Man SW3 is coming up fast. Seems like yesterday I was watching Episode 1 on the big screen. It's sad to see it all coming to an end.

George took him to Anchorhead and had his memory wiped.

I guess that means he's already recorded his lines for Clone Wars season 2 (if any)

Hasn't it been said ever since 1983 that Star Wars is a nine-part story? Aren't there stories for 7, 8 and 9 still in Lucas's head?

I suspect the real reason why there won't be a sequel trilogy is because he's getting too old to be shackled to making these.

I wonder how he feels about the prequel movies, becuase I think the C-3PO character was really changed for the worse in prequels. In the original trilogy, his comic relief would come from well-timed witty remarks and his interaction with the other characters. In the first two movies (the first one, in particular) he became more of a dumbed-down, slapstick character.

Hard to believe Episode 3 isn't that far away from coming out. I always liked Daniels, good actor, great character. Sad to see these things coming to an end.

In TPM, Threepio was barely there, both figuratively and literally.

In Attack of the Clones, he looked more like he should- and ended up spending a whole scene spouting AWFUL puns, which is something he had never done.

Yeah, I thought I probably had that mixed up after I posted it. I actually have a hard time remebering much of the first two movies, and I don't know if that's a fault of the movies or on account of my poor memory.

I do remember thinking that I didn't like what they had done with the character, though. I think C-3PO is easily one of my favorite SW characters, so I was dissapointed to see him change.

I'm still surprised that he's been in every SW film to date.

On a side note, I've been very quiet about the whole issue of the prequels, but I do have to agree with Mr. Daniels about the digital effects overbearing on the story. Finally, someone who has a qualm about the prequels and says it in an *intelligent* manner...

Well, according to George, it was always supposed to be "just six films," but if you go back far enough, you can find plenty of interviews we he says nine films. Somewhere along the line, he obviously changed his mind about how many to do, which I don't mind. But if the PREQUELS are any indication, I hope he does never do 7-9. I'd rather just accept Timothy Zahn's "Thrawn Trilogy" as Episodes 7-9.

I'm sure George will continue to release edited versions of his films every few years. "Now I'll edit out Mark Hamil with Hayden Christianson, just to hammer home that Luke is Vader's son. And now Stormtrooper's don't get killed by lazer blasts, since it's wrong for heroes to kill."
