I heard something a few years ago about how some people have a gene that makes vegetables taste bad. Unfortunately, I never cared enough to research it.
Anyway... I can't stand spinach, asparagus, or lima beans. I actually have trouble swallowing that stuff and feel like I'm gonna puke. I also hate peas, though I can stand to eat them.
For some strange reason, I love broccoli. It's one of the healthiest and somehow it doesn't make me want to puke like the others... weird. I also like carrots, and green beans and brussel sprouts are ok. and I eat salads often, though lettuce isn't much more than water. so I guess I'd have to say yes, I like vegetables.
what about y'all?

I can't abide them. Most of the time vegetables make me wretch. I once vomited on account of one small piece of raw carrot (not even those awful stewed ones). Given that my father and brother are vigorous consumers of all array of vegetables, which I find revolting, I really wish I could fit in. I can eat lettuce, but that lousy Iceberg stuff and typically only with a dressing (I prefer a strong vinagrette), otherwise I just taste dirt.
I'm hardly a raging, red-meat devouring carnivore, really I prefer broiled fish, but I just can't abide the sensation of most vegetables.
Fruit does better, at least, especially apples and bananas.
I don't like legumes, though. Nasty, stupid, evil legumes.

I like vegetables. Spinach, Broccoli, Cabbage, Celery, Carrots. although most of it doesn't taste too good, I first started off, by just making myself eat it, xD. But I've grown to love it a lot now. =)

The only two veggies I like are lettuce/salad and Lima beans. I must say though that I do love cookies.

Well just about every other vegietable that I had tastes pretty good, even spinach and coliflower to name a few but it is best to main the 4 to 6 servings of this stuff in order to make some good out of it.
I wasn't too keen on them as a kid and worse still my mom, disbelieving my theory that cake was richer that cabbage and sprouts in vitamin C, used to make me eat them.
Once I got older though I found my tastes changed and now I love all vegetables, salad, pulses etc, in fact I'd much rather eat veggies than meat any time.

The mentioning, in the opening post, of a gene that makes vegetables taste bad intrigues me since I might be an explanation for my severe aversion to them. However, I think that may actually be referring to a development in some children that causes them to reject vegetables because some contain toxins that an underdeveloped immune/digestive system can't handle and caused serious disease or death in the past.
I've also read that the things that give vegetables their sometimes-unpleasant taste and are for them natural pesticides and protective deterents are the very polynutrients and et cetera that give vegetables their health benefits,
Something worth researching.

It's odd, but with vegetables it's not just a matter of unpleasant taste, the texture and physical sensation tends to revolt me as well. Which is why even seasoned vegetables are an uninviting proposition for me.

I'll eat all of the vegetables... never had a problem with 'em. But I have to admit, they do taste better when they're served with something else... such as, meat.
Meat is good.
...because I'm a RAGING, RED-MEAT DEVOURING CARNIVORE!!!
Just beef and poultry for me, though. I stay away from pork, but I'll eat pepperoni if I have to.
Vegetarian lion? I don't think so.

I'm almost a vegetarian even moreso now that my brother is though he's gone extreme. I don't really like salads and I don't like tomatos but I do like tomato sauce. I like most other vegetables.
Are black olives vegetables:confused:

I've loved them my whole life and I try to eat some on a daily basis. Peas and corn are great as additions to meals and raw green beans are a good snack (yellow beans are better cooked). There's also lettuce, snap & snow peas, baby carrots, tomatoes (yeah yeah...), broccoli, cauliflower, celery, etc...
The only two I can think of that I'm not crazy about are cooked carrots (meh) and turnip (double meh).

i like veggies as long as they aren't of the "squishy" variety, i.e. the vegetables that when you bite down on them, they squirt stuff. hence, i don't like peas, cooked carrots, or tomatoes (even though it is a fruit :p)

I do enjoy eating vegetables, even though I prefer meat and poultry alot more in most cases. Even so, I think some veggies rock.

Oh I love veggies save for a few like peas, califlower, and a few I can't think of right now. I especially like broccli when it is with beef or chicken at the chinese restaurants.
I also enjoy celery with some peanut butter now and then.

I'm rather fond of "crispy" veggies. Carrots, cucumbers, corn and bell peppers are up there. I will help myself to the occasional sweet potato, though.

RAGING, RED-MEAT DEVOURING CARNIVORE!!!
I eat a lot of vegetables, fish, rice, and soup. It's the whole Asian tradition thing, but I like it now. When I was a kid, I would hate eating all of those.

I love my vegetables. It’s like all that is in my fridge! I have carrots, celery, and cucumbers. Those are like my main snacks. I am like either eating a salad or a turkey sandwich. My life is so predictable. :p

eh spinach but not much else :(
I like veggies and I eat them often at home (specially now that I'm on a diet :S). My favorites are brocolli, couliflower, carrot, corn and artichoke. The only ones I dislike are cucumber and some kinds of lettuce (the ones that taste like grass). Potato isn't my favorite either, but I eat it anyway.

That's odd. While there are many vegetables that don't taste good, I don't really think any vegetables are puke worthy. I mean, it's just a plant. I mean, I can see someone puking from eating meat or dairy or eggs because it does actually come from an animal so there could be any number of gross things on it. But, I mean, vegetables are just plants. I mean, what could possibly be gross about a plant? I mean, sure if it's moldy or rotten, but I can't imagine someone puking over a bean. I mean, it's just a freakin bean! No one likes eating lima beans or spinach plain, but sometimes you need to man up and eat your veggies if you want to be healthy. Seriously, I really can't stand picky eaters. If I'm hungry, I'll eat just about anything. I mean, think of the starving people in Somalia. Would they turn down a spinach leaf? You know, maybe you should work on a reward system. For every serving of veggies you eat, you can eat one serving of something you like.

Raw vegetables make the best snacks. I eat tomatoes like candy. Full-size, cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes... all fantastic!
And nothing beats veggies straight from the garden. Cucumbers, carrots, string beans. Love 'em all! :D

Love 'em! Spinach and asparagus (especially with butter and a little apple cider vinegar on 'em), broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots (cooked or raw, dipped in Marie's Blue Cheese dressing), and good ol' potatoes (mashed or French fried).
Just recently discovered mashed sweet potatoes (thank you, Stouffer's!) and something I call "Tree Salad." Actually, it's called "Spring Mix," made of radicchio, baby lettuces, and "greens." I call it "Tree Salad" because I swear, those leaves and greens look like they were shaken down out of a tree.

Carrots are usually sweet, as are sweet potatoes and yams. Peas are sometimes sweet.

I love pretty much all veggies, as long as they're not cooked in butter. (I HATE butter). The only kind I'm not too gond of is cooked zucchini, I think it's too slimey. My palms and the bottoms of my feet are actually orange from eating so many carrots.

I like my veggies. I'll eat most of them. However, some I just find disgusting.
Examples:
-Creamed corn: Am I the only one who thinks it looks like vomit?
-Baked Beans: blech... squishy and gross.
-Zucchini: My dad grows this EVERY YEAR. For those of you who don't garden, one Zucchini plant produces somewhere in the neighborhood of three thousand Zucchinis.
Broccholi, carrots, onions, tomatoes, green and red peppers soybeans,( sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, not real veggies)....and from a tree, olive oil...Heard to believe. these will really keep you healthy. Of course, no one will believe it, but they will..just plain food..:)

The only vegetables I particularly dislike are ones that have strong, unpleasant odors when cooked. Brussel sprouts and turnips are good examples. Blegh.
I don't much understand dislikes of certain other vegetables, however. Varieties of peas, corn, carrots, peppers, and many other veggies have a wonderful natural sweetness.
I have to wonder if certain dislikes result from parents choices from available produce, as I have sometimes been served unpleasant forms of vegetables I would normally enjoy. Cooking methods certainly have an additional effect, as well.

If one doesn't like cooked zucchini itself...
One could always try plucking the flowers early to make fried zucchini blossoms. Stuffed with cheese, no less. Nummy.
Zucchini bread / cake isn't a bad way to use extra zucchini, either. Zucchini cake never lasts long when I'm around...

Not really. I only like a few of them, like potatoes, corn, spinach (fresh, not the blob out of a can), cucumbers, garlic and Romaine Lettuce. But most I can't stand. I'm more of a meat person than a fruit/vegetable person.
I still don't see why so many people call me a vegetable or couch potato.:p
