Anyone hear anything else about that upcoming Tom and Jerry direct-to-video release? When is it coming out? I saw an ad for a new Game Boy Advance game called "Tom and Jerry: the Magic Ring". Obviously the video and the game are related, but I'm still wondering about the video. I really hope it retains the spirit of the original cartoons, but what are the odds it will be animated by a Japanese animation unit or something.

Well, it has been confirmed that Tom and Jerry WILL NOT TALK (whooooopppppiiiiiieeee!!!!) in the movie. So it will at least be more true to the cartoons than that last awful movie.

Well, it is supposedly about a magic ring that gets stuck over Jerry's head, and it can make Tom a lot of money or grant him power or something, so he tries to kill Jerry to get it off. I's done by the guys who did "Sylvester And Tweety Mysteries", and that's all I know.

Done by what guys exactly: the writers or the animators. I really cant see Tom and Jerry being animated by Tokyo Movie Shinsa.

Matthew was referring to the same writers behind The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries and Tweety's High-Flying Adventure. I have no idea who did the animation . It is being released by Warner Home Video on December 4.

Tom Minton has his finger in this. It was just about completed it when I spoke to him. I'm a little vague on what his position was, but I think he produced and wrote. I'll check my archives and see.
