I realize that I am becoming known for posting negative threads, but believe me I love these shows as much as you guys! My question is, are there any changes that have been made in the upcoming JL show that bother you?
I, as silly as it sounds, dislike the idea of Diana (Wonder Woman)'s mother's hair being blonde! I think it was blonde before the George Perez revamp, but that really defies logic in my opinion. I understand they probably did it in order to differenciate Diana and her mother, but I liked how in the Wonder Woman 80's comics, they looked like they were related.
I am alos saddened to hear that Tim Daley isn't superman anymore. I listened to a clip of his voice at someone's really cool JL pilot page (see news) and I agree that he does sound younger than he should. I don't know if I really want them to change voice actors later on, but I still miss the original Superman's voice!
I also wonder why they chose to not include Aquaman as a full-time member. I hope his two-part episodes explain this as well as his new look. Was it that his character just didn't blend with the other JL members? Could the full-time JL comic readers fill us in on the nature of his character in the mainstream comics?
Also, though this has nothing to do with the topic, does JL feature the same voice actors who performed as Flash and Aquaman in S: TAS? I worry about Micheal Rosenbaum staying on as Flash in a year or two. Between Smallville and JL, will he still have time to breathe?
That's all folks! Discuss amongst yourselves!

Well first of all, you have to remember that Diana is made from clay. So wether Hipploytas hair is black or blonde makes no real difference. Though I agree her being a brunette is astetically better. (what can I say, I've been partial to dark haired women since I saw Lynda Carter when I was 5. Something my girlfreind appreciates.)
As for Aquaman not being a fulltime member I'm okay with that simply because its extremely difficult to come up with stuff for him to do that relate to his powers at all. One of the reasons why I always thought they should give him the ablility to actually create water. Besides, the team does need another female presence besides Wonder Woman.
Just based on what I've seen there isnt any change that bothers me outside of just being disapointed that Tim Daly isnt onboard.
Though I did hear something about the team departing from the more fantastical cityscapes and opting for more true to our reality buildings which I think is unecessary. I liked the old cityscapes. It showed that in their universe architects actually have some style!

I don't like the fact that Daly didn't return to the series. I would've like to have seen him reprise the role. To me, he will always be the voice of Superman. He is the voice I hear when I read the books and will continue to hear. The new voice isn't entirely bad. There are times when he sounds remarkably like Daly, but that's a rarity. I'm sure I'll get used to his voice over time.
I also wonder why they chose to not include Aquaman as a full-time member. I hope his two-part episodes explain this as well as his new look. The reason is....becuase they simply didn't want him on there. They though having Aquaman on the time would be kinda pointless becuase they already have five other powerful superhero males. I'm glad they didn't include him becuase he'd be useless. I always thought Aquaman didn't fit in and should've been replaced with Green Arrow. So, they dropped him and put in Hawkgirl, which I thought was a good move. I prefer her over Aquman anyday.
Also, though this has nothing to do with the topic, does JL feature the same voice actors who performed as Flash and Aquaman in S: TAS? I worry about Micheal Rosenbaum staying on as Flash in a year or two. Between Smallville and JL, will he still have time to breathe?
The voices for Aquaman and Flash are done by different people. I'm confident Rosenbaum will stay on. He's a fan of the animated shows and he's voiced some characters in Batman Beyond. I don't think he'll ever become too busy to be able to voice Flash on the show. BY now, they've probably recorded the entire first season. I know by April they had haf of the episodes already voice recorded.
I'm all pumped for JL and I like the changes.

All the changes that bother me I've gotten over:
Superman's voice: Didn't bother me for long, I'm not too picky about voice work, to be honest. As long as I can tell it's Superman.
J'onn: I didn't really like the head shape at first, but after seeing the animation, I think it works well with the character. Also, the lack of heat vision sorta ticked me off, despite the sense behind it. It was always such a classic thing. but I got over that.
Green Lantern: I really do like John Stewart, but I was hoping for Kyle. But the diversity does make sense. And just look at that JLA pic Bruce Timm did awhile back (with Hal Jordan and such): White male, white male, white male, white FEMALE, white male, white male, etc. It's cool to see diversity in the League.
Lex Luthor: I couldn't get over that stupid suit of his. Then I found out the reason why.
Yeah, I think that's about it.

What changes bother me lets see:
Tim Daly not being the voice of Superman
Hippolyta with blonde hair
Kyle Rayner not being GL (but I can live w/ it if they provide a explanation during a episode ,thats all I want)
no teleporters
The Watchtower not being on the moon ( I like'd that)
Lex Luthor not being the business tycoon billionaire bad guy
Wonder Womans shirt. Its supposed to be a metal breastplate in the front but it doesnt look like it and I like her with the larger braclets that some artist draw her with on the comics

Don't worry, the Aquaman two-parter will, in the words of the creators, "explain why he's not on the team." Also they knew many fans would gripe, so they made the episode as early into the first season as they could.
Aside from Superman's voice (which I understand since Daly was busy at the time) I can't really find any changes that bother me...
Anyone else far too amused by Aquaman's booty shaking on Adult Swim?

LOL! That was HILARIOUS! I was just sitting there thinking "okay, the cows are there for some reason," then Aquaman pops in. One of CN's finest commercials.

Aquaman is funny, but the Shell commercials during Adult Swim are so corny...right out of the 80's.
Only gripe I have with Justice League is that Timm says it is a balance between the somber mood of BB and brightness of STAS.
I don't like both moods...so what do I like?
A mostly dark mood like Spider-manTAS or BatmanTAS, but not as dark as BB.

Well they had to do the contrast for character. On one hand, you have Batman, J'onn (sorry, I just can't call him "Martian Manhunter"), GL, and Hawkgirl who are all darker, more serious characters. Then there's Superman, Flash, and Wonder Woman who are all for one reason or another brighter character, and a better representation of hope to the world. I could go into more detail here, but I won't :D
Basically, you have to balance. You can't do a dark show because that doesn't fit Superman, Wonder Woman, and ESPECIALLY the Flash. Oh the other hand, a show as bright as STAS wouldn't work for a character like Batman. STAS eps like "Legacy" and "Apokolips...Now!" are probably the best examples of a contrast.
Also, the Justice League is a very public super-team. They are the World's Greatest Superheroes, and are everyone's idol (bad-guys not included). To do JL any darker would really take away from that. Even Morrison's era, which Bruce Timm has said is darker than JL's approach, had its bright, shining moments that reminded you that this is the greatest collection of heroes.
So I wouldn't want my JL as dark as say, Batman Beyond. Except for the episode spotlighting Batman :)
Not that this belongs on this thread or anything.... ;)
