What do you think is the most painful thing you've seen in a cartoon?

A FEATHER IN HIS HARE- Bugs is mistaken for a bow and arrow, and Bugs gets shot across the plain. Bugs shouts out "So long, Screw! See you in St. Louis!" And, then Bugs crashes right smack into a tree!

HARE RIBBIN- The original ending where Bugs blows up the dog. i'll bet that was painful for the dog!

DAFFY DUCK & EGGHEAD- the part where Egghead shoots an audience member.

RHAPSODY RABBIT- same as above.

THE DUCKSTERS- same as above.

Oh, and let's not forget all the times the Coyote plummeted from those high cliffs!

The 1962-72 version of Woody Woodpecker, I'd say. (Sorry for changing your context, but I just couldn't resist that one.)

TRAP HAPPY - A lot of scenes, especially where the Exterminator Cat accidentally chops Tom's tail off, and where the bottom of the wall filled with nails comes crashing down on the Tom and the other cat's fingers, then Jerry smashes both of their fingers with a hammer.

Just about every scene in MOUSE TROUBLE.

The ending of HARE RIBBIN'

Many scenes in Clampett cartoons from 1943-1946.

The more violent, the more funnier. :D

Some of my picks...

In "Tee for Two" (1945) where Tom tries to elude a horde of angry hornets by diving into a water hazard using a blow tube for air. Jerry catches on to Tom's hiding place and places a funnel into his blow tube inviting the hornets to swarm through the funnel ultimately into Tom's very throat! His response (he emerges from the lake screaming like mad) is best not imagined.

Also here's something from a Disney cartoon. In "The Army Mascot" (1942), two scenes look particularly painful to me. When Gunther Goat first chases Pluto off, he gets ready to butt Pluto in the predictable region. To make sure he gets him in the right spot, he carves an "X" into Pluto's rear end with his horns then butts him painfully into the fence then over it. Secondly, later in the cartoon, Pluto tries to impress the army denizens by chewing an entire stick of tobacco. Gunther fears this may be a threat to his job security so he nips his competition in the bud by butting his opponent causing him to swallow the tabacco whole! Pluto's response to swallowing the tobacco is almost gut-wrenching (his eyes swell with tears, his tail wilts, his ears curl up and unfurl like party favors, and his whole body turns a variety of colors, even his tongue).

I also hate the scene in "Jumping With Toy" (1957) in which the fox replaces Baby Huey's boomerang with a barber's razor then heaves it at him only to have it repel off Huey's throat (as if it were made of elastic) sending it right back at the fox chopping his body into columns all of which fall back together again Picasso-style. Just too violent for my tastes. Also consider the scene in "Mouseum" (1956) in which Katnip heaves a series of knives at Herman only to have the knives stick into a platform of some kind. Herman sends the platform rolling toward Katnip, the knives on which shear his body into layers, all of which fall to the floor.
