Good eeeevening....unless the sun is out, which for many of you I'm sure it might be. Anyway, hi!! For day and night timezones alike, it's new Fresh Question time!

I know commercials in general have gotten really really strange in the past few years, but as with all cases of bad, there are also many traces of good. And sometimes commercials are doing so well that they do "sequels," or continuations, probably in hopes we'll catch on with their product more easily. In any case, of the golden good ones that are unique and clever and funny, tell me:

What is your favorite ongoing commercial sequel??

The battle between the Budweiser frogs and lizards.
The Verizon man??
Something that's actually good?

You decide!

The Jack in the Box commercials have been great ever since the whole "Jack's Back" campaign began, which was 10 years ago now. The new one with the French guy may be the best yet.

I'm not sure that this would be considered a sequal in the classic sense, but for ongoing commercials, I loved the OLD Joe Isuzu commercials. :D

I loved the Budweiser frogs and later the frogs vs. the lizards. I also liked the Taco Bell Chihuahua. The Geico ad with the dog in it was funny:p

The Jack in the Box commercials have been great ever since the whole "Jack's Back" campaign began, which was 10 years ago now. The new one with the French guy may be the best yet.On the East Coast, I've only heard of Jack in the Box in two arenas (California-based movies and on the news during that period when I was introduced to the word E. colli). Thanks to The Food Network, the mad genius that gave me Iron Chef, Good Eats, and Unwrapped, I was introduced to perhaps the greatest fast food campaign ever made.

Some time in the late 80s, Jack in the Box had replaced their older look and iconic Jack in the Box mascot to appeal to older consumers who felt Jack was too "kiddy." By blowing up Jack's head in the ad, it was an end of an era. Ten years ago, a very brilliant advertising firm convinced the burger chain to resurrect the Jack character . . . literally. He was rebuilt into the ultimate spokesperson and took over the reigns of the company by blowing the executives up. From that point on, Jack became the spokeman and face of the company and created an image that was very business savvy, hip, and kid-friendly at the same time. I only saw a glimpse of these ads, but I got to say, I'm impressed.

- The new Old Navy ads where people get way too excited about mundane things. :)

- The new Sportsmart (sporting goods chain) ads. Their tagline is "when you look like a pro, you feel like a pro." One ad features a woman jogging and when she passes an outdoor café, she grabs someone's water and splashes her face with it. Another one has a guy coming of the ice from a pick up game and his wife is there to drive him home. she says something like "I'll be in the car," then he goes into the generic "gotta give 110%, the team was firing on all cylinders tonight, we have to get tough for the next game..." stuff.

- The Geico ads (not the stupid gecko ones, y'know..."I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance." :D)

I used to like some of the Energizer ads, too, especially the one with Darth Vader.

I must say I find the Priceline.com commercials to be pretty funny with William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy.

First the office people break it to Bill that they're bringing in someone new for the New Priceline, and Leonard stops in to say Hello..

Then while Bill is walking around a hotel explaining some of the benefits to priceline, his card to the room doesn't work.. The door opens with Leonard in a robe.. "Oh, I thought you were room service." *door slams*

Then of course, Bill trying to talk Leonard into a compromise, he talks about the original priceline features, while Leonard talks about the things that have been added.. Leonard responds by squeezing his squeek toy..

I just love their chemistry.. Didn't hurt that i'm a fan of their Trek days.. :p

I love the Quiznos mutants ads (I know they're officialy called spongemonkeys) those things didn't intice anyone to be hungry for Quiznos, but it did what a commercial was supposed to do, get people talking about the company name and product.

a new idividual ad I like was an olympics one where a weightlifter drops the weights thru a few floors and it crushes some dude's car. it was awesome. i think it was a insurance ad.
