Has anyone ever thought up of an idea for making a video game? I have an idea that was mainly inspired by Soul Calibur 2 and Dead Or Alive 3. It is a fighting game called "Bark & Howl". The charactes include 11 different walking and talking dogs (Brian from Family Guy also played a role for this inspiration but he is NOT a character in the game).
Here are the characters:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Andrew
Gender:Male
Breed:Dachshund
Eyes:Brown
Personality:Eccentric
Stage:Disco Club
Info:Andrew is a very odd and goofy Dachshund. He is packed full of quirky
quotes and an even weirder fighting style. He always brings a smile with his
stange jokes. Andrew entered the Bark & Howl tournament to become a comedian
who is famous for odd humor. He will be a successful comedian. That is,if he
wins the prize money. He also wears the strangest battle outfits!
Fighting Style:Considering that Andrew is a Dachshund (Long body and short legs) he
has the most strange fighting style among all the characters. He has a move where he can
constrict the opponent like a snake! He can perform more odd moves like curling up into a ball
and bouncing on the opponent like a dribbling basketball! He's the hardest character to master
because of his eccentric style.
Costume #1:Liberace Glitter Suit
Costume #2:Toga
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bessy
Gender:Female
Breed:Poodle
Eyes:Blue
Personality:Whiny
Stage:Art Museum
Info:Bessy is a poodle who is always complaining about something. She is very rich
yet never satisfied. She does fashion stuff in her spare time. The reason she entered
the Bark & Howl tournament was to become the richest dog on earth and have her own castle.
Fighting Style:Bessy relies on defensive moves. Her attacks are normally quite weak and her
speed is average but Bessy is very quick at blocking attacks! Not reccomended for an
aggressive fighter.
Costume #1:Bathrobe
Costume #2:Red Dress
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Derek
Gender:Male
Breed:Pomeranian
Eyes:Green
Personality:Arrogant
Stage:Japan
Info:Derek is a laid back and very self-absorbed Pomeranian. Before a fight,he calmly
says a sarcastic quote or tell his opponent that he is better looking than them. He
spends a LOT of time looking at himself in the mirror and thinking that he is the best
looking dog in the world. He entered the tournament so he could win money to buy
some of the best gooming products on earth.
Fighting Style:He is very decent at mixing up some intimidating combos and is really good at
using throws.
Costume #1:Karate Robe
Costume #2:Royal Blue Karate Robe
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gabriel
Gender:Female
Breed:Chihuahua
Eyes:Green
Personality:Energetic
Stage:Egyptian Desert with Pyramids
Info:Gabriel is a hyper and energetic Chihuahua. She is very brave and loves to take on
a good challenge. She wants to win the prize money to go to the Grand Canyon.
Fighting Style:Gabriel is a VERY quick character who relies on speed. She likes to use
low to the ground attacks. She's one of the fastest characters in the game!
Costume #1:Skydiver
Costume #2:Baseball Player
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Isaac
Gender:Male
Breed:Greyhound
Eyes:Purple
Personality:Intelligent
Stage:Space Ship
Info:Isaac is a HIGHLY intelligent greyhound scientist. He can get quite panicky
at times, though. He entered the Bark & Howl tournament to win the money so he can build a
machine that could end world hunger.
Fighting Style:Isaac, being a greyhound is best at using his speed when against an opponent.
His attacks do decent damage and when he gets within an enemy's range,he can perform
some of the most dazzing and quick combos in the game. But his defense and range are not the best, though.
Costume #1:Labcoat
Costume #2:Purple Shirt with Tornado and Gold Watch
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jeff
Gender:Male
Breed:Golden Labrador
Eyes:Blue
Personality:Cheerful
Stage:Forest
Info:Jeff is a cheerful and athletic Labrador. He is always full of joy and
cheerfulness. He's also very outgoing. Jeff entered the Bark & Howl tournament just because
he thinks its fun and will use the money to support his family.
Fighting Style:One of the most balanced characters in the game. He has average speed, attack,
defense, throws and combos. Very easy to use for most beggining players.
Costume #1:Blue Shirt with Smiley Face and Red Baseball Cap on backwards
Costume #2:Red Shirt with Lighting Bolt and Silver Watch
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Olga
Gender:Female
Breed:Doberman
Eyes:Brown
Personality:Strict
Stage:Night Highway
Info:Olga is a strict Doberman. One of the most serious characters in the game.
She also has very chilling one-liners but not a evil as Xavier. She entered the Bark & Howl
tournament so she could win enough money to become a leiutennant in the army.
Fighting Style:Olga has below average speed but it's not horrible. She nomally relies
on brute strength like Roger and loves a good throw here and there.
Costume #1:Army Uniform
Costume #2:Buisness Suit
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Roger
Gender:Male
Breed:Bulldog
Eyes:Brown
Personality:Tough
Stage:Boxing Arena
Info:Roger is all brawn and no brain. A big and rough Bulldog who relies on brute force.
He entered the tournament to win enough money so he can buy some gym equiptment.
Fighting Style:Roger has the WORST SPEED of ANY character in the game. He relies
on pure brute strength and is quite slow to attack.
Costume #1:Wrestler
Costume #2:Wife Beater
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stacy
Gender:Female
Breed:Border Collie
Eyes:Blue
Personality:Seductive
Stage:Boat
Info:Stacy is a very seductive collie. She has a big crush of Jeff the Labrador and he has
a crush on her as well. Stacy entered the Bark & Howl tournament to win prize money so she can
become a singer.
Fighting Style:Her style is similar to Jeff's except the movelist is a bit different. She
tends to have a bit of a longer range than Jeff.
Costume #1:Bathing Suit
Costume #2:Black Leather Jacket
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tommy
Gender:Male
Breed:Beagle
Eyes:Brown
Personality:Shy
Stage:Cave
Info:Tommy is a shy, sensitive and sweet Beagle. He enjoys hiding in his dark cave because he's
VERY timid around others. He entered the Bark & Howl tournament so he could get the money and
spend it on a new TV,his roommate,Batty the bat accidentally broke the last one.
Fighting Style:Tommy may be a kind and sensitive Beagle but he is known for good speed,
strength and throws. His weakness relies in his limited movelist.
Costume #1:Plad Shirt
Costume #2:Angel
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Xavier
Gender:Male
Breed:Husky
Eyes:Blue
Personality:Evil
Stage:The Arctic
Info:Xavier wants nothing more than world domination. He is very cold and cruel,no matter
cool looking he may be. He entered the Bark & Howl tournament because he wants to win
the money to buy a war machine.
Fighting Style:Xavier enjoys using poweful throws and fast attacks to beat his opponents.
He also has decent defense and speed. It does take him some time to pull off a combo, though.
Costume #1:Armor
Costume #2:Goth Shirt
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The modes include Arcade,Survival,VS Battle (2 player battle),Team Battle and Practice mode. I should really of thought up of more things about
their fighting styles, though. Maybe I should update my ideas. What do you think of my idea? And have you ever thought of making up a video game of you own?

i'd buy it. if it was real.

and please don't let those negatives get you down. just try to make it if you can, and don't be afraid to ask for help. and maybe when it makes it big.. you'll be the one who rules. not those who didn't realize the potential you had.

What the heck is wrong with it? It's original, isn't it? It's my idea and you make it sound so damn negative. At least somebody has to agree. SOMEBODY! My god,I must control my stress.Sounds like a great game for dog fans, heres my idea,Old car county:A game were you go to a real place called country classics and find an old junk car to buy and fix up,you first start out with a stock early Honda civic you can buy parts for than you can buy better cars and customize them and sooner or later you get to challenge me and my 66'bug Zu-zu,(if you wan't to know what he looks like go to the favorite car thread),He may look stock but he has a Mclaren F1 motor in the back so when you race me I'll pop one heck of a wheelie, there will also be off-road rallies including desert rallies and mountain rallies and more rallies, you can't unlock Zu-zu or buy him but you will win a lot of money and an all chromed Suzuki Escudo (fastest car in the game),the races are illegal however so cops would be after you on the road, there would also be traffic,The traffic and your car will take damage (rallies and races) and get dirty (on rallies),fixing would be free but during the race it will effect performance. You can also create a driver or select an already made character (one will be Gex),There will also be an arcade mode were you just select an already modified car and than race, the on road races will be like Burnout 3 only once you crash or someone crashes, they're done for the race.Dang, this is a long post.Who knows,Someone may ask me if they can make a game of my cartoon and I'll say "only if you go by the idea I tell you".Whats everyones thoughts?

It's my idea and you make it sound so damn negative. The internet can be so cruel.

Anyway, I have a similar idea, only it stars silverware. It's called "Silverware Force", and it's a 3D fighting game starring appliances you can find in your own kitchen!
-Pick up your opponents and poke them as... THE FORK!
-Scoop your enemies into oblivion with... THE SPOON!
-Cut your obstacles like buttah with... THE KNIFE!
-Turn your adversary into goop with... THE BLENDER!
-Whip your baddie, whip him good, with... THE EGG BEATER!
-They're bros, they use the same attacks a la Ryu and Ken, they're wearing the same underwear, it's.... SALT AND PEPPER!
-Squirt your way to the top with.... THE TURKEY BASTER!
-Pull a Shredder with... THE CHEESE GRATER!
-Chill your nemesis to the bone and serve chilled drinks with... THE ICE CUBE TRAY!

And.... if you make it past these culinary foes, the final boss awaits you: THE MICROWAVE! If you can survive three grueling minutes without melting/exploding, you win!

Start saving your quarters... :D

I would make a good multiplayer platformer. I've always wondered why there are so few good multiplayer games. I really liked Toe Jam and Earl for Genesis how when both characters were together they were on the same screen and when you moved away from each other the screen would split. But, that wasn't a platformer. The second one was, however, but if I remember correctly you couldn't make it go split screen. What a dissappointment. I guess it must have had something to do with limitations on the memory or something.

But, hopefully, in the age of PS2 they can make a multiplayer platformer. I'd want it to be 4 players. Like, there would just be one screen when all four players are together. If one character moves away from the group, the screen would split into two screens. If another player moved away it would split into 3 screens. And if the remaining two characters moved in opposite directions you'd have a four way split screen. I think it would be an awesome game to play with multiple people. You could split up and explore multiple areas at once, or you could team up to beat a boss. It would involve some strategy because you'd have to decide which players should team up with whom. And then you could get into situations where one player disagrees with the group and wants to go off on his own even when everyone else wants to stick together. I really wish someone would make a game like this.

I've been doing this since I was like 6 years old! I've had ideas for games like Earthbound Racing, Beanie Baby Mazes (one of my earlier ideas), The Grim Reaper, and Waluigi World, but prehaps my best work was called Black River...

It's an RPG. Princess Harlem is being guided by Rickard, her royal messanger, through the woods. It has been days since they have seen any other humans, and all they want to do is get home. Suddenly, a giant bird swoops down and guess who it grabs and takes off with! Harlem? WRONG! For once, the guy is the one in distress. The bird takes off with Rickard and disappears into the clouds. Not knowing what to do, Harlem panics in circles and cries for help, until she trips over a root and falls head first into a raging river...

The next thing she knows, she is in a small paddle boat with a big-boned man who appeared to be in his late 60's. He introduces himself as Bert Gagne, an adventurer who has traveled on the Black River for decades. Harlem first says her name is Kate, but then after the two of them work together to defeat a giant lobster monster, she believes she can trust Bert and introduces herself as Harlem, omitting the fact that she's a princess. She tells Bert that her "friend" was carried off by a bird. Bert seems to know the bird, and calls it "The Mighty One". Just after, the boat tumbles down a huge waterfall leaving Harlem and Bert stranded on land, and the adventure begins...

Party Members: Harlem, Bert, Rickard (after being rescued), Jiyel (an abused girl from a poor village), and Allin (a strange boy who clames to have holy ancestry).

As the story grows deeper, Harlem learns that Rickard is actually more to her than a messanger...
He's her brother

I've been making games in my head and on paper for a long time... they all sucked :p.
My first was a game called Challenger and it was a 2D flat screen ripoff (drawn on paper) of Donkey Kong, cause enemies were lizard things. Cept instead of a gorilla, I drew little stick figures and they were doing the levels. And there was no plot.
I cannot remember when I did this but it was a long time ago cause one of the levels was called Space Station and I spelled it Spce Stathin.
I was gonna redraw the whole thing as Challenger's Revenge with my new semi-adult mind, but you know... I got bored and gave up.
Lately I just make up in my brain visions of a perfect Zelda game... *drool*

I'd always wanted to see an RPG about an office worker going on a journey to another state to take down the evil corporation funding his workplace. Along the way you'd meet up with such party members as Mary, the jaded caffeine-addicted secretary; Bob, the middle aged divorced guy who's lost all sense of ambition; Joe, the young naive buck who doesn't know the bleak future of office work; and Annie, the attractive turncoat love interest from a rival corporation! :p

Along the way you'd fight such fearsome enemies as greasy lawyers who sport 1000s of HPs, and disgruntled middle managers preventing you from leaving work!

It would never sell, though. Or...would it...??

I had this idea for an adventure game based around the idea of Halloween (don't have a name for it, though). It's about two twelve year old kids named Jack and Eve who have to save their town on Halloween night (which would actually have been their last night of trick or treating before they became too "grown-up" for it) after it's been turned into this creepy place and all the people have been turned into monsters by a warlock.

In normal form, the kids are armed with cans of silly string that, for some reason, can turn the monsters back into regular people. They can also pick up magic costumes that turn them into good monsters with different powers.

Vampire costume- flight
Werewolf costume- speed and claws
Frankenstein's Monster costume- strength and lightning blasts
Swamp Monster costume- breathing underwater and slime spit
Ghost costume- Phasing through walls

Each suit has its weaknesses and you can't use them forever. You have to collect candy to fill up on costume power.

It's supposed to be just a fun, E rated Halloween romp for everyone that plays with ideas like "what if the Middle School lunch lady got turned into a witch?" or "What if the mayor was a vampire?" There's no blood or guts, and monsters turn back to normal after being defeated.

This idea was thought up a while ago, though. Since then, many of these ideas have been used in various games across different systems.

Well, I've sent this idea to Vince Desi, CEO of Running With Scissors. I thought it's "his" style. Indeedy, it is. Now I have to design it, and maybe they'll buy it.

"Hi. I'm thinking about another violence-packed, scandalous, 3D action game that's gonna stir up those morons in world governments and TV stations. The game has horror, humor, pretty consistent plot, the occult, shooting catholic priests (which is OH SO obligatory!), puritan, conservatist politicians, devils and hero that is far from faith, but he becomes the Divine Wrath itself. The deal is simple: our hero (let's call him Mike) has to defeat Seven Cardinal Sins and their seven most powerful henchmen:
Wrath (dark Mike) & Hate (mutated politician)
Lust (typical succubus) & Disloyalty (another typical succubus - at a disco)
Pride (priest-boss of the radio mutated into some sort of badass steroid ape) & Lie (editor-in-chief of pseudo-catholic rag named "Our Journal", mutated into a octopuslike creature hanging under the printing works ceiling)
Greed (holier-than-thou tycoon that would jump after a dime if you dropped it to Niagara a while earlier) & Corruption (acid-puking scarecrow raving in the courthouse building - wink to that idiot judge from Alabama here)
Gluttony (jumping, crushing fatass) & ??? (didn't think this one out yet)
Sloth & ??? (same here)
Envy & ??? (and here)
Mike swings a fancy golden sword, shoots a variety of guns, uses some celestial powers, massacres grandmas, priests, politicians, hellspawn, topless leather-clad Disloyalty (which multiplies into three copies of herself - but only the original can be hurt, hit copies disappear and reappear in random locations) and other real bad-ass foes in places like catholic radio station, printing works, courthouse, disco, house of mirrors and demonstration against European Union...
Concept of the game gives the possibility of conversion to home game systems like XBox or PS2 (arcade shoot'em all out like ie. Syphon Filter or really messy Tomb Raider clone)"

In the beginning, it was planned to be dark. Now, it'll be risque humor featuring the terrible Radio Controlled Zombie Grandmas (TM) and more.
Think I've gotta draw a RC Zombie Grandma lineup.
