The site that cannot be named has up some stills from The Batman teaser commercial.

Take a look at the picture at the very lower right...looks like the ventriloquist to me...and i must say, having scarface as a giant machine, is definitely a HUGE derivation from what we're used to.

Who knows, could turn out to be a great choice.

Do you mean a deviation from what we're used to?

Bt the way, whats up with "the site that can't be named" stuff on the boards? Its not like one board is taking "business" from the other....or that there is any real money being made.

People are putting too much onto one screen shot. If I used one screen shot each for Wonder Woman, Batman, and Super Girl for this season of Justice League Unlimited I could make it look like they were making Batman 9, Wonder Woman a farm animal, and giving Super Girl a new uniform.

It's either a dream the Ventriloquist has to symbolize his relationship with Scarface or there might be an episode where Scarface is able to do away with his the Ventriloquist and takes the form of a giant robot. Either way for the most part Scarface is going to be most likely a small dummy.

While that's definitley Scarface and the Ventriloquist I agree with the above post mabye the two just build a giant robot in one episode for some reason

Yeah...a deviation from every incarnation of scarface ever, since he's always been a small dummy in comics and on tv.

I don't know why they won't let us say the site name, i think it's in the world's finest FAQ.

Well that's why it was just an observation, not something i decided to base the whole series on

Or scarface is a giant in this version. You know just as little as i do, so it's certainly possible this is scarface's incarnation in this series.

I'm hoping - and expecting - this is just a symbolic depiction of the Scarface/Ventriloquist relationship. That said, if Scarface was a big giant rock creature, I'd be open minded enough to give it a chance.

I would bet on the symbolic dream sequence angle. It certainly does paint an interesting picture—Ventriloquist may be one of the lamer villains, but he's also one of the most psychologically intriguing. This screen actually reminds me of a scene from Arkham Asylum: Living Hell, in which several inmates are transformed into horrifying, grotesque versions of themselves. Ventriloquist appeared to have a giant Scarface growing out of his arm.

At any rate, it'll be an interesting take no matter what.

Looking forward to seeing some differences and deviations from what we've seen before in the Batman saga - this version seems willing to take some chances.

A rather interesting role reversal that comes completely out of left-field, which is what the new show seems to be giving us.

Since we're not getting normal versions of Joker or Freeze either, at least they did something new with the guy rather than rehashing his BTAS/TNBA look.

Not going to get rid of that Scarface by tossing him in a wood-chipper! (Well, maybe a humongous one.)

Yesh....how's Batman supposed to beat THAT?

Yesh....how's Batman supposed to beat THAT?By waking up The Ventriloquist.

There is no way they modifed the chracter that much, it has to be a dream of some sort. No matter what any of you think of The Batman I refuse to believe they would go that far.

I'm not saying your wrong because there is a possibilty your right. However you're probably most likely wrong.

Or the Joker for that matter. I don't care what anybody says, that design is just as far out as the Bane one. And I wouldn't be surprised if this WAS normal Scarface.

But that said, I really do hope it's NOT. As then we'd have Killer Croc, Clayface, Scarface and Bane all as over the top muscle. Although, Clayface could be interesting if he's played like the DCAU one... so I hesitate to put him on that list.

Either way for the most part Scarface is going to be most likely a small dummy. Most people are assuming this is probably the shows design for Scarface because.....all the shows designs have been waaaaay out there so far. Mr. Freeze has an ice cube for a head. Bane is RED. Catwoman's goggles are bigger than her face. Joker is just a garrish mishmash of colors. So I don't think it's too much of a stretch to think this is the way they're going with Scarface. Though a dream seqence is possible.

And for the record, I hope they don't go this way. Scarface is a normal guy with a split personality. Not....a Thing look alike.

Heres a grab me and BG got from the episode I havent seen anywhere else, it was just a glimpse but it is from the same Scarface sequence and shows some kind of rings on Scarface's hand, which makes me think its not a dream.

i can imagine what fans would have said had we had the internet back in 1986: "Batman is too huge!" "A girl as Robin?!" "Superman should look stronger."

i won't get on a soapbox about this series. however, since i'm in a decent mood i'll spoil the answer in case you really, really want to know...

Neither Arnold Wesker or Batman are having a dream during the screencap of the fight sequence. Scarface had a master plan and you'll see the results once the episode airs... and i believe the title for this episode is "Big Dummy."
