I learn on Cartoon Network web site was The Chuck Jones Show as replaced the sunday at 8:30pm by the new series Justice League. Isn't it the end of the Chuck Jones Show?

If it is then it's not much of a loss. CN had the chance to create something special, but screwed it up.

I forgot all about that show. It's nothing special.

The Chuck Jones show was just a bunch of overplayed cartoons we've all seen about a million times. And there's no way anyone can consider Jones' Tom and Jerry shorts to be classics. If anyone else had made these abominations, I'm sure they wouldnt get as much play as they do.

Amen to all your comments.
This is really depressing to me, since there are so many of his cartoons that don't get much airplay, he's the only Warners director still living - and he's my favorite...

I didn't start watching the CJS until the summertime when my bowling league is off for the season. I was pretty disappointed with this show, mainly because it was the same cartoons we see all the time on the "ACME HOUR" or the "Bugs & Daffy" show. If maybe they had formatted the show like the Bob Clampett Show, it might have had a chance of attracting more viewers.

I also found it to be a real put-off by broadcasting cartoons that Jones didn't even direct (such as some of the MGM T & J cartoons he produced ) and who could overlook the mistakes by CN by playing McKimson cartoons?!? What's next - a long-overdue "Friz Freleng" show with Rudy Larriva 'Road Runner' cartoons?!?

I'm not going to miss that show at all. It sucked!!! I liked it about as much as the T.A. Show. At least that one gives you a little information!

Frankly TCJS plain sucked. I can't wait for Justice League.

What is "Justice League?" Is that one of those new shows that CN produces?

Yes, it's a superhero team with Superman, Batman, etc. premiering Sat.

I agree with all of you, I thought the Chuck Jones show was worthless. I may have tuned in 4 times at most, the only thing I enjoyed was the opening sequence. I love Chuck Jones and his cartoons, but this show had no reaso to exist, they play his stuff on a regular basis, and that's enough. I don't think his Tom and Jerry cartoons are horrible, but they aired ABE LEVITOW cartoons. THAT sucks. Perhaps what I didn't like the most was the lack of any information in the bumpers, and believe me, there's lots of info on Chuck. He's very interesting, I encourage you to read his two books. Why have a show devoted to his cartoons with no information about them? They could just do a series of Acme Hours and do better than this. If you really want to learn about his toons themselves, watch "Extremes and Inbetweens", a documentary produced for PBS and released on video. Good riddance, CJS!

Only this is from the same people who did various Batman: The Animated Series on Kids WB. So it won't really be like any other original CN show.

Yes, considering that Chuck is still alive (unlike the other directors with their own show), they could have easily gotten some good info straight from the source. It's no surprise that, although this show has lots of cartoons to fill up the time, it still managed to have what was apparently a very short run.

Ya know fellas, one thing that we might be overlooking... Chuck may be UNWILLING to participate in the CJS !!! AOL's imperious decision to slaughter the Warner Bros. stores has undoubtedly hit Chuck (and daughter Linda) hard in the pocketbook... Why wouldn't they interview him?? (Maybe THEY have turned down the requests from CN!!). And they CAN'T quote his books without his permission. Just a thought...

No one cares about the Chuck Jones Show. What cartoon conoisoir show (as I call it) they really need to bring back is O Canada! It would fit in Adult Swim better than repeats. If CN won't show it A&E could.

Other shows they should show along those lines:

Friz Freleng Show
International Cartoons Show
Silent Cartoons Show
Writings On the Wall: Short-Lived Series (forgotten cartoon series with commentary about how they couldn't find their audience)

Who agrees?

I like that! Especially your Writings On the Wall idea. That would be a great showcase for Flip the frog and the van Bueren toons. They could probably pull that off easily if they wanted to, because aren't a lot of the Flip the Frogs and van Buerens in the public domain?

Thanks! Another idea could be to have a animated music block like Beatle's Yellow Submarine.
