Midway officially confirms that Mortal Kombat Deception will arrive on our lil' indigo system.
In an exclusive interview IGN held with Midway, the 3rd party has laid rumors and previous denials to rest, by stating that the 6th installment in the Mortal Kombat franchise will ship for the Cube in early 2005.
It was mentioned that the GameCube version was simply put on hold until Midway's internal MK team could complete the monumental task of bringing the fighting series online for the two other consoles. Now since that task is nearing completion, they team can work on a very true and exact port for Nintendo's console.
To great surprise, Midway also revealed the GameCube build will arrive with exclusive features instead of the online component, although it was not made clear what exactly these features would intail.
MKD features over 24 fighters, multi-tiered arenas, death traps, multiple fatalities and the traditional arcade mode. But the new modes added for this game will truly offer some variety, such as; puzzle kombat, chess kombat, and the RPG-like Konquest mode.
Great news for gamers who were left out in the cold, and denied a solid franchise that managed to sell upwards of 200,000 copies back in 2002
