Curare is a type of poison. That's about all I know.

I believe Cuarare is some poison that like paralyzes you to the point where u cant move, yet you can see and hear, but there's no brain wave activity showing it at the hospital.
You then die soon after, but there is a brief time that u can see and hear everything going on around u, but everything around u thinks ur dead or something.

NOW, i could be wrong, and if i am, please tell me!!!

on a lighter note, I think curare is a pretty cool villian, especially with that awsome sword. Batgirl could take her. . . .that is, when she was still batgirl

I thought that it was kind of neat that they designed her to be sort of an opposite to Batman. Whereas he is black and red, she is white and blue.

Did she ever have an origin beyond just being an assassin for the Society of Assassins (and wasn't that R'as Al Ghul's outfit)?

Well, from my Neurobio. book which I have been studying for the past 3 days (Fun fun!), curare prevents neurons from sending messages. Neurons in curare have messages that are very reduced and aren't able to send that message on to the next neuron because it is so weak. So that seems to fit in with what you said.

This has been another Biology lesson from Prof. Tully.

well, that's kind of why i asked the question. i was thinking about writing her beginings. she is a member of the league of assassins. i'm not sure if that's ra's al ghul's outfit or not.

i also heard, from another thread here i believe, that curare was a type of poison that came from a plant. is there any truth to this? if not, where does the poison come from?

Yep, it does come from a plant - look it up in a dictionary and they tell you that much! ;)

Ra's Al Ghul's organization was the Society of Shadows, shown in "Off Balance" and "The Demon Reborn."

In the comic books, Ra's was involved w/the League of Assassins, although I don't think he created the organization. It was originally run by a guy called O-Sensei, I think.

Now I'm curious, though. I'll have to do a little research tonight.
