In my area, the show was pre-empted by some stupid Billy Graham special movie. The thing ended right at 9:30 PM, too.

Well, that's just prime. It doesn't look like NBC will replay it this week, either.

Hey that was funny. Still cliche sitcom fluff, but funny.

Hey that was funny. Still cliche sitcom fluff, but funny.Took the words right out from my...uh...fingers.

This series was made to fill the a vacant slot (comedy wise and programming wise) left by two of NBC's biggest sitcoms. Because of that, I'm not really expecting the plots of the episodes to deviate from that cliche sitcomesque feel.

This episode (I thought the last episode was enjoyable as well) had some genuinely funny moments. I still can't help but be charmed by S&R's crazy antics. Just what they wind up saying...I find hilarious (Last week they called Matt a 'Word Burglar', can't get much better then that). The fact that they made a laser show and fog machine out of the Big Gulp was hilarious.

Larry and Kate getting drugged up in front of the teacher and the havic that ensued was also hilarious.

Can't wait for next week's episode with Donkey. :)

I only got to see the Rave Club Scene and the S&R at 7-Eleven gag. Which was priceless by the way!

I thought this show was pretty funny for a first time viewing for me. I just enjoy the antics of Seigfed, and Roy with the Big Glup machine. The Cat nip storyline was pretty good as well. I can't wait for Donkey's appearence next week.

Mediocre is still mediocre.

I actually laughed for the first time at something in Father of the Pride: Larry telling his son not to worry because Santa Claus doesn't exist.

Seigfreid and Roy are getting tiresome. The product placements for 7/11 and Coca Cola were groan worthy. (Almost as bad as Alias.) I probably wouldn't have minded Seigfreid and Roy chasing after a product that doesn't really exist but this was just a grating shameless plug.

Cheryl Hines is probably the worst voice over actress in animation today.

The daughter Lion was annoying. She reminded ma of Charlene Sinclair, only not cute. In fact this episode veered into Dinosaurs territory. The parents getting stoned were straight out of the "Happy Plant" episode as were their reactions to their hands and speech etc.

Which probably points to Father of the Pride's biggest weakness: it is a family sitcom. At least Dinosaurs had likable characters and a proenvirmental message. Father of the Pride seems stuck between raunchy "adult" oriented gags and the stereotypical "solve every problem in 22 minutes" family sitcom strategy. I honestly don't know who this show is aimed at.

Same grade as last week's episode: **1/2.

The whole "product placement" gimmick was supposed to be a force concept, as well as a reviled one. But since I actually LOVE logos, I don't really care! And once you put such wacky characters as these cartoonish versions of Sigfried and Roy in on Segway HT's to try and get the "Ah", it's comic dynamite! And then you get the standard sitcom material for "Are you doing drugs?" and put new meanings on it. That's what this episode is all about.

And some of you mentioned Eddie Murphy as Donkey appearing next week. I agree with you on the synonym gag, it DOES really look funny. And don't you just love it when people like Katzenberg try a crossover like this, although it does try something different? (Donkey's quite a long way from Far Far Away and the Fairy Tale World and he's supposed to be a celeberty on this show.)

I really enjoyed this episode, as usual. The catnip plot was hilarious lol. And I know I'll really enjoy Donkey's cameo appearance on next week's episode:)

I'm really getting to like this show. I was initially disappointed, but it has been steadily improving and I have a feeling that in a few more episodes, it may end up being a hit.

Sure, there's always going to be lovers and haters of a show, but I've been warming up to it quite nicely.

Kate and Larry high on 'nip had me rolling, as did Sarmoti's stream of quips. I think Sarmoti is becoming one of my favorite characters; he just injects some of the most hilarious, off-the-wall comments.

There are a few moments that make me go "What the fuuu??" though. For instance, in last week's episode, "Blake as a baby. Later in the show he gets felt up by Elton John". Is this a cultural reference I didn't get, or just a random off-the-cuff comment? I wonder...

Anyway, I'm going to continue giving this show a chance, and archiving every episode that airs. If it doesn't last long at least I'll have a piece of history...
