CN wishes us a Happy Veteran's Day...
Popeye: "Fleets of Stren'th" (03/13/42)
Popeye: "Blunder Below" (02/13/42)
Popeye: "A Jolly Good Furlough" (04/23/43)
Popeye: "Many Tanks" (05/15/42)
Popeye: "The Mighty Navy" (11/14/41)
Popeye: "A Hull of a Mess" (10/16/42)
Popeye: "I'm in the Army Now" (12/25/36)
Tonight's all-Popeye LNB&W lineup was even better than "The Popeye Show". Seven WWII-era Popeye cartoons, many of which I've never seen air on CN before. Whoever put this episode together, thank you!

I have seen most of those cartoons on Cartoon Network, but outside of "Hull of a Mess" none seem to be in the regular rotation nd are only occassional visitors to the channel's lineup
Also, CN did do a Veteran's Day version of The Chuck Jones Show tonight, though those cartoons weren't as rare as the Popeyes on LNB&W:
Old Glory
The Draft Horse
Forward, March Hare

And Blunder Below had the Japanese "So sorry"s censored, making it an edited version. No edits on Jolly Good Furlough, though :)
I loved this one! The WWII Popeyes are my near-favorites, second only to the 1935-1939 period.

...and still, no Bosko, no Buddy. At least CN had a good excuse this time since it is Veterans Day.
By the way, LNBW had a good way of remembering those Vets who fought and died for our country. Even those now fighting the War On Terrorism can be considered Veterans.

Even Droopy and Popeye had some WWII cartoons, exept for the last Popeye one! I counted a total of 12(!) wartime cartoons from the begginig of LNB&W to the end of Popeye!!! The last one was war associated, because of the admiral, but not really a WWII cartoon. It's twelve thanks to that 7th LNB&W short,(Thank you)!!! I would have liked to see "Spinach fo Britain", since I've never seen it, but no complaints.:D
