View Full Version : Superboy - The live-action series (1989-1992)
Anybody else loved that show? I think the first 2 seasons were not so good but the 3rd and 4th season was awesome, it had great stories and special effects. I think it was a lot better than Lois & Clark. Does anyway know why not any TV station in the whole wide world is not allowed to air the show anymore?

I have been looking all over for these for a trade.. I thought I found one person who had all the eps and we were going to do a trade , but then at the last minute he got greedy and said that the entire set was going to run almost 250.00+ or 75 dollars a season...
I said no way because I wasn't looking to break the law and that was that. If you haven't already.. go to the same site the Batman dvd petiton is posted on and find the petiton to release these on dvd or at least for WB to end the lien they placed on this fine series.. so they can be re aired in sydication packages
On another note..There was heavy advertising for Justice League during the Superfriend's marathon on Boomerang..only thing is that they kept showing the same commercial over and over...

If you go to this website..you will find a long and detailed explanation to why the lien was placed on this series by WB..basically it all came down to jealousy and competiton.

I finally found someone that has a reasonable set of Superboy. I am almost down completing my end of the trade. I will let you know when I get them in.

If you go to Gerard Christopher's web site. You can get some of the better episodes on video. They are not cheap, but will be of great quality. He was a producer on the show in the later years. Another piece of trivia. Is that he was chosen to play Clark/Superman on the "Lois & Clark:New Adv.of Superman" tv show. But, a few days after getting the role. They found out he played Superboy and let him go. Apparently they wanted someone new for the project. And Dean Cain got the job.
I have most of the episodes on tape. I am missing most of the early episodes. I really hope they can work out this legal issue and either air the show on tv or release it on dvd.
Here is his website: www.gerardchristopher.com
ps-I emailed him telling that people(incl.Supes fans who never have heard about the show) want it on vhs or dvd(preferred). I hope you email him and ask for the show. Here is his email address: gcsuperboy@hotmail.com

I loved this series...all the seasons...I liked the first two as well. But Gerard Christopher was better than John Haymes Newton.

I believe that it is only carried on Satellite as I have had to tape a crap load of stuff for people in the past that were interested in certain shows such as Superfriends and Centurions.
