Hey all,

I'm not sure how many of you know this, but this site host a newspage called THE WORLD'S FINEST NEWSPAGE (now THE WORLD'S FINEST HEADLINES) and we have just got done revamping it and putting it up on it's new server, here at toonzone. I know some newspage regulars have already noticed this, and I'd like to hear your opinions on our new newspage:

Enjoy!

Hi DG!

I just got done checking out the new newspage, and I think it looks great! I like the new banners and color scheme. The grey background makes thngs easier to read. I hope this page sticks around for a long time! Kudos to you and the rest of the WF news team!

However, there are some problems. The first one is with the dates. You have them listed as "Tuesday, 29, 2001, by Dick Grayson". As you can see, the month (May in this case) is missing. This may confuse readers, especially when several months pass and they are reading these messages through the archives. I think including the month will make things a lot easier on both the author and the readers.

The next two problems are with the material itself. First, the picture of Batman Beyond 21's cover is not showing up. Second, the Superman schedule for the Cartoon Network is wrong. Everything is pushed back one day because CN aired Dragonballz Z on Friday at 5 instead of "The Demon Reborn". That episode aired on Tuesday, when "In Brightest Day" was supposed to air. I imagine that will air on Wednesday, which pushes "Superman's Pal" to Thursday and "Little Big Head Man" on Friday. This would also push "Last Son of Krypton: Part 1" from the schedule, which would also make sense because CN is pulling Superman before the other to parts could air. I just wanted to let you know so viewers wouldn't be confused.

Other than these little snags, the new news page is great! I'll be visiting it every day! Keep up the great work!

Have a newsworthy day!

nerdgirl :)

I've added the Month to the updates. I can't believe I overlooked that! So the line now reads "Tuesday, May 29th, 2001". Also, as for the BB #21 cover - it should load. It loads perfectly for me and the rest of the newscrew. ns finally the Superman schedule, I'll change that ASAP! Thank you, nerdgirl, for your response! Without you, I doubt I would've noticed these mistakes!

I love it. only problem I have w/ the headlines part, is it's White backround (I think nerdgirl said it was grey..but it looks white to me). Takes away the vengence...the power...the..oh wait, it's a news page, not Batman's cape. Anyway Great design..it'll make things easier to read

We still may tweak the background a bit, but I'm glad you folks like it so far. It is radically diferent from the ol done, but we just didn't want to simply copy the old one. We'll still have the same great news, but an al new great look!

I like it DickGrayson. I think it is definitely an improvement from the original. I actually kinda like the white background.:)

Hey:

I went on early today, and I must say that it really is a change from the old news page. I really like it, I especally like the options you have that if you want to go to the message boards that you can click on the icon and it sends you straight to the boards, great job. But the only thing I hate is the backround, it makes the news page plain looking, and I miss the red bars that said it was tuesdays news and not todays. I go down the page and I was reading last nights news instead of todays. But all and all great job, but fix those miner detailes.

I agree. The big date banners were a plus for the old one. That way it's easier to tell what i've already read w/o reading it again.

Also, the background does lack something. I understand how you want it different from the old, but the white is just too plain. Maybe something else that is still different?

Well, these are just my opinions. Still the same great news!

Its okay, I prefer the old one more though. You should maybe add some padding to the blue table so the text doesn't run right up to the edge.

Inque & myself will get on your suggestions, and hopefully get some things straightened out. We're still toying around with the look abit so expect a few more tweaks here and there over the next week or so before we settle completely on the look. I'm glad it's being received so well.

couple of things:

the whole date thing was intentional. DG wanted it that way in the beginning! don't deny it dg, you know you told me to do it like that!

same story with the blue banner!
