I remember seeing this show on Toon Disney around 2001, and I loved it. i remember sitting around in my room all day just watching Toon Disney, and getting up early on weekends just so I wouldn't miss S&MFCS. Anyways, there seems to be alot of hate for this show going around, but I loved it. I would love to see it again. But I was just wondering... what channel did this show originally air on? I was only about 4 or 5 when it first premeired, so I knew nothing about it until I saw it on TD in 2001. Anyways, I never even knew it was a Disney cartoon, but I do remember the S&MFCS toys some fast-food place(I think it was Wendy's). So what are your thoughts on the show? Holla Back! I'm Out.

I remembered that show only because I HATED the way it looked. Well, that and the fact that it didn't even resemble Disney at all. Looked too much like Ren & Stimpy, which I also hate for that same reason. I like to think of it as my first warning sign that Disney animation was going downhill. No offense. But that IS the only reason I remember it.

Well, as I recall, it came on a bit earlier than 2001. I think it was still on when Gargoyles was around, or at least right at the end. Which would place it about 1996, 97. I believe it was shown on the Disney Afternoon block.

I remember watching a few episodes of it, and I also remember remembering nothing else.

Everyone else seems to hate it, though.

I said that I never saw S&MFCS until 2001, when I finally got Toon Disney. And I loved this show. Why does everyone claim that it is a R&S rip-off? WTF?!? This show is even better than R&S in my opinion. Especially those "Pit Possum" shorts. Oh, and this show was on air from 1994-1995 on UPN I believe. The channel may not of been UPN, but it was definitely on air during 1994-1995.

And I could have SWORN that that show was on the Disney Afternoon. I'm not even sure UPN was around at that time.

Well, here it is. Looks like I was wrong. I also could've sworn Marsupilami was on DA, too. Go figure. Anyways here's the link (http://www.pazsaz.com/shnook.html) about the show.

Sorry to be so rude:D S&MFCS aired from 1994-1995, and so did "Gargoyles", only "Gargoyles" aired on ABC and S&MFCS aired on UPN. I don't remember much about Disney Afternoon, all i know is that it had the BEST shows. Oh, and "Marsupilami", another of my favorites, aired on CBS.

Just because the same animation studio that did R&S did S&MFCS doesn't mean that it is a R&S rip-off. Hell, you even said that C&C was also done by the same animation studio. So why isn't that compared to R&S or S&MFCS? You don't even make any sense:rolleyes:

I can remember bits and pieces of this show, I can't remember if I liked it or hated it. I don't think it lasted very long.

It won't be released on TV. It's one of Disney's most obscure animated shows. If the likes of Darkwing Duck and Ducktales can't get complete DVD releases then the odds for stuff like Shnookums and Meat are slim to none.

Yeah. I think segments aired in between Marsupilami episodes at first.

I haven't seen it, but it looks like something a rabid John K fan would do, (i.e. blindly copying Ren and Stimpy at every turn, unwilling to have an actual style of their own)

I liked it when I was younger but when I caught a marathon of it a year or so ago I was thinking "Why did I like this?"

Except that as I've mentioned in another Schnookums and Meat thread (which IMHO should be merged with this one), alot of the people who made the show were R&S vets.

I'm aware of that, but it feels like they were trying to make a carbon-copy of R&S.

Actually, the animation was done at Wang, who did a lot of work for Disney in the 1990's (and actually still do today). The guys did do a few Games Animation-era episodes of R&S, so I can still see the animation connection.

To my knowledge, Rough Draft wouldn't work for Disney until American Dragon: Jake Long, which used Wang and a lot of other studios Disney was unfamiliar with.

EDIT: Whoops. Turns out that Rough Draft also worked on Timon and Pumbaa, which aired on the same lineup in the same season. I went by the Wikipedia article, which doesn't list the show on their page.

2ND EDIT: I've now edited Rough Draft's Wikipedia page to include Timon & Pumbaa.

Both Gargoyles and Shnookums & Meat were on TDA in the 1994-95 season, just on different days of the week. Gargoyles was on Fridays, and Shnookums was on Mondays. (Also, Shnookums started in January '95.)

Wang wasn't the only studio that worked on the show - Toonz Animation in New Zealand was also involved. The studio also worked on Timon & Pumbaa, Quack Pack and Hercules (and the seldom-seen short Redux Riding Hood). Some of the Toonz crew had previously worked at Freelance Animators on Darkwing Duck and Goof Troop, as well as Tiny Toons, Taz-Mania and Animaniacs.
