I honestly think Nickelodeon needs to make another station and call it, "Classic Nick:"

It would be nice, but I seriously doubt they'd do it, especially since there are 2 digital cable channels dedicated (or almost entirely dedicated) to playing nick classics already. It's more likely that some of those older cartoons would air on Nicktoons (though that's doubtful, too).

What are you talking about. You should thank Nick for Nicktoons TV. And they barely air Butt-Ugly-Martians anyway.

I Agree. Nicktoons TV is a blessing. They air pretty much all of Nickelodeon's classics nicktoons, and some newer ones alos. And Nicktoons TV NEVER shows "Butt Ugly Martains". That show was never on the channel if I'm not mistaken. And if it was, than Nicktoons TV gave it the boot.

heh. Cute.
you know when you watch'd the classics as NICK first began and compare it tothe cartoons on now. You realize what aired back then was best.
Nick in the 80's, was more simple, fun- happy, shows. THe toons and shows where cleaner, nicer and it was a "Calm, happy' feeling.
I admit Doug, RugRats, Ren and Stimpy began the Nick Toon craze, but afterwards all NIcktoons began to be crude drawings that honestly look disgusting.
And I ap[logize if anyone thinks differently, but that's MY opinion and I'm sticking to it. If someone wants to whine, go ahead and whine like a baby. But the truth hurts, huh?
I'm almost 23 years old now, I grew up with Nick as it began to dawn, I seen alot and nothing compares to the great shows that aired back then.

Yes, that's your opinion and your intitled to it. But things like You Can't Do That On Television are crap-ass shows, and should never be shown again. Shows like classic All That, Keenan & Kel, The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, The Secret World of Alex Mack, or even Caitlin's Way or Cousin Skeeter I would love to see, along with many others. But the old, old shows just suck, and I would die if I saw those again. They straight up SUCK.

Of course they could make a classic Nickelodeon concept, but in reality, they don't need it. Nicktoons TV shows a lot of the Nicktoons era series on their network daily like Rocko, Angry Beavers, Hey Arnold, Aahh! Real Monsters, and others regular Nickelodeon doesn't show anymore (most of the pre-Nicktoon era acquisitions like Grimm's Fairy Tales, Noozles, Maple Town, Li'l Bits, and David The Gnome are owned by Disney, Count Duckula and Danger Mouse are owned by Fremantle Media, and Viacom has forgotten that Adventures of the Little Koala and Cartoon Kablooey are still in their possession).
Nick Games and Sports airs all the audience-participation/game shows of the past except the early seasons of Wild and Crazy Kids (I still don't understand that), from Double Dare to Double Dare 2000. It'd be nice if they could pick up repeats of Fun House, a show from the makers of Legends of the Hidden Temple that had perhaps the most eye-pleasing obstacle course.
Noggin . . . well, the less said about Noggin, the better. Let's face it, since Sesame Workshop pulled out of that network, the network has gone downhill. The classic Nick shows like Eureeka's Castle, The Adventures of Pete and Pete, and Clarissa Explains It All have been replaced with reruns of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Clueless, edited Daria episodes and countless episodes of Blue's Clues and Dora The Explorer, and all the great CTW shows are gone.
And you can't have a classic Nick channel without the classic Nick show, You Can't Do That on Television. The Canadian station that launched the series 25 years ago this year (!) owns the entire library and refuses to either air it in syndication nor bring it out on other medias (cough)dvd(cough) because they don't want to pay royalties to the actors and writers who gave the series life many years ago. Just a few episodes will be seen, and only the ones with Alannis (fun fact, did y'all hear that Alannis and Ryan Reynolds, aka Billy from Fifteen are now engaged? Two cast members from two Canadian shows that found fame on Nickelodeon: isn't that ironic? don't you think?). And Nick won't bring back shows they do have a considerable ownership in for the same reasons either, so you won't see the ranchhands at the Bar None Ranch nor Ug and the campers at Camp Unawana anytime soon.
So, unless the world shifts and people have a change in attitude, you won't likely see a Classic Nickelodeon. To Nick, the past is history, and while it's nice to remember, they want to look ahead.

But that's the way things go sometimes. Is it sad that the Canadian station that made it won't re-release it ever again because of paying royalties to the MANY cast members that were involved with it? Yes it is. But that's their choice, and as unfortunate as it is, we must move on. Btw, is there any other old shows from the 80's that Nick imported, but has the same situation like YCDTOTV?

What they should do is make a block on Nicktoons TV called "Classic Nicktoons". Perhaps weeknights from 7 to 10 since they're already weak in that time slot IMO.
7:00 - Rugrats (pre-Dil only though)
7:30 - Hey Arnold
8:00 - Ren and Stimpy (just not the Spike TV episodes of course ;))
8:30 - Angry Beavers
9:00 - Doug
9:30 - Aaah! Real Monsters!
And during commercial breaks, SPIDER AND FLY!!!!!:anime:
A classic Nick network wouldn't be needed if there were Pete and Pete DVDs, since Pete and Pete are the pinnacle of Nick programming.
