Hey,

This show airs on FOX KIDS UK, and my brother and I used to love it back in the day. We recently had the oppertunity to see all 65 episodes on tape, and my brother was crushed to learn it never got a real ending!

Did he find his dad or not? Were more episodes supposed to be made?

Does anyone actually remember this show?

I do remember this show. There was only 65 episodes as far as I know. I don't think he ever found his dad.

Cool series. I never watched enough to really follow the continuing story, if there was one. I didn't like the mecha designs though. They looked too much like, well, toys.

Late to the party here...

Did it have an ending? No, but it was going to. Here from wiki:

Due to less than successful toy sales, Jayce's 65 episode run was not followed up, and it ended unresolved. However, according to Straczynski, a movie had also been commissioned along with the series, following in the footsteps of other toy-based animated series such as Transformers and GI Joe; if the series had proven successful in toy sales, production would have begun. Straczynski wrote the script, but due to the failure of the toyline, preparation for the movie was shelved.

Had the movie been filmed, it would have provided a sense of closure on Jayce, with his Lightning League meeting with the original Lightning League and being trained on the home world of the Guardians. He would be reunited with his father Audric, but according to Straczynski, Audric would have been killed by Saw Boss as the Monster Minds began a final assault on the galaxy, and in a final battle, Jayce would unite the root and kill Saw Boss, ending the Monster Mind threat forever.

Anybody who is interested in seeing a Volume 2 DVD set to finish off the series by Shout! as a direct to consumer release, I would highly recommend posting in this thread on their forums:

It worked for C.O.P.S. and Sonic, so it could work for Jayce, too.
