Okay, time to ask a pivotal question of sorts.
Unless you've been living in a cave for the past year or so, you know that Justice League, a show that many DC Comics (and WB Animation) fans have been waiting forever to see, is coming THIS Saturday only on Cartoon Network.
Now that we have the dream show as a reality, what's there to dream for? What DC property would you like to see animated next?
Would you kill for a DC Spotlight show, showcasing a different hero or group of heroes each episode?
How about a series with the Birds of Prey, Oracle and Black Canary (with a little cameo from Green Arrow every now and then)?
How about the youthful heroes of Young Justice having fun and kicking butt in the city?
So how about it? What's your poison? What would you like to see?

I'm sorry, but none of the choices really appeal to me.
The creators of the show actually thought about a DC Showcase show at one point (or just talked about the potential design for one in Wizard Magazine), but dismissed it because it would be too expensive to make--every episode they would need to design new backgrounds and a new cast.

Young Justice is all that really appeals to me, honestly. Maybe a Gotham Girls type show would work better- Catwoman, Ivy, Harley, the "new" Batgirl, Oracle, Balck Canary, Huntress, etc....

I'd go for the spotlight show, but instead of making it be dedicated to a different character each episode (personally I see that as being a little too difficult to do) I'd have each season focus on a hero, almost like a miniseries. Season one could go to Nightwing, season two could go to Green Arrow, season three could go to Aquaman, season four... You get the point. Gives the creative team a chance to work with the characters they want without having to worry about loosing their creativity, or getting bored.
My second choice would be another team-up series, either Young Justice or The Legion.
My third choice would be a series that focuses on one Hero and the supporting characters (something I get the feeling that JL will be sorely lacking). Of course they could always go and do more Batman episodes and I wouldn't complain. :D

dc showcase in 5 episode story arcs. each arc concentrating on a different character or story epic.

What about a Nightwing animated series? It was established on Batman Beyond that Batman and Batgirl hook up, so that could be the catalyst to get Nightwing out of Gotham and on his own in Bludhaven.
Green Arrow and Black Canary could be supporting cast members and Blockbuster and the Huntress could be some of his villains (see my previous posts on the Were There Any Characters That the Superman & Batman Shows Forgot About? thread).
Hey, maybe they could throw the formation of the Titans in there somewhere.

You know, I thought about the Titans, but then I realized something . . . the Titans were formed by a group that includes JL member Flash, the hero now known as Arsenal, and Wonder Girl, among others, and Dick was still Robin.
At least in the comic version.
Now, I would seriously want to see a series featuring Dick Grayson in the years after the events in Old Wounds, which I thought was the cataclyst for the former boy wonder to leave Gotham, and led him to become the . . . um, does he even have a Dark Knight-like nickname?
Plus, I'd like to see how Dini/Timm/Burnett would have treated the Agent of the Bat, Azrael (see, ol' Jean got himself a fancy nickname, how come Grayson was shafted?).

I think that DC Showcase where it focuses on a particular persaon for a season is a real good idea. The show could run for a LONG time and the creators behind it wouldn't get burned out. Can you imagine seasons dedicated to THE QUESITON, GREEN ARROW,etc...? *Drools*

Fortunately, there have been several versions of the Titans. The creators could pick and choose.

I heard the most recent version of the Titans has been the best - anyone reading it? I'm still waiting for DC to release a TPB of the first arc or so.
I'd go with The DC Animated Showcase IF it was arcs/miniseries focusing on different characters. However, what I'd really, really want if more episodes of Batman, w/o the sidekicks. It would be much darker than what had been previously done and could explore some of the stories that haven't already been done on television. I haven't read the comics, but I've read online that there were quite a few good stories that could be developed.

I'd like to see some more solo Batman tales, too. Som eof the best episodes were with just Batman, and I think some more of those would definatly be welcomed -- !

I voted for the showcase since it has the largest potential to offer the greatest variety but I must admit, that if the Silver Age Legion had been a choice, that's what I would have chosen.
Still, an anthology type of show like showcase would not only expose the a possibly unfamiliar viewership to a larger number of characters ... it could also serve as a series of "pilot" episodes, trying out ideas for possible future shows (like the Legion!!)
