It was a good show years ago, but the recent installments in the franchise haven't come close.

Well let's see, G1 kicks ass, Beast Wars kicked even more ass, and Beast Machines was just plain awesome! So there you go. Plus I have the comics (but I'm thinking about stopping since the latest issues have sucked), DVDs, figures (sold most of my BW though), and other stuff.

The Japanese series (HM, MF, V) all suck, as does RID and Armada. Energon has certainly gotten better after ep 28, but it still isn't anything worth watching more than once.

Beast Wars takes place 300 years after the original series. THe Autobots and Decepticons have upgraded and downsized (meaning they are now as big as humans) into Predacons and Maximals. In the beginning a group of Maximals track onto the ship commanded by the Predacon criminal Megatron and a band of rogue Preds. They are transported to an unknown world, but later they find out they are on Earth, which was Megatron's goal because he found instructions from the original Megatron about an alternative plan. The plan was to travel back in time and destroy Optimus Prime long before the As and Ds woke up, which would cause the Ds to win, thus the Predacons would not be under Maximal order.

Beast Machines stars the survivors of Beast Wars, and they have returned to Cybertron, but they do not remember what happened, nor know why Cybertron is deserted. Turns out Megatron is now in charge of Cybertron.

I'll let someone else explain th erest sice I gotta go.

G1 was a great series and really had some good episodes and fleshed out the characters. Especially considering that it was made to sell toys. Oh, and don't let me forget the great voice acting. Some may say that some of it was "corny", but it did what any good voice acting should, give the characters some personality and supplement the on screen action.

Transformers: The Movie was ahead of it's time in terms of violence. Plot-wise it could've been better. Yes, the sountrack is dated, but it still occupies a slot in my CD changer. I still remember the date that I saw it in the theater (8/6/86 @ 1:30 p.m., sad, I know).

Never got into Beast Wars. I did see a bunch of the Japanese eps of Victory, Masterforce, and such. The tapes that I saw were dubbed in English for airing in Hong Kong and let me say that it was some of the worst voice dubbing ever. There have been rumors of dubbing them for a North American release.

Didn't care for RID or Armada. Energon is growing on me, but I don't care for the voice acting too much. It comes across as sort of stiff and whiny. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THE LIVE ACTION FILM THAT IS IN PRE-PRODUCTION!!!
It's being produced by Don Murphy and will likely be based on G1 characters.

On Beast Machines Megatron fell off of the ship they were on going to Cybertron, and his momentum propelled him to Cybertron before the Maximals, so he created a virus and infected everyone causing their bodies to seperate from their sparks. He then brainwashed the sparks, and was ready to do the same to the Maximals until Optimus reformatted all of them. I've enjoyed all the Transformers series though (minus Robots In Disguise), but they don;t quite compare to G1 and Beast Wars. Energon is up next to those though, and its a massive improvement from Armada, which was a massive improvement from RiD.

Yep, me too. Can't you tell from my Avatar & Sig's. When it comes to Transfomers I read & buy Dreamwave comics. Watch Energon from time to time, when there are New Episodes. Own a few of Transformers G1 toys. Got most of the Original Transformers Episodes + Transformers: The Movie (Uncut) on VHS, and the entire series of R.O.D. & Armada (VHS Bootleg FOX Kids & CN).

You missed Transformers: Zone.

Anyway, here's my opinions.

Generation 1: Fun, but stupid.

Beast Wars: Awesome.

Beast Machines: Never seen it.

RID: Fun, and purposefully stupid which makes it more fun.

Armada: Great. OR should I say, Micron Legend is great and Armada is riddled with errors that make it not so great. Still, I love it.

Energon: Tied with Beast Wars in terms of greatness (or, once again, I should probably say Super Link is since Energon is also riddled with errors).

Of course, I never liked Beast Wars season 1 or the Return to Cybertron/Unicron arc in Energon all that much.

Eh, I don't really count HM, MF, and V as G1 since they sucked. Plus The Rebirth was so much better than HM. At first I liked HM better, but once HM got half way through, with the death of Galvatron, if that is what you could call it (Death of UM was the last good episode), the series went downhill, and the ending sucked.

Rebirth was terrible. Watching it on my DVDs made my ashamed to be a fan of something so crappy. G1 should've ended with "The Burden Hardest to Bear" as far as I'm concerned.

I haven't read much about Headmasters, but from what I do know, even *that* sounds better than Rebirth, and Headmasters doesn't sound all that great in the first place. Though it does have a spiffy theme song!

Are the Japenese series linked with the american series?

If you take out The Rebirth from G1 and replace it with HM, then yes.

And you also have to ignore the fact that dead autobots show up in HM and V. rebirth was better then both of them.

Why does transformers change its name so much?

Why does transformers change its name so much?Because the characters in the series change themselves...or it wouldn't be transformers

it would be action masters

G1 rocked, as did Beast Wars and beast machines, though I sorta didn't like the direction BM went after awhile. Too Matrix-y.

On the Japanese series, they're very cool. Got some the crappy old-school "professional" dubs of some HM, MF and V eps and some subbed. Subbed is better. Also have the fandub of Scramble City and the sub, both cool.
