View Full Version : How could a Wolverine animated series be pulled off?

One complaint that seems to pop up over and over is how limited Wolverine is in the animated cartoons. He can't cut through much besides robots and cars. How could Wolverine be realized to his full potential in the animated world? What steps would have to be taken? With his comic rated PSR+ (Parental Supervision Required +), it seems a bit obvious this would be tricky work.

Actually it's not tricky at all. There is only one way to do a Wolverine series properly. It would have to have uncensored violence. If he can't use his claws on anything except on non-living things then he isn't very effective. My opinion is either Wolverine TAS has uncensored violence or it's not worth the effort. Wolverine has the worst aim when it comes to his using claws in any cartoon he's appeared in so far. He probably misses alot when he claps his hands.

Uncut is always an option. MTV, Adult Swim, Toonami, or primetime would be were it gets shown. Problem is it would go to MTV 2 and not many people get that. And bring it to a network station and it wouldn't get treated properly. Cartoons and superheroes are "kids stuff," sure there have been cartoons on primetime, but those were all comedy. And same with superhero, but as a cartoon it just wouldn't get respect. I think it could be done cut. There is killing in cartoons. It just shouldn't be Logan killing everyone for the entire run-through. Now there is the tough part. Too balance Wolvie out you need other people. So having him in the X-Men would be best. And there should be a Cap and DD cartoon first.

I hate wolverine. He is basically the star of the x-men movies he has his own video game and he was a main character in all the cartoon series. i look at the x-men as being more of a team. trying not to be biased i wouldent mine if the hat a 2 or 3 parter starring an indivual charcter showing the background and stuff but i dont think any of them really deserve their own cartoon .. espcially not logan!!!

Alright DaCosta, I am going to do my best right now to save you from getting into trouble with other members. First things first, don't ever do that again. Doing that to a charechtor either angers people or makes them feel like they shouldn't like that charechtor. Now here's what I think you ment:
Wolverine gets too much attention in the movies, comics, and cartoons. The X-Men are a team, not supporting cast members. It would be an okay idea to do a double parter with one charechtor. I personally think that the X-Men don't work well on there own. So in my opinion Wolverine doesn't need his own cartoon.
Well I would say your right. Wolvie gets too much attention (on all three X-Teams, an Avenger, and in his own book). But I can see that working.
I'd watch it. It could be cool.

A Wolverine series would be pulled of by adding several other members of the X-men in the show, and just calling the show "The X-Men"
Suppose he did have his own show, the X-men will eventually guest star, and alot of the X villians would appear so why would they bother. Besides if they make a X-Men cartoon, you know they wont leave Wolverine out.
Hey, I just thought about it. They have Batman on his own show, and in the Justice league. Maybe it will work with two diffrent versions of Wolverine floating around, but Warner Bros owns the right to Batman so its no big deal for them to do something like that. Batman can exist without the league, but making Wolverine exist without the X-Men would take out almost all of his history.
Simple answer, put it some place where the rating would be 13+
Then you could have him cutting/stabbing things other than robots

It would have to be MTV or some cable outlet that didn't mind PG-13 or heavier material.. not FoxBox, not WB, not ABC, etc..
