I noticed something a while back, so I thought I'd bring it up here.
We all know Freleng and Jones got along quite well. Friz made one of his great cartoons through 1943 called Little Red Riding Rabbit. Jones introduced his 3 Bears characters in Bugs Bunny and the Three Bears.

I noticed that these have plenty of stuff in common.

- both are Bugs Bunny cartoons

- both are fairy tale parodies

- (my original observation) both make extensive use of the great WB sound effects

- they were released close together
LRRR- Jan. 4, 1944
BB&tTB- Feb. 26, 1944

My theory about all this is that the 2 directors may have had some kind of bet to see which could make best, most extensive use of Treg Brown's sound effects. The other similarities could've been ground rules. True or not, I love the idea.

I think Friz may've won such a bet, and his is famous for the sfx.
I do love both cartoons.

So, what do you think, sirs?

The way I understand it is that Treg added the sound effects himself. It could've been that he and Friz got along better.
