The show premieres this Saturday at 7pm (ET).

"One of the things we realized early on with this show (is) when you get this much super power in one group, you kind of have to up the ante," Timm said to the Comics Continuum website. "You can't just have them fighting a bunch of thugs in a warehouse anymore. We have them tossing planets and stuff like that all the time. It makes the show difficult, but fun to do."

Bruce Timm continued, explaining the the show will be below Earth's orbit.

"In the current JLA comics they have their headquarters out on the moon, which is a little big far out for us," Timm said.

In the pilot, Batman reveals the satellite was created secretly using funds from WayneTech. The satellite will now be used to observe and stop alien forces from attacking Earth.

"It's like the old JLA satellite," Timm said. "Thematically, I like it because it's nice knowing that there's these wonderful beings floating in space above us to protect us when we get in trouble."

In order to transport to the satellite, the Justice League members will use a ship called Javellin - 7. The ship will be used instead of the comic book's transport beams.

"Their headquarters are out in space, so they needed a way to get to and from it,"Timm said to the Comics Continuum website. "And we didn't want to do Star Trek's transporters. I knew they had the transporters in the comics for a long time, but for us it made the show a little bit too easy. And the idea of Batman saying, 'Beam me up, J'onn,' seemed a little too weird, so we gave them a spacecraft - and it will make a terrific toy."

The official formation of the Justice League happens in the satellite, dubbed "Watchtower".
