This is for people who have seen Mighty Max (The show with the boy,the owl and the strong guy who battle the Skullmaster). I remember seeing this episode of it when little. It has this vampire lady who barfs green acid that burns things. Has anyone seen this episode and what is it called?

I believe it was "Fly by Night"

I remember that one. It was the story that played off of Virgil's reluctance to believe that the vampire legends might not be entirely true. It seems that vampires in Mighty Max are really more closely related to flies than bats.

By the way, Virgil was not an owl, he was a fowl (or at least, that's what he called himself). Though, Max kept calling him a chicken.

what was the strong dude's name? I think it started with an "N".

Anyway, i remember the episode with the strong dude's challenge and Max offers himself as the Strong dude's weapon.

This episode only reinforced my fear of maggotts.

The one that always grossed me out was, "Clown Without Pity."

Norman and Virgil get turned into side-show freaks, then later are nearly melted into goo.

Mighty Max was a great cartoon. I wish that some network would run it.

Oh. Thanks fo answering my question. Also, what is that episode where Norman eats french fries as a power-up or health booster? I think he was trapped in a video game of some sort.

The video game episode was "Cyberskull Virus."

That was a good series. It was some real quality work by Film Roman. I liked the Cyberskull one. I also liked the one where Max was trapped in a Turkish prison where a dead cyclops was in the basement, but the cyclops' eye was still alive. The crawling eye was just a cool monster.

Fly by Night is one of my favorite episodes of any animated series. The maggots drinking from pools of human blood, the maggot tidal wave, and the vampire herself are supremely badassed. The show had a lot of edge.

The cyclops is one of my favorites as well, but giant eyeballs have always been one of my favorite monster archetypes. It was just generally a creative episode, though.

If I recall correctly, nearly every episode was based on one of the playsets, but only loosely. I still have the "vampire fly" set somewhere, but it involves a fly-man with an evil laboratory. Nothing to do with vampires. Still, they were cool toys...really gruesome.

Mighty Max was a great cartoon. I wish that some network would run it. I think it did ran (briefly) on the Sci-Fi Channel back in late 90's/early '00 via DKN.

Remember the episode with the Viking wizard awakening Norman's old nemesis, a mountain-sized dragon? Best Action/Adventure episode of the 1990s. Loved every minute of it, including almost every line of dialogue. MArk Zaslove is a freak and a genius. Half of the stuff he penned for Season 1 was fantastic, funny, and fericiously entertaining.

I gotta pull out my old Season 1 MM eps.

I think it did ran (briefly) on the Sci-Fi Channel back in late 90's/early '00 via DKN.It also ran along side alot of animated originals (Savage Dragon, Mortal Kombat) on the USA Network on Saturday mornings. Then Max fell off of American schedules along with most of Saturday morning cartoon programming...

Virgil summons four legendary heroes:
Beowulf,
Mujaji (I have yet to find any sources for her, other than references to an African "Rain-Queen."),
Yuna-Yahi (Best guess on spelling. I have yet to find a source for him, too.),
and Hanuman, the Hindu Monkey King, to back up Max on a suicide attack against Skullmaster.

By the time it's over, Max has both scored his first great victory and watched four noble souls go down fighting.

Truly, one of the greatest moments of the series was the ending:

Max constructs a shrine to the four heroes in his backyard, incorporating Beowulf and Hanuman's helmets, Yuna-Yahi's final arrow, and Mujaji's ball-point and clipboard. As he walks away in silence, a butterfly lands upon the shrine. Could it be Hanuman reincarnated?

Yeah, I collected most of them. If I remember correctly, the only non-toy-based one was the one with the underwater zombies.

The loosest adaptation was the "corpus" one. The toy had a graverobber and zombie, the cartoon had a mad scientist and a "glue monster" that absorbed people.

The only downside to Mighty Max was the fact that Virgil the Owl Mage died.

The only downside to Mighty Max was the fact that Virgil the Owl Mage died.

In the final episode, Max was able to turn back time to when he became 'The Chosen One' , with both him and Virgil having the knowledge of everything that's happened. Assuming he puts that to use, Norman and Virgil never die the second time around

I don't think I have seen the final episode,though.
