Believe it or not, but a town in the northern Canadian terirtoiries have their own hero. In a small town called Nunivut, Polarboy lives to keep citizens safe from harm. He has no powers, but a white suit and bright blue cape and a mask and runs around "helping" people. With his mask on, he wants to be called Polarboy. With his mask of, he's Kevin(shhh...that's his secret identity). This guy is accepted by the local police and helps out. He stops kids from sniffing gas and keeps the police informed. So when you see he ride up in his bike, remember to say hello to Polarboy - superhero to the north.
And this is true folks. All true.

OK...
1) Is this really real?
and
2) Does he know Polar Boy is a real superhero?

This is really real. During the History lecture today, we had a guest speaker who lived in Nunivut for 3 months and told us about Polarboy. It's true folks. Very, very true.
There's a comic book counterpart?

Take it from one who was a comic book maniac as a grade schooler and still enjoys (some of) the hardcover collections today ... that Polar Boy showed up as often as the readers could stand him in DC's early 1960s "Legion of Super-Heroes" series. (He was a "substitute hero" or some such, if memory serves.)
On that note, I later came to the conclusion that
either team of X-Men could have turned the entire Legion (sans Superboy, natch) into grease spots without working up a sweat, Polar Boy or no. Thank goodness no one was yet writing Marvel/DC crossover books then!

Ha! That's great! I'd love to do something like that. Is he still around?
