I hope someone here knows this. What's the significance of the Woody Woodpecker tattoos that both H.I. McDonnough and Leonard Smalls have in Raising Arizona? I saw it again the other night and finally made the connection that they have identical tats, but why Woody? And does this mean they're the same person, or just equally tough, or dumb, or what?

Y'know, I never noticed that!
One question, though - was it Woody, or the Thrush bird?
Just in case you may not be familiar with it, the Thrush bird looks like an angry Woody smoking a cigar.
You just gave me an idea for an interesting thread!

It's the advertising logo for Thrush Auto Parts. People used to have the stickers up in the back windows of their "low riders" for years!

Oh, yeah. I remember that. I think it is the Thrush bird. So what significance does it have on these two?

Maybe he's implying that they're gearheads - THAT I really don't know.
