View Full Version : Smallville comic?
The show is kicking butt, and since DC is doing that little comic in tv guide, what do you say about maybe making a elseworlds monthly book sort of deal about the show? DC never did made a live show into a comic before, Lois and Clark had some graphic novel but thats it. It won't happen most likely, there've been comics in tv guide before, but do you think they could pull off a regular comic series with the same feel of the show?

Gee, this topic looks familar! ;)
I am all for a Smallville comic. Some people think it wouldn't work! Of course, I would be more for it if they could guarantee it would focus on the drama more and not follow the forumla of the show.

It would too much like those Dell and Gold Key comics from the 60's.

I think a Smallville comic would be a nobrainer, although whether or not they could pull it off. Maybe the 4 page comic in TV GUIDE is a test for a potential comic.

Actually, they did. There was a Superboy tv show in the 80s. There was a comic to accompany it, it lasted 19 issues and a Super Special.
I haven't read them yet(it's in my very huge "To Read" pile), but I know it's based on the TV show because the first issue had a picture from the show as a cover, and it had one of those "Based on the hit TV show!" blurbs.
But, I don't know if I would buy a Smallville comic. It would depend on the creative team, because the show hasn't been all that stellar so far.
