View Full Version : Winx Club "Meant to Be" Talkback

Once again, the time has come to engage in a Winx Club talkback.
Well, after the Witch-induced fun of last week's episode, we get serious this week, as we explore Bloom's past a little further. Bloom's parents make their first appearance since the first scene in "More than High School", and both are in danger of getting burned by a major fire that flares up at Mum's soon-to-close flower shop. Can Bloom save them? How much of her past will she learn? Can you believe we're halfway through the season already?
Tune in at 7:00 and (for the last time) 9:30 A.M. EST, then come back here to comment. And don't forget about the rules.

I'm taping it now even as I type this. I'll comment on the ep later. This is the only show on my local Fox affiliate because of one thing.
Today is the 3rd anniversary of 9/11/01.:( Everything else will be pre-empted for this event. My stepfather was 2 blocks away from where IT happened; he got away in time though. I hope some of you Winx Club fans will take a little time to remember what happened on that horrible day. Even just for a moment.:(

Well... this episode... how to feel about it. It was sweet. Not necessarily the greatest episode--it wasn't--but it was sweet, and had me tearing up a bit. A 2.3 on the old scale. Probably the 11th best episode thus far in the series.
Again, it was sweet. Bloom, with her Mom, and with her Dad, connecting... not exactly thrilling, or exciting, but sentimental enough.
Was there anything wrong with the episode? Yeah... everyone besides Bloom was hardly there, or missing entirely. Bloom isn't my favorite character, and certainly, this isn't the first episode to focus heavily on Bloom, but it is the first for which none of the other characters are there, either. The witches are completely absent; the other 4 Winx girls don't fare much better, only appearing at the very beginning and end of the episode, seemingly just for the sake of sticking them in the show.
Not much really happened in the episode, either, aside from a number of "awww" moments... which are really the moments that save the episode from being the worst of the series thus far.
Obviously, the two villains here--don't remember their name--don't compare to our Trio. Not that they weren't evil, mind you--if they had special powers, they'd obviously be trying to take over earth--but they just weren't that interesting from the little we saw of them.
Bloom's Dad reminds me of a cartoon Jerry Stiller. I guess he did before today, but I wasn't so into the show the last time we saw him.
Dare I say I can't blame Mitzi too much for getting upset with the special report. Namely, the fire was at night, yet several hours later, during the day, they air a special report on the fire? While the fire's going is one thing, but several hours later? Yeah... have to side with Mitzi. Whatever they were talking about could've waited for the regular newscast.
The preview for next week's show in the credit roll looked absolutely nothing like the Crystal Ball preview... are those actually for the same episode?

This episode was created for one purpose: To start of the "Bloom's origin" storyline. It had some sweet moments, and a couple adventurous moments, which is why I'm giving this week's ep a 3.0.
I agree with Frank's comments. No Witches (although it was appropriate that they not show up this week, considering the circumstances) and the other Winx girls were sandwiched in between Bloom's flashback. The latter is the thing that bothered me the most. (That and the fact that not much happened, aside from the Bloom thing.)
So, like I said, 3.0 for this week.
NEXT WEEK: Our favorite fairies move to a new time (8:30/7:30 C) with another all-new episode. Our favorite trio is back (Notice the pattern the Witches have gone through this past month of episodes. "Junior League": Absent. Miss Magix: They return. This week: No Trio. Next week: They return again. Will they show up 2 weeks from now to break the pattern.
Also, Bloom's origin storyline gets kicked into high gear (from what I could decipher from the Crystal Ball Video.)
See ya next Saturday, and remember the new time, and loss of the second run.

I shall give this episode 3 out o' 5... I like all the backstory, but i also miss the witches... but that crystal ball video rocked! I just cant wait till next week! I'm going to go insane waiting! Oh,.. wait.. :D I already am...
I think bloom looked sooo cute when she was little! Those pig tails are soooo adorable!
^-^ i have one more thing to say... I LOVED the one thing that bloom said on this ep.:
"...I could't save the pot roast..." I just love the way she said it! It cracked me up lol... well, i found it very humorous lol :D
For about one sentence, Stella sounded.. not obsessed with herself too... but i love stella either way, she makes me laugh! ((if you cant tell, i'm always laughing at pretty much anything that is stupid, or sarcasticly funny or.. something like that lol :) ... and i say "lol" alot to.. just to warn you..))

I liked todays episode. A bit...I don't want to say boring, but not as exciting as others. But, a change of pace every now and then can be good.
Blooms parents are adorable - especially her mom. She's just darling! ;D
But yes - next weeks episode is going to be gooooood!

nice episode. was this episode better undubbed? or was it basicly a "snooze" altogether? lol but the baby thing was the best part to lead up to next weeks episode....
my only thing is, at the end of the music, and with that line, it would be ashame to give away the whole secret this season. lol

I actually had less mixed feelings than most of you. I loved this episode! (Shocking, isn't it? ) It proves my recent theory that I really like Bloom, but only when she's on her own and not with all the other Winx girls. I like both her parents. Her dad is too goofily cute. "That really steams my coffee!" And her mom is sweet. And Mitzi is just funny. (Sounds like she's voiced by the same chick that does Musa.)
The "aww" moments were appropriately aww-inducing. I about died of the cuteness of little Bloom. So adorable! It was a good episode for backstory and for a little break from the action. Every now and then, there should be a more relaxed and sentimental episode, even if it does mean no witches. (Granted, I'd also love to see a relaxed episode with the witches doing something rather mundane.) Yeah, it was basically one giant plot point, but if it means we finally find out Bloom's secret, I'll endure it. This plot has been going nowhere for too long. It's time to get it over with.
And get to the episode with Princess Diaspro!
If Bloom acted like she did in this episode and eps 1-3 all the time, she'd probably be #3 in my rankings or at least tied with Stella for #3. I like Stella more and more. I loved her little end line about being nosy.
So I give this a 3.5, which is the highest rating an ep can get from me if the witches aren't in it.
Next week looks awesome! I like Brandon and I think Bloom interacts well with him, so hopefully we'll have another episode where I can actually like her.

And Mitzi is just funny. (Sounds like she's voiced by the same chick that does Musa.)
Yep. According to Michael's Winx Club page, Mitzi and Musa are both played by 4Kids regular Liza Ortiz (who can also be heard as Amy on Sonic X.)
On an unrelated note, I just got done downloading the Italian version of episode 26 (the 1st season finale) and I get to see how the season ends before anyone else (except for a couple certain Winx fans) get to see it on Fox.
My favorite part of the ep (and most certainly the greatest moment in the series, IMHO) comes at the 7:30 mark. Icy creates this big ice crystal that traps Bloom and sends itself crashing back to the ground. Naturally, Icy thinks she's finally defeated Bloom, so she gives her patented evil cackle. Unfortunately for her, it turns out Bloom escaped the trap, and ends up right behind our favorite witch, and gives the Ice Princess the cute smile/peace sign/cute giggle treatment before blasting HER into the ground. I just LOVED Bloom's cute routine, and you HAVE to download the ep on eMule [or tune in to Fox for the English version when they get to it] to see this scene for itself. Bloom's act is just too funny.

I actually had less mixed feelings than most of you. I loved this episode! (Shocking, isn't it? )Honestly, yes. It wasn't bad so much as "just stuff that kinda' happened." And it was nice and sweet. Maybe it's just because I'm a guy, but I still prefer the episodes that have a little more than a simple, relaxed episode.
Much as I like the sentimentality, I'd have preferred it with a side of action ;).

First, it didn't get pre-empted! The memorial started at 8:30 so I WAS able to see it. (Actually, record then watch later.)
Ok, the ep. I liked it.:) This centered on Bloom visiting her parents during Spring Break. It also showed that Bloom had a new ability: to see what people were really thinking through their shadows. I felt very sorry for Bloom's mom when her flower shop got trashed.:( At least, after the fire, Bloom was able to prove those 2 business goons were the culprits with help from the limo driver.
Of course, we also find out that she was left in the burning building when she was a baby. This raises a question: if she's not really from Earth, where did she originally come from? Plus, does she have any other powers that even she doesn't know about yet?
Hopefully next week's ep will give us a few answers.
Good ep. I give it 4 stars for Bloom.;)

I liked todays episode. A bit...I don't want to say boring, but not as exciting as others. But, a change of pace every now and then can be good.Yes to both points. It was different from the "action" episodes, but this episode did the sentimental thing quite well, so I liked it. Bloom got to use her Winx in a "normal" setting instead of the magical place, Alfea. Looks like it comes in handy.
Was there anything wrong with the episode? Yeah... everyone besides Bloom was hardly there, or missing entirely. Bloom isn't my favorite character, and certainly, this isn't the first episode to focus heavily on Bloom, but it is the first for which none of the other characters are there, either. The witches are completely absent; the other 4 Winx girls don't fare much better, only appearing at the very beginning and end of the episode, seemingly just for the sake of sticking them in the show.I didn't have a problem with this. More background on Bloom's character as she seems to be only one the mysterious past, so it is a given that more time would be devoted to her to develop her character.
And Mitzi is just funny. (Sounds like she's voiced by the same chick that does Musa.)I find a girl calling another girl a chick to be kind of funny.
The rabbit got a lot of screen time this time around and it was cute all around.
I do find it strange that Bloom reacted the way she did when her parents didn't tell her about the circumstances about her adoption. Especially when her father didn't tell her about her stopping the fire. Considering that her parents didn't even know magic exists, it would be strange to tell Bloom that it was her who stopped the fire.

*shrug* I often refer to other girls as chicks. I probably use that more than "girl," "woman," etc. I know a lot of other females who do it, too.

I really loved the episode. The only reason why Bloom is my favorite is because im always looking forward to learning about 'who' bloom really is.
And if everyone takes a closer look at the Crystal Ball video for next week, It'll already answer a few of those questions. Although I dont really like what i heard Bloom say at the end of the video, somehow i have a feeling its not true. (No, i wont quote what she says, because i dont know how to do spoiler tags). Anyone who's seen the series, can you let me know if what she says is true? Im just way too curious.
Yes, the most wonderfull quote..
"I know i'll help you Bloom, sticking my nose in other people's business is my favorite past-time." -Stella

From what I've seen on Darcy's LiveJournal community, Bloom's line at the end of this week's video suggested that according to the Cloud Tower book, her destiny was not as a fairy, but as (gasp!) a witch!!!
Of course, knowing what happened during the book's first appearance, I'm pretty sure this is another one of its patented lies. But, we shall see in 6 days.

Just occurred to my slow brain that they could use that line of Bloom's for a cliffhanger ending for next week. Except that they just gave us the spoiler in the preview. I would not be happy about that. I feel cliffhanged enough just from the preview!
I'm of the opinion that the book is controlled by witch magic (dark magic, if you will) and is telling a rather one-sided view of Bloom's past. She really should know better than to trust the word of a book that's in the Cloud Tower library.

Ms. Griffin also has some level of power over the book because in the episode where the girls first went to Cloud Tower, she did some sort of spell on the book to morph it...

Well said, Darcy. After all, Bloom is dealing with a college for evil witches and (except for a certain few, i.e. Mirta) the students there aren't exactly known for telling the truth.
My theory: The Treacherous Trio created that book to throw Bloom off her game just in case she started to question her origins.

Hi, everyone! Being a huge Winx Club fan, I couldn't help but get involved in this talkback...
So, about this 'Meant to Be' episode... what can I say, cute, and serves its purpose of getting the real storyline started. Even though there was little action, the sheer 'aww'-ness of the episode more than makes up for it (if you haven't guessed, I'm hugely sentimental... :D ).
So, well, I give it a 3.0 on the old scale. Nice episode, although not the best.
P.S.:
BTW, guys, since we're talking Winx Club here, I almost feel obliged to tell you that a lot of Italian people hate this show. They say it's a poor WITCH ripoff (which, having read WITCH, I feel is quite untrue), that the graphics are awful, et cetera. Surprising, isn't it? You'd think us Italians would stick up to our own products...

no it's not suprsing, WITCH came first in italy. but i think there is a big difference, looking at some of the credits for "WITCH" (the american version) series wise, work on a little more serious stuff..
anyways, The book could be onesided and not tell the truth but that "one sided" part of it, could always lead to something more. especially when they like to focus on that minor-witch (who's kinda nice) and her friend.

You'd think us Italians would stick up to our own products...The "Winx Club vs. W.I.T.C.H." debate has been going around these forums too since before the W.I.T.C.H. books were released (novels with the comic pages for the beginning and end of each one), and the Winx Club TV show aired here in the United States. I'm sure the debate will only get much more intense, when W.I.T.C.H. gets its own animated TV show too, airing on the Jetix TV channels across Europe. I'm 99% sure the debut of the W.I.T.C.H. animated TV series is at MIPCOM Junior show in Cannes, France, October 2.
As for this particular episode, I liked it, because it was unlike most other superpower shows, where other family members are kept completely in the dark about the hero or heroine's powers. I thought the two villains were a bit too much of what standard evil businessmen would be like.

Ba, the Crystal Ball video for the next episode doesnt look to interesting to me. At least im not possessed on waiting on the next episode like i was with this one. Ya, i know, next episode will explain more about Bloom's mysterious past (which is the only reason im hooked on the show, the Sneak Peek didnt get me hooked on Nothin'), But somehow, i dont think we'll learn much of anything new except lies from Cloud Tower.
Side note... notice how with 5 girls, getting out was difficult? What's Bloom thinking? more then likely there's gonna be trouble again in the tower like last time, except this time, there's only 2 people there, and I really dont think Brandon can make up for the other 4 girls (much less 1). I really think Brandon is the weaker of the boys (Timmy doesnt count). I mean a 1 handed sword doesnt go as far as Sky's 2 hander.. and Riven seems to have a tad bit more power then Brandon.

Mighty Bojingo, I think we'll learn more than you're aware. And looking at the non-Crystal Ball promo for next week's episode, we'll get another fight with the Trix, which we haven't gotten in a while, with Bloom and new frienemy encased in ice.
And I need a thesaurus--I must use "encased" more than anyone else on the planet :p.
If nothing else, the "W.I.T.C.H. Vs. Winx Club" debate has me curious about W.I.T.C.H. Considering how much I love Winx Club, though, it's pretty dang impossible that I'd like W.I.T.C.H. even more. I'll give it a chance, still, but methinks the people who are calling Winx Club a ripoff have not really given the show a fair shot.

The standard FoxBox promo showed the Winx girls, minus Bloom, fighting our Trio, with Bloom and our red-headed f(r)iend encased in ice. As for where you can see that promo... I'm sorry I don't know. Michael's site may have it eventually, but I can't promise you.

The newest news posting at Michael's Winx Club page sums up this week's episode more elequently than this whole group combined:
As soon as I saw the sneak peek music video at the end of the episode "Meant to Be" I knew the rumors would start, and they have. Ok to set the record straight, since that episode hasn't aired yet, we don't have enough information. Bloom is not a witch! We don't know the book is fact after all. The witches could have changed the words in the book, or created the book in the first place. Second, they could have cast a spell on it to show those visions. Also, when Bloom changes, she has Fairy Wings. No other witch in all of Cloud Tower has Fairy Wings!!! So you see, we don't have all the data to draw the right conclusions. These teaser videos certainly make us want the week to fly by so we can find out what happens!

I'm not that surprised. W.I.T.C.H. has for a long while been very popular in Europe after all, so it's only natural for Italians to support that product as the face of Italian comics/animation. And the comics seem to have better drawn characters and tighter scripting.

hi everybody,
since I am from Italy I feel obliged to reply about this.
In Italy Winx Club is now, by far much more popular than WITCH, since the TV and the licensing of Winx have a much stronger impact than a comic series.
As far as I can see, there are about 1.5 millions of people in Italy who love Winx Club (a couple of hundred thousands those who love WITCH).
If there are people who hate Winx Club they are only a few and they should be mostly the Disney associated, since the Winx Club has overtaken the popularity of their comic books.
In fact in the last few years other comics about young Witches apperead in Italy and has been quite successeful, but none of them has overtaken Disney's popularity of WITCH comics.
Since January 2004 when Winx Club cartoons first aired on RAI 2 and the 5 faires appeared in books, toys and comic magazines the popularity of the series has grown constantly, day after day, thanks to the sofisticated graphic desing and the complexity of the stories (please note that the show is created by the top italian cartoonist).
Disney probably feels very treatened by Winx Club because they can see the high quality of the series and they can forecast the success that this franchise is going to have worldwide.
Furthermore from the trailer of WITCH cartoon, that I have already seen, is very obvious that Disney is now trying to follow Winx Club, improving the graphic and the look of their main characters by getting the 13 years old girls of the Disney comics look like the 17 years old of Winx club team.
In other words they are drawing the WITCH girls less nerdy looking and older than the comics.
Moreover, where the WITCH cannot fly, but the one with the power of the air, (this is a main characteristic of WITCH comic, where it is written a few times that the girls have wings but they cannot fly but one of them) while now for the TV show, they all can fly, like in Winx Club.
Last but not least, I heard that SIP animation (former Saban Paris studio) has hired some of the team who worked for the Winx Club series, including some animator. I believe that even if they have to spread these bad rumors, they are trying to catch some of the magic ingredients of Winx Club success.
In my opinion, win the best! Next year WITCH cartoon series will debut on TV, so if they manage to produce a better show than Winx Club they will be more successful! By right they should, being the BIG Disney with a huge production budget, a lot of experience and a few millions for the marketing, against a small independent Italian studio. The battle will be tought, as Winx Club second season should be even better than the first one, since those guys at Rainbow has surely won experience and money from the first season. Let's see. We can only enjoy better cartoon series from such competition.
Hi, everyone! Being a huge Winx Club fan, I couldn't help but get involved in this talkback...

I just love the episodes where the witches AREN'T fighting the girls. Anyway, im looking forward to Bloom finding her birth parents and How/why she's on Earth.
P.S., When i said Sneak Peek, i meant the Sneak peek they aired 2 weeks before Episode 1. After the end of the Sneak Peek episode they said, "Now that we have you hooked on the WinxClub.....", just to mention, episode 1 got me hooked, not the sneak peek.. ^.^

I don't exactly look forward to the fights either, since my witches almost always lose. I prefer their plotting, their intrigues, etc. That's one of the reasons I really enjoyed the Miss Magix ep. Plain, old-fashioned mischief rocks. And so do little plots like the one to steal Stella's ring and the one to win Riven over. I love seeing things go right for the villains, at least for a little while. Gives a nice element of realism. No villain should be so stupid that they lose all the time, unless their sole purpose is comic relief.
I too would like to know Bloom's story, partly out of curiosity and mostly out of wanting it to be told already. It's taking too long. I want to move on to the next story arc. Then maybe she'll get over herself and become more likeable overall again. "I must find out all my deliciously secret secrets, no matter what it takes. I am the star, you know. Oh, I'm sorry, did you get killed in one of my escapades, Flora? So sorry. We'll miss you. Okay, so me."
As for WITCH, I doubt I'll watch it. I don't like the sound of it, don't care for the designs or the younger characters. I feel old enough watching a show about 16 and 17 year olds! And I don't like the crazy fanbase that attacks Winx for no good reason, casting a blind eye to the similarities of their show with others. *cough*SailorMoon*cough*
And as for Michael's news, I have to say he sounds a bit hypocritical. He is upset at people for discussing the possibility that Bloom may be a witch, saying "we don't have all the data to draw the right conclusions." But before he says that, he goes off saying Bloom's definitely not a witch because of this, this and this. Uh...if we haven't seen the ep yet, then we don't have enough data to be sure then do we? Nope. Yes, she's most likely not a witch, but that's not certain. We won't know for sure until we see the episode and in all likelihood we won't find out the real answers even then. So it's a waste of time to berate people for having fun with harmless conjecture.

Might as well put my $0.02 in on the W.i.t.c.h. subject.
I've been a big advocater on the W.i.t.c.h. series ever since Tommy Lawson's February post that introduced the TZ community to the comics. The more I read and see about the series, the more I end up looking forward to the animated run. (And carlos' trailer post only serves to add fuel to the fire.)
However, I also loved the concept of Winx ever since the first trailers aired back in March. I've already given my opinion of the sneek peek episode, and (with a few exceptions) the series has gotten off to a pretty good start.
So, I say, let the best show win. I'll still be watching Winx Club for the next 12 weeks and beyond, but, as I've said numerous times at these forums, W.i.t.c.h. will also share some of my attention when it debuts.
That is all.

Ok, time to be evil and bluntly change the subject ^.^!
A friend of mine who's also hooked on Winx Club, believes that Mirta (everyone's fav. Red-Head witch from Cloud Tower) is really Bloom's sister. He says she looks like Bloom. I'm not really sure if this is true or not, Probably part of a story plot in a future episode, if not, maybe they've got something about this going on season 2.
Anyone got any comments/ideas/theories on my friend's assumption? (Trying to get him to participate in these forums.)

I sincerely doubt she's Bloom's sister. I've heard a lot of people say they look alike, but I don't think they do at all. Okay, they both have red hair, but it's not nearly the same shade.
Besides, I know Bloom has a sister and I know who she is, and it's not Mirta.

Bloom = Clark Kent origin
This would be somewhat more exciting if it wasn't already obvious to the audience (while the Winx girls remain oblivious) that Bloom is the avatar or whatever of the fire dragon.

Well, Ms.Faragonda already knows Bloom has the Dragonfire, and so does the Witches. The girls know she pretty much has a massive supply of power and so does the boys, but it's only a matter of time till they figure out WHAT her source of power is. I just cant figure out why Bloom hasn't put 2 and 2 together yet. She was 'meant' to go into the restricted vault and 'meant' to read about the Great Dragon. So Bloom should have been able to put 2 and 2 together that she's somehow connected to the Great Dragon and Sparx. But i still dont know how Daphne (that imp in Blooms Dream) is connected with the Dragonfire.
If im not mistaken, when they say 'Dragonfire', they mean the same Dragonfire that the Great Dragon used to create the magical realms right? Anyway, from the preview of the next episode, I think maybe the book may be real, but Bloom just misinterpreted it (my opinion). It maybe that Daphne (Imp) might have sent Bloom to earth (Dragonfire and all) while she was a baby just before the Witches got to her. Bloom probably thought that the witches created her or something. (Just a speculation)

You've seen the trailer for the animated TV series? A trailer wasn't even present for Comic-con, the big comic event in San Diego in America, and I've heard nothing about one on the Jetix Europe site. Either way, the worldwide debut of the W.I.T.C.H. animated TV series is defintely, for sure, without a doubt, at MIPCOM Junior (http://www.mipcomjunior.com) October 2 and 3, 2004, where we'll see if what you say about the W.I.T.C.H. animated TV show is true. One advantage I can definitely see right now for W.I.T.C.H. is the fact it can, and very likely, will be airing on both weekend days, Saturday, and Sunday, while Winx Club is forced to air on Saturday in most markets (or Sunday in a few others), so Winx Club fans can at least check out W.I.T.C.H. on Sundays. I'd also encourage people not to judge the animated W.I.T.C.H. TV series until at least a couple of episodes have aired, since it is ironic, that people around here started to bash and trash the Winx Club when it premiered too.

Just kidding! (Even though i was slightly offended when people started bashing WinxClub.) I'm gonna give it a shot. Then we can officially vote to see which show is better. No crap about which one came out first or what-not, Its all about storyline, character personalities, etc.
I personally dont care if a show is a rip-off of another. As long as a show is entertaining and doesnt rip-off episode after episode, I dont mind. If 1 is the rip-off of another, I wouldn't care because i would get to watch TWO all-new sets of episodes about the SAME thing but with DIFFERENT ideas!! :D (Now lets see how many people actually understood what i said.)
If its true that Winx Club and Witch is the same thing but with a few differences, and they air on Sat. AND Sun., then i'd be a very happy person. Since because im possessed with WinxClub, i'll be possessed with Witch and have TWO series to be possessed with.. Double the trouble and twice the fun! mwahahahahaha!.
/end Hyper-active gibberish
P.S.: Those of you who noticed or haven't noticed.. Yes, today I have been spending WAYYY too much time on these forums because the game server that i regularly play on is down at the moment (ARG! someone needs a computer reset  ).

Dear Tommy,
the trailer was shown just recently to many of us from Disney publishing people during the last meeting at the Elba Island in Italy.
Myself and many other journalists, script writers and cartoonists, saw it for the first time. SIP people were also there.
Moreover I was told from people who attended the Licensing Show, since I was not there that a trailer of WITCH was showns already on the big screen of Disney's booth at the last Licensing Show in NY.
The trailer apparently was running almost every 10 minutes, in between of other Disney's cartoons. Anyway this I hear from other people and I did not see with my eyes.

Briefly moving on to another Winx-related topic, seeing as it's all the rage these days. :D
The first U.S. toy commercial is out. I ran into it on Nickelodeon 10 minutes ago. So, be on the look out for that.

I saw the commercial a couple of nights ago on CN. Although Bloom could've been made better, I think they look nice.:) I would want all 5 members, even if I'm a 32-year-old male.:p

haven't seen the commercial yet, but im watching out for it. I've seen some of Darcy's Winx dolls on her Theatres at LJ. And yes, they could have done better with Bloom. I mean goodness, the cartoon has a unique drawing design, why not have a unique doll design?

personally, i think all the dolls look fine. the kim possible dolls are worse IMO (design wise)
but i have bloom and, maybe it's just me but she looks fine?

I think they did very well with most of the dolls. Their bodies are awesome. I love their poseability and petite frame. The hands are very cool. Rarely do you see a doll that's actually got separate fingers. Usually all four are molded together.
Their faces are darling, especially Tecna and Icy. Musa is cute, too, though I would have put a touch of red on her lips.
The clothing has awesome detail and for the most part is easy to put on. The only piece I'm not fond of is Bloom's t-shirt. It's a little bit bulky because it's made of the same thick material as her pants. Their shoes really rock. I love the detail on them, especially Stella's flower sandals.
I would say my biggest complaint is their hair. Tecna, Musa and Icy all have excellent hair, but Stella, Flora and Bloom have more problems. Bloom and Flora have very frizzy, cottony hair. I would have preferred silky, shiny hair that actually laid right. The two of them both have the short bangs around their faces, but they don't lay properly. Stella's hair is styled fine, it's just the same cottony texture as Bloom and Flora's.
But overall, I adore the dolls, as anyone who's seen my many picture stories in LiveJournal can tell you. :) Now if they'd only make Darcy and Stormy!

They need the Red-Fountain boys too, and the Alfea/Red-Fountain faculty staff too.. (ESPECIALLY WIZGIT/WIZZIT) Wizgit/Wizzit is VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Brandon's on his way in December or earlier. Everyone else is up in the air. I think Darcy and Stormy are the most important to have next, but then I would think that. I'd love to see Mirta, too. I'd buy Riven, but I dunno about Sky and Timmy. I'd end up with them for pic fic purposes, but that's about it. I'm not a big fan of the boys, except for Riven and, to some extent, Brandon.

Personally i dont think the book bloom found was lying 1:the cloud tower witches may actually need it cuz its part of the library so why make it false
2:i dont think they think she would get curious
3:and if they laid it as a trap shouldn't it show where for her to go or somethin for a ambush?

A lot of interesting discussion this week as we reach halftime in Season 1. Episode 13, "Meant to Be," was spectacular, if only because I'm such a Bloom-fanatic and this episode made me fall in love with her all over again. I'm going against my normal grading system and giving this a 3.5 out of 4.
* You knew it was coming... or maybe you didn't. The series does come out of Italy, and that means eventually, the 'mobsters offering protection' come a knockin'.
* Today, for the first time, I noticed Kiko sitting on the Fox Box on the commercial catch. Has he/she always been there?
+ Who couldn't love the bonding between Bloom and her mom, especially with her using her powers to save the day several times! It just wants to make you go 'Awww...'
* (QOTW) "What do you mean you found me in a fire?"
- Bloom... who was probably dropped in the worst place ever to get adopted
On the dolls: Haven't see the commercial, but hope to. Don't know if I'll get the dolls, but if they look good enough... I'll be getting at least either a Bloom or a Flora.
Fave. girls through 13 episodes: Flora & Bloom (tied), Tecna, Musa, and Stella
On Winx and W.I.T.C.H.: I really don't care much about the comparisons. Both shows look(ed) promising, and I intend to watch both if they live up to their names. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but as for myself, I can't resist watching a few girls showing off some magic powers every week.
That's it for this week! This week Winx moves to 8:30, and with one big kicker waiting! This ought to be good... I can't wait!
