Welcome back to "The World"!

As quickly as our heroes enemies grew, they fell even faster. Last time around, Shugo and Mireille attempted to go incognito to gather info and avoid the Cerulean Knights but the two didn't do that well. Back into hiding they went. The traitorous Reki showed up and gave everybody info on an offline server and Shugo used his new "Gate Hacking" power to get there. Awaiting them was the hackers and soon enough the knights showed up. A three way rumble erupted and many knights were Data Drained. Things began to fall apart when a "Wandering A.I." appeared and tore up the place. And in a sad twist, Shugo and company were forced to flee just as Rena was about to re-join them....


Tonights episode is # 10/12 ! - "Phantom City"

Tomato tamato. Bandai says the title is "Phantom City" but CN says it's "Capital of Illusion." But Bandai would know best right?
Returning characters include: The sleeping girl Aura (most episodes of SIGN), Balmung of the Azure Sky (SIGN episode 21 "Phantom" & the games), and Sanjuro (from the games)
As always if the episode hasn't aired before on CN mark all spoilers with the spoil tag. That includes information from the games and ova's to I believe.
Yes the show is originally in widescreen, same as .hack//SIGN. Using a TV with the 16:9 option will unsquish the show and make it look more natural.
This episode is extra new because the last dvd won't be out until the run is finished!

yeah I only read a little of the first manga when I got it last year because I knew ahead of time it would take over a year for the final one to be released but it is good good and canon!

anyway I had to edit the first post like a hundred times! perfection is demanding :sweat: speaking of which I'll let you in on a little something! remember how .hack//SIGN got a second run topic? well I've been working hard on one for this and it will be quite the innovator :) but thats all the info I'm giving on it for now ;)


alright! Reki sure is weird I don't know what to make of him right now :confused: plus some more of Rena getting used to her new ummm roommates... anyway classic stuff here! preparations before the final battles showing our heroes resolve :)

I liked the musical interlude they had with all of the characters brooding over the recent event. Very nicely done.

That wandering AI is pretty creapy.

but the place they did go to was pretty strange! an empty city except for that super monster....and ms wander a.i. :eek: transcend death? I don't get this Mortie (sp?) thing at all! nice to see Reki help Balmung though and with his help the team is all coordinated and ready to go :)

hey, did Reiki run into the same girl Shugo met in the first episode? her face looked familiar meanwhile the execs at CC do the "weaselly executive" thing
the cerulean knights are still dead as are the hackers and the wandering AI is still creepy, transcend death? is that like the buddhist monk who went for a root canal and refused novocaine because he wanted to transcend dental medication?

I didnt see it last week or this one so I have taken that note out! I guess with the seriousness of the final third of the show they decided to stop paying Shugos dental bills :sweat:

is it me or was Kamui noticably absent :confused: with only 2 more episodes we better get some closer with her! also the scene with Rena wandering was really nice looking they must have got a budget bump because it was all shiny and pretty hehe

oh and good news everybody! CN's title for the next episode matches up with what I got so yay :)

It was cool how everyone got together when Shugo and Sanjuro were about to go and train. Then when Reki gave Balmung that keycard, while he was running he yelled out a hyahh-ing sound xD. And the song playing in the background when Rena was searching around the dead zone area sounded good. I wonder how she'll end up getting out of that place.

And near the end was also cool when everyone rallied together to beat that huge monster.

1. Ooooooh, poo-poo liddle girlie. All her liddle friends can't play with her no mo'. :( :D

2. It's so obvious Beau Billingslea (Jet in Cowboy Bebop) is one of the doctors.

3. "Warm tropic." Boy, that girl can't even use proper English like that pop-culture store "Hot Topic." ;)

4. Reiki, you're not caught between 2 worlds, unless by "worlds" you mean those 2 huge tracts of land. :anime:

5. So Reiki helped Balmung recover his confidence as a non-admin player-only chara. Yet, Reiki is pretty much untrustworthy to anybody. He's like a rudderless chaotic neutral character - very unpredictable, can be dangerous. :eek:

6. If Balmung was that depressed by losing his sys-admin uber-powers, imagine how power-hungry Kamui is taking it. :)

7. And Shaman King fans say "Morti" is a bad name. :p

Don't like how they pronounce Moruti's name. I like it said as More-roo-tea.....unless that's indeed how they said it but a little faster so it sounds like "Morty" <_<
Ah well, it was an ok episode. Have to watch it again, since I wasn't paying much attention.

That musical moment with Rena was one of the lamest things I've seen in the show, right up there with the constant "RENA!" "SHUGO!" screams.

"Dawn" (the music in that musical moment IIRC) is good. The show is going all out in the final stretch, I see.

I liked that music too.
But the "RENA!"/"SHUUGO!" screams have gotta stop...that's really the only problem I have with the dubbed cast; Rena and Shuugo's voices are annoying as hell.

Eh, at first I thought that the girl in the beginning was Kamui taking flowers to her staff... but if I remember rightly a few minutes later the same girl sat down at her PC and said something about transcending death, which means there's as much evidence for her being Morte as there is for her being Kamui.

Mm. As for spelling, I call her Morte because it means "dead woman" in French. Seems to go along with her personality pretty well.
