When I got in the car this afternoon after school, I saw my mom reading a newspaper which I promptly snatched out her hands because my eye caught a pic of Supes on it. It was a simple front page article in the Accent section (haven't a clue what it has, besides the comics, lol) of todays Orange County Register. It was nothing more than 9 captions of pics from either the old tv shows, new tv shows, movies or cartoons and comics with little bubbles here and there saying random things. Mostly it talked about the start of batman and superman and how they both altered when things in the world were certain ways. The Cold War, rising crime, Middle East problems, Americans disconnected from government, that sort of thing. Under the title of the article, which is the title of this post, were the words: After A Decade Of The Caped Crusader, We're Ready For The Man Of Steel
ummm...maybe he's ready, but I still want Batman! lol. But, I kinda understand what he means by that little sentence. Because through the little captions they made Supes to be really cool All American awesome, and Batman to be ...well...dark and corny. damn them. Plus the last caption was a pic from Smallvilled of Lana, Clark and Lex and the last written bubble said: "no one had worries about it being corny anymore, Gough said. Now that we're a nation in crisis, "Superman is comfort food for the American pscyhe."
Then what kinda future is Batman supposed to be looking forward to?
Barb^-^
