So many things have been kiddified in the past couple of years...it just aint funny. once n' awhile it turns out o.k, but the rest of the time...everything goes to hell.

The Good: Smallville. Supes as a teen. This turned out so much better than expected.
Jackie Chan adventures. chan is probably my favorite actor. But, with a series comes a great dark cloud over the peoples heads...it HAS TO have a KID in it. Why? I dunno. Luckly, Jade turned out to be a fun character that people can actually ENJOY. She's just not that bothersome.
Batman Beyond. Thank you Paul Dini!! THANK YOU! He, along with Bruce Timm, saved what could have been a freefall into disaster.

The Bad: The Mummy. I think we could all agree that The Mummy was better when Imhoteps motivation was simply his love for a woman. And in The Mummy Returns, Alex wasnt so bad. but....in the cartoon, everything was kiddified. Alex is an annoying little dork, & imhotep is the same villian we've seen on tv for the past 30 years.
And this goes for just about all of the Kids WB schedual.
I liked things better when He-Man was a MAN. When the Ghostbusters were all GROWN-UP! When the Flintstones were MARRIED!

Kiddification.......dumbing our youth one nation at a time.

that's a pretty cool observation! there isn't too many quality cartoons anymore, then they took batman tas and batman beyond out....there isn't even good shows on these days, it's all taken over by reality series. i was disappointed when cbs' night of the heroes on saturday disappeared. early edition, walker, and martial law made my saturday night (yeah, i know i'm a loser :p ) and then fox had young hercules, which was cool. :) man, back in high school i watched a lot of tv and now.......well maybe things are just different in college. now i'm on a tangent that prolly doesn't even have to do with the thread. anyway, maybe networks are doing this kiddification thing because they think kids have short attention spans? or maybe it started with the pokemon fad and they're just following what's popular?

This isn't really anything new. As long as there's been TV, there's been kiddiefication. The best we can hope for is that kids will grow up and realize how bad some of this stuff was that they once thought was good.

Well, we have Samurai Jack and will soon have new eps. of Dexter and JL is just a week away, so I think that we have lots of good stuff to look forward too. Plus if you are into classic stuff, there are new eps. of Toonheads and the Popeye show is beginning in 10 minutes. Things were kind of bad for a while but I think that this new stuff is impressive.
