Progeria - nature's cruelest joke.

Seriously though, shades of Akira! Psychics that get old and wrinkly?

Good to see some new stuff with Black Ghost.

Not a bad episode. Pretty good actually. I've been missing Cyborg 009 for weeks due to a problem so it was nice to catch it when things are starting to heat up again.

Pretty shocking stuff there, it had been awhile since I saw 009, but this was a good episode, and had a lot of foreshadowing too.

Why don't they switch this with .Hack? I mean, it sucks to stay up till 2:00 just for Cyborg 009...

The return of Black Ghost, or should I say Gammo Asimov.

Finally Cyborg 009 returns to its roots, and regains its classic mood. The assasians return, and that means the "00" Cyborgs once again turn into the targets. Hopefully within the upcoming weeks, we will see if the holy one [Black Ghost] actually perished.

4.5/5

I mean, it sucks to stay up till 2:00 just for Cyborg 009...Well, you could always record it.

Anyway, I really liked this episode. I was on the edge of my seat for pretty much the whole time. Very ominous, which made it all the more enjoyable. Can't wait to see where it goes from here!

"The New Assassins" gets a 5/5.

so we have the third 003 lookalike of the season! she's cuter then the others at least! the return of BG means less civilian cyborg time :( to bad I loved their normal clothes especially Joe's! he has style!

this group of super psychics is just no fair! only 001 can stand up to them since he is the most powerful and now he is back to sleep! its now or never. our heroes need some serious upgrades even Joe who had gotten one earlier in the season or else its going to be all over in a bad way!

premieres shouldn't take precedence over stability unless you enjoyed that time when it seemed like AS's schedule was changing every week

Did anyone notice a certain similarity between the vocies of the transvestite from Rurouni Kenshin, and the dark haired female psychic in this episode?

Finally, Black Ghost.

I was getting sick and tired of non-Black Ghostiness.

1. Hmmm... CN actually let them kill a guy. I guess that's what stealth airing does to ya.

1b. Though I was wondering why 001 couldn't have countered the telepathy-kill, or at least figured out immediately they're dealing with psychics. Use the force, Ivan!

2. Ah, finally, somebody addressed the issue of always having to take on pretty girls and having to deal with the issue of hurting them. How chivalrous! :D

Ah, the start of another story arc. Hopefully this will prove to be entertaining the whole way through. It sure got off to a good start...

What an underrated series. It's a shame, because it really deserves more attention (and a better timeslot).

Seems like this is the work of a former Black Ghost scientist with a grudge, rather than the entire organization itself. Although the assassains did mention the orginization a few times.

Also:

The CN logo obstruction only showed the "assass" of assassains.

They flashed back to the dog Joe killed in the banned episode. Cute puppy.

Poor 008 is useless again!

I'm confused. I know the banned episode featured the puppy, but right after that portion of the flashback, they showed Joe taming some type of other dog (posing similarities more towards a wolf).

What time was that? Anyway, they should have put 009 before .Hack when they first started airing, since 009 is longer than .Hack.

Crap. Next time I decide to take a "little nap" when a show is gonna be on, I'm setting my alarm and the VCR.

Same dog. It mutated out of control, so Joe blew it's brains out. Not very graphic, CN didn't air it because they're crazy.

Yes, that's Sonja S. Fox. She's also Kamui in .hack//Legend of the Twilight.

Here I was thinking the episodes had gone down hill since Black Ghost disappeared, and then BAM!, they excel higher than ever before. I can't wait to see what this Labyrinth they are building up to is all about, and I can't wait to see what happens with these new cyborgs.

Hey, are we being cheap and using the same talkback? :D

1. Did that pretty fluffy-haired psychic just see the future? It had lasers and all.

1b. Either that, or she just read CN's BS&P people's minds. All guns=lasers, get it? :D

2. Finally, they had some use for 002's acceleration mode. They kept under-utilizing it.

3. I'm wondering why 001 delayed telling the other cyborgs what the psychics' plan was. And still, he told only 009.

Yes, that's Sonja S. Fox. She's also Kamui in .hack//Legend of the Twilight. Really? I was convinced she was Melodee Spevack, the voice of Digimon's LadyDevimon and Birdramon.

Or is this another case of a VA using multiple names?

Yes, it's another case of multiple names. Sonja S. Fox is Melodee M. Spevack's non-union equivalent.

Hey EmperorBrandon, are you the user of the same name over at GameFAQs by any chance?

I was wondering who played the assassin named Lina in this episode (silver-ish hair) because I've never heard her before in Bang Zoom! stuff. My friend Pokejedservo thinks she might be a new recruit from California like how Cagalli's VA from Gundam SEED is, relatively speaking, a rookie.

EmperorBrandon

Yes, I'm the same EmperorBrandon. :)

Anyway, I haven't got a clue so far on Lina's voice actress. It's possibly one of the LA VA's that I can't recognize by voice all that well. For titles from studios that share the Animaze and Bang Zoom! talent pool, newcomers tend to pretty rare as compared to other studios.
