Spacataz gets lamer every week. I'm so glad they didn't make a show out of it.

Pretty good episode overall, reminded me strongly of the older stuff. I guess it's because it had more of a plot than just totally random crap, and all the plot elements were pretty funny.
Best line was
"Who the hell thought of this place?"

wow, atari-generated profanity. and shake needs food, badly.
so.. they want to get back to detecting, huh? whoa.
looks like meatwad's voice is pretty deep right now.
they still haven't fixed rabbot's hole in the wall after all this time.
liquid roast, heh. too bad i can't drink roast well.
carl naked = errghn. and he was watching meatwad!?!
my goodness, meatwad finally got a new form. i wonder if my friend in dallas would benefit from some of the meds. he's a musician.
poor meatwad, thank goodness he's got t1000's ability to reform..
ohhh that's sharp hands there.
whoaaa... she's nutty and cool. i almost wish she'd survive this episode. first cool female character they've had.
pac man fever. i used to be sick with that disease.
those are the coolest robot girls ever... awww ! poor robots. and carl's house.
well... cool episode. it's a shame those robot girl(s) didn't survive. they sure could have brought a ray of joy to a boy-run house of insane food. please to hope they make a comeback.
anyway, rated 10/11 . or 11/11 for some west of central time zone.
you got served... but where's MY meal?

Ah, there we go. After a stream of mediocre episodes this one was pretty good.
You're liquified, *****.
Even Spacecataz was funny.
Spacecataz wasn't as bad this week. Also it seemed a little longer than usual. Or perhaps it was just an actual understandable scene and not just a weird cut.
And.. we did not need Carl with his pants off like that.. I'd rather they leave his recreational activities off screen.
You know, the Dr. Weird bits work because they're self-contained. The Spacecataz bits, being tiny chunks of a larger whole with a seven-day wait . . .works much less so. The prank call angle, now well pounded into the ground, worked even less for me. Oh and please end the bleep-jokes now. It's been old since well-before "Gee Whiz"
You know, Shake looked really funny in his various outfit(s) this week. I also liked Meatwad freaked out on drugs. Tho it woulda been a perfect time for him to have indulged in his "trailer-speak" and. . .didn't. Huh.
Robositter was kinda. . .funny. They've done robots before but not quite as frighteningly psychotic as her. One wonders if Metwad's suddenly nostalgic for Shake's abuse. The whole rationale for Robositter creating Shiela was kinda funny, as was Frylock crushing them in the press.
This was WAY better than "Little Brittle" primarily because it didn't rely on a somewhat exhausted premise or character and because it didn't wear out its welcome. Not quite the non-stop fun-fest of earlier seasons, but proof they can still be funny if they "think outside of the friggin' box" Let's call it a B-

I'm pretty sure it was repaired in another episode.
This one was...average.

"Robo-Sitter! What are you doing in a thong?!"
Slow start (please die Spacecataz, kthxbai) but it really picked up. Hooray for slutty robots, Lance Henrikson, and Meatwad on drugs!

Another amusing Spacecataz although they seemed to overplayed it. Aqua Teen has been of consistent quality since the premiere episode. Amusing episode all the same. Interesting to see Shake and Frylock now at a job, and perhaps too disturbing to see Carl do things like that. At least those Robositters got their dues...

1. HA! What blatant product placement! :D
2. I'd like some of those fastfood drinks too. :p
3. Can't believe they actually showed Carl that!
4. So Meatwad truly is indestructible!
5. Maybe Meatwad would get his own fairy godparents? ;)
6. At least this ep tied in some timeline into their history. :)

That was pretty good. It felt far more in line with ATHF's better angels. "Who thought of this place?" indeed. Robositter was disturbing in many sense, whether as psychotic android or indignant, snotty robot-teen.
Better than last weeks and better than much of the new season thus far. It was good, but I still set the standard highly, *** out of *****

Shake's not funny anymore.
And that's a problem, becuase if he's not funny, the whole dynamic suffers. He feels restrained and often out of his element. He's no longer an extreme jackass and idiot, he's merely a slight jerk and only slightly clueless. :/

Yay. After getting a scene involving Brock Samson getting...proctologized, we then get Carl masturbating to work out shows. Master Roshi would be proud.
Better than last week, it's improving. Plot was better. Though I kinda felt as spacecataz took up too much of the actual show's time. It'd probally be better if wierd was still there. Whatever, it was better.

I don't think it's as strong a shift as you suggest, but my sense of these things is far less acute. I think the show may just be wearing down, among other things.
And... a smiley?

Look at it this way, the longer the Spacecatraz segments are, the sooner we'll be done with them. How many minutes have we gone through so far? Does anyone know?
this episode was hilarious by the way. One of the best ever.

After I missed last week's episode, it was only right that a good opening happened! I loved the "Mike Hunt" and other phone pranks between the Spacecataz and Mooninites, so Dr. Wierd's absence is not all in vain... It reminds of "Sofa King We Todd Ed" and other crazy stints friends would pull on me. :D As for the main story itself, it was decent. I don't think it was as great as E-Dork two weeks back, but Meatwad and the Robositter managed to keep me entertained. I especially liked it when the Robositter and Shiela had a rebellion against Frylock, and then boom!... they're made into slurpy lunch!
I give Robositter a B+.

The show makes a recovery, at least in the short run. I had found the newest batch of episodes to be boring and unfunny. This one, however, seemed to be much more reminicent of the higher quality episodes of the past, though it still had some problems.
With this one, I laughed much more than I had at the previous new episodes, but I still wasn't laughing as much as I used to at ATHF. Also, I felt that the end of the episode began to drag, as the other recent episodes did throughout. It's an improvement, but I'd like the show to be at a point where it can put together really solid 13 minute (or is it 11?) episodes again.
Matt is absolutely right about Shake. I had the same thoughts while watching this episode. I don't know if they forgot how to write for him effectively or if it is just that the writing is weaker in general, and it manifests itself in Shake most. We hadn't seen much of Shake until now, which made the show feel like it was lacking. Now we see a lot of him, but the show still feels a bit lacking, because he's lost what made him work as a part of the comedy team before. It seems his lines are just watered down rehashes of earlier lines.
I did like the episode, though. The beginning was very good, and though they weren't that memorable, there were some good lines and gags in there. I really can't recall them, which I think indicates a problem, but I remember chuckling a number of times. I didn't like most of what they did with the robots and the job didn't return as many comedy moments as I would have liked, but the episode worked overall, which is a big improvement.
I have to admit I made the ol' when I heard Sarah Silverman. I hope this doesn't get into a point where we see a different cool comedian or an "oh, yeah, I remember him" musician do a voice every week. Sarah Silverman is great and all, but she's a little late to be hopping on the ATHF wagon.
If we see more like this and less like Little Brittle (or any of the recent episodes) I'll be happy, but there's still a number of things that need to change if they want to get the show back to its previous level of quality.

They haven't detected anything in over three years.
I liked Shake shooting T-shirts out the window.
Flower power Meatwad was good.
Could have one without seeing Carl watching tv with his pants down, although I thought the totally non-sexy exercise video was a good touch.
Can't say I recognized the voice being that of Sarah Silverman.
What did strike me as how rare it is to hear a womens voice on ATHF, when was the last time that happened?
That's enough Spacecataz, it's just not any good.
If they have any more leftover they can just put it up on adultswim.com.

If I remember correctly, season 2 wasn't really that bad, but you're right that three definitely was. I should have said I don't want it to continue, I guess. I was sort of lumping seasons 3 and 4 together and saying I didn't want it to turn into a Simpson's level of "This week on ATHF, noteable TV personality [celebrity who thinks they're being cool by appearing on a cartoon after it gains popularity]."

The only voices I recognized in the second season were David Cross and Danzig. Maybe other people have a sharper ear and/or more extensive knowledge of entertianers, but I couldn't recognize the voices of people like Todd Hanson.
Delthayre
09-13-2004, 11:58 AM
I've never seen anything wrong with carefully used guest voices, so long as they don't build everything around the fact that a guest star is doing the voice or, even worse, have the guest star play himself (a la The Simpsons). It just becomes an annoyance when it's thrown in or overplayed. "Dumber Dolls" is my favorite episode, and David Cross gave Happy Time Harry a great voice characterization.
And I still don't know who Danzig is, so the ending if "Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past" doesnt' bother me, although the follow up is better.

I'm glad most of y'all ("y'all"? I'm from New England, f'crynoutloud) are finally joining me in enjoying this season's ATHFs.
I'm already there on the Spacecatraz bits. Dr. Weird worked better.
Did we really have to see Carl w/out pants?? Yecch! Funny, though.
It'd be great if someone could get a screen shot (or whatever they're called) of psychedelic Frylock from Meatwad's POV. It was on the screen too short a time.
And the funny highlight imho was the end, with the quick bit of the results of Carl having to babysit Meatwad again!

This episode was awesome. I was surprised to hear Sarah Silverman, I've always thought she was funny. Robositter wasnt there very long, but that was ok, because everything else was funny.
Eh... Shake wants to have sex with a robot? Weird.

Great and hilarious episode! I was surprised when Shake wanted to revive the detective thing. 3 years since they solved their last case? geez! robositter was funny and a lot more interesting than little brittle. why did shake dig the robositter that much? its a frickin robot!

Interesting, it's not from Excel Saga, it's a music DVD cover
This episode didn't do much for me. Spacecataz seemed to last longer than usual, I really didn't need to see Carl with his pants down, and there really weren't many funny moments. The only part that had me laughing was when Frylock decided to pay the robositter, "You're liquified, *****."
"Robositter" gets a C-.

This is by far the best episode of the new season. I, unlike others, think master shake is not wearing down. He had many funny lines this ep like"are you legal?" and "I got pac-man fever".
many laugh out loud moments and the ending was classic.
Robositter gets a A+
We really need an avatar of shake wearing the work uniform:)

Spacecataz: It's a bit longer then the recent ones.
Highlights: Meatwad wasted, Carl jacking off(wish the chair covered the butt parts), the reference to them not being detectives, Shake & Frylock in those uniforms, the Robositter bossing Meatwd around, the fembot teens in those slut looks, Frylock giving Robositter & Sheila what they deserve, the ending
Grade: :meatwad::frylock::meatwad::frylock:

You're talking about a romance between a robot and a giant cup!
Just think about that for a second.
Robo-sitter was too good for him.
In his dreams he's going to hook up with the liquified hottie.
