That's it! I have got to get their CDs. The music's great.
So, Cheza, the humans, and Blue escaped, only for the guy and the Flower girl to get captured again. Jeez...
Nothing else great happens...
...I've got to get the songs for this series...

Damn it...all these new songs and music playing thoroughout the ep...and yet none on the Wolf's Rain Soundtrack. Bah...it makes no sense that their is only ONE soundtrack...
Well anyway, nice ep. I have a new respect for that litenuent guy. Its nice to know he changed his colors.
I thought it was pretty cute the way Toboe tagged one of the soldiers then jumped up, only to have to that soldier shoot his partner. That was amusing.
Blue telling Cheza she liked her scent. Wish I could impress a girl like that.:p
I thought that scene between Cher & Hauf? was very heartwarming. I hope those two make it in the end.
And of course the ep ends with Cheza and Hauf?. Amusing.
4 out of 5.
Easily the best so far. The action was there, the plot was there, and they even included a strong amount of character development for both the main and side characters.
And was anybody else hoping that Toboe would finally kill someone that wasn't by accident?
A+

I heard "Shi no Mori", "Friends", "Cloud 9" and "Heaven's not Enough" in this episode, all of which are on OST 2.

Man, finally I character I like...
Well, after bouncing between Quent and Darcia, I've finally picked the commander from tonight's episode as my favorite character.
At last, a human character that can handle himself in battle, and has pride.

Who was that third noble guy they were talking about Ortech or Onten or something. I can't remember his name, but I don't remember them mentioning him before. But, they said he was dead. Did that happen in the first 3 episodes?

It was a good episode, but I'm really starting to lose patience with the way the show's been going lately. Things start to pick up, then they calm down a bit, then pick up a bit again, only to completely slow down once more for a couple episodes (the "Kiba in fake paradise" episodes come to mind). Anyway, about the episode, it's nice to see some familiar faces again. The general or whatever guy had a change of heart and decides to go after the Nobles. Cheza, Blue, Cher, and Hubb are fine, I liked the conversations they had. And just when they were all together, they end up getting seperated.....another thing I'm starting to get annoyed with. Once people come together, they get ripped apart in a matter of minutes. Which makes for more "roaming and searching" episodes.
Anyway, I give Battle's Red Glare an A-. I just hope things actually pick up a lot now. Especially with the end approaching in a couple of episodes.

Since AS bought the Kikaider OAV that was pointless fanservice, why not the WR OAV that apparently does tie into the show?

Tonight's episode of Wolf's Rain was good, but sort of slow moving. Cheza, Blue, Hubb, and Cher are re-introduced, and we find out whats been happening to them since we saw them last. We also find out that the wolves are heading to another Noble's keep, and this time they have the encouragement of the commander who was once against them. I'm sure next week's episode will be a little more fast-paced.
I give Battle's Red Glare a B+.

This was a pretty good episode overall. I have to admit that it was slow at times, but the plot did at least seem to go somewhere at the end. My favorite part was when Toboe and Hige were playing around with the soldiers when fighting them by tapping them on the shoulder and knocking them down when they weren't looking. I didn't know dogs could drive, though!

Lord Orkum, who ruled the city they were in for the first few episodes. They showed Jagara's troops kill him off around episode 9 or 10, don't remember the exact episode number. He had so little screen time I'm not surprised you don't remember him :p

W.R. wants to destroy their destination however none of use wouldn't dare blow up our telivision..
Was great..action great..dog driving a car..:sweat:great ..a little drama..great

I know I'm in the minority here, but I actually think the Kikaider oav was a lot better than the Kikaider TV series. The TV series was slow as molasses, but the oav actually went at a decent pace.
As for why they didn't purchase the Wolf's Rain oavs when the bought the TV series, well, maybe they learned their lesson after Kikaider bombed. They could have saved some money if they waited to see how well Kikaider did before they bought the oavs, but they didn't, and they ended up losing more money.

I was impressed with "Battle's Red Glare". The fighting was good and the episode spent some time on the supporting characters. I was glad to see the commander of the human forces didn't go after Kiba and co. when he realized they were wolves.
Seems the nobles have many enemies.

I really enjoyed "Battle's Red Glare". I thought it was good, because each character had something in common and that is they wanted to protect someone. The supporting characters got a lot of time. I enjoyed the scenes with Cheza/Blue and Cher/Hub. Those were my favorite. This episode kind of proved to me that sometimes the human race can get along and be strong. At least that's how I felt watching it.
Overall: This episode rocked hard! A++

Things seem to be picking up. I laughed at the Hubb line: "I have have you all to myself and my hands are tied up." The best part of this ep... was the title. Battles Red Glare. Sounds cool. Who's willing to bet a Cher/Blue road trip? I'm not.

They could've done some research or at least, held off acquisition a few months till they knew more. The Kikaider OAV has little connection to the series. If anything, it's a rehash of the last couple of episodes with more explosions but without the background.
If WR really does no ending without the OAV, they've pretty much guaranteed that WR's ratings will always be horrible. I don't see the ratings right now justifying buying an OAV, so we'll be left with a series with no ending. A slow plodding series that four recap eps were cut from so that ratings wouldn't evaporate completely.

Yes.
Don't worry, he'll kill something next episode.
Hubb: Beam me up, Scottie!
... heh. I suppose I'm the only one who thought the nobles' beam thingy was a bit corny. Oh well.
Ya, I like the commander now. He's pretty cool... but not even close to Darcia in my eyes.
Nice episode. Can't wait for the next one. 'sall for now.
Wow, tough crowd.
I loved this episode. Just enough action, dialogue and visuals to keep the pace flowing well. A few good character moments really helped, too.

I like how Cheza speaks, instead of saying "me", she says "this one". It was great to hear Cheza and Blue laugh, given the situation they were in. I also liked the discussion Cher and Hubb had, while trying to get free. Looks like they'll have a wonderful future.
The action scenes were very well done, and the music was excellent along with it as well. Just when I thought they were going to make some progress, Cheza get's taken again, but now, with Hubb. I really like how all of the main character's are coming together. This is getting really good, now Kiba, Tsume and the others are all heading for Jagara's KEEP.
A magnificent episode all around, for me this week. =D

Strange how action scenes with super-powered illusion-wolves or whatever can feel so run of the mill, yet the simple scenes with Cher and Hubb work so well. Wolf's Rain is an odd series. I certainly don't think it has come anywhere near living up to the premise, but there are still some nice moments sprinkled here and there within.
I thought this was a pretty good episode of Wolf's Rain. The wolves helping out that commander, because he was being attacked by Jaguara's men. Then the commander helping them out by telling them where they should go.
Hubb and Cher got a nice amount of attention. Their discussion of wanting to go away, or Hubb saying that's why he's there to protect her. It was good. Then them escaping and helping Blue and Cheza out. Only to see Cheza and Hubb get captured. Looks like a battle is going to take place, this should get even more interesting.
"Battle's Red Glare" gets a B+.

1. Why were the wolves so casual with the soldier captain who before was so bent on killing them? They weren't intentionally saving his ass; in fact, they don't care for his well-being at all.
2. Heheheh, even Blue gets that hot lesbian feeling around Cheza. :anime:

I remember reading on some fan sites that paradise was found after Kiba died and Cheza spread her seeds. I remember something mentioned that they get reincarnated. Is that not true? Or did I just read something where the person read too much into what happens in those OVAs?

This seemed like a good episode. But I'm afraid I have to say I really had no idea what was going on. I mean, within the context of the episode I did, and it seemed to stand on its own well. But as for the overall plot of the series, I'm totally lost.
And I'm not really asking for anyone to update me on it. I'm pointing out that they needed to do a better job establishing the plot. Clearly that's the main problem with the series. They've focused way too much on the wolves wandering around and not enough on why it all matters.
I know I'm in the minority here, but I actually think the Kikaider oav was a lot better than the Kikaider TV series. The TV series was slow as molasses, but the oav actually went at a decent pace.
I don't agree completely, but the animation was way better in the OVA, and more importantly, the OVA ending absolutely mopped the floor with the original series' ending.

Another epsiode that's more about the humans and Blue and less about the four main wolves. Another good epsiode. But I repeat myself.

No, it's true.
The OVAs (aka the last four epsiodes) have all the good guys together setting off in search of paradise. Then Darcia shows up, and basically everybody dies, and Cheza turns into a tree, and then it flips to showing everybody walking around in a modern day city all normal-like à la the ending of Big O. The OVAs are an ending in that they wrap up the plot, but by no means are they an ending in that they settle anything. I'll rant more about it more once CN airs it.

Except unlike the Kik OVA the Wolf's Rain OVA was always meant to be a part of the series. Episode 26 is not a complete ending. I think that it would be a mistake not to show the OVAs. Who wants to watch a series that's incomplete?

This series is definetly proving how important to Bebop Watanabe was. Wolf's Rain proves all these talented people aren't doing a good job without a strong directorial influence to guide them. I mean, such a slow series and it dosen't have an ending? Watanabe wouldn't have allowed that ****.

Actually, all of Jagara's soldiers look female to me. They've just got that Samus look, I guess.I'm pretty sure they are female. Their faces have a very feminine quality to them. Not to mention their armor has boobs. Talk about a breast plate!
Seriously though, I think they're all women. And I think they've referred to Jagara as a "she".
I pity the Jagara soldier whom Blue stood on top off. Goodness knows what he saw when he looked up her skirt. :eek:Well, seeing as I think they're women, it wouldn't be a big deal. Besides, it's still an illusion. In reality, it's just a wolf-dog standing on the soldier. But because of the illusion, you'd see... panties? Maybe wolves have no concept of underwear and she goes... uh... commando? Maybe it's all solid plastic under there.
