Think Marvel Comics is the only company getting widespread mainstream attention? DC Comics hopes to change that buy advertising in a very popular magazine, Entertainment Weekly. A quarter page ad will appear in the November 23rd issue of the magazine. Also, DC has issued a "do it yourself" press release so comic book stores can fill in the blanks shown below to local media outlets. This will help draw attention to the title as well as their own comic store. DC Comic has been reknowned and praised for their relationship with retailers in terms of great prices, deals, and co-operation.

Also, it is expected that January's Batman: The 10 Cent Adventures will be a big step for retailers in terms of sales.
Below is the press release issed by DC Comics. Note the 'fill in the blanks' for the retailers.
DC Comics/Batman Press Release: THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN
"Back in 1986 when Ronald Reagan was president, the Cold War was at full boil and comic-book artist Frank Miller wrote and drew a graphic novel called The Dark Knight Returns that changed the course of comics."- Rolling Stone Hot List, September 2001
"[Frank Miller's] brutal yet elegant noir renderings, pulpy yet eloquent scripting, and thoroughly uncompromising attitude make him one of the most distinctive voices in comics." - Entertainment Weekly It List, July 2001
In 1986, BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, a groundbreaking series from DC Comics and writer/artist Frank Miller, took the pop-culture world by storm and revolutionized comics forever. On December 5, Frank Miller returns with the THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN, the most anticipated comics sequel of all time.
THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN is an epic 3-issue miniseries masterfully written and illustrated by Miller and featuring the magnificent colors of Miller's collaborator, Lynn Varley. Issue #1 of this must-have comic book will be available at ____________ in __________, on December 5.
__________, owner and operator of ___________ says about THE DARK
KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN, "This is going to be our hottest item of the year, and no fan of comics or of Batman - in comics, the movies, or on TV - will want to miss out on it."
The story of THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN began three years after the events of THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, and, on the surface, everything seems to have returned to normal. What the world at large doesn't know is that it's a sham in which everything that's ugly, or even potentially disturbing, is swept under the carpet. Only Batman knows better... and only he can make things right again.
THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN features surprising appearances by DC Comics icons including Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, the Atom, the Question, and more. But are they still the World's Greatest Heroes?
Frank Miller and Lynn Varley bring their unique and often controversial talents to bear in creating an amazing new tale of the Dark Knight. The multi-award-winning team of Miller and Varley have delivered - together and separately - some of the finest tales of our time with BATMAN: YEAR ONE, 300, Sin City, Elektra Lives Again, RONIN, Give Me Liberty, and Hard Boiled.
Also available from Frank Miller and DC Comics are the BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS collected edition and THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN STATUE.
