I received a letter from Columbia House last week, informing me that Volume 13 is no longer available, and Volumes 14 and 15 are postponed indefinitely... and my subscription was canceled.

After reading Jerry Beck's news, I called Customer Service for an explanation. They told me:

Warner Brothers canceled the contract with Columbia House. Some Volumes 13 and 14 were manufactured, and shipped to subscribers on a "first enrolled, first shipped" basis. All available tapes have been shipped; if you haven't received one, your subscription was too far down the list. Volume 15 will not be manufactured at all.

I'm going to email them, and try for a written response. If I receive one, I'll paste it here on the Board.

Update to my earlier post...

I received an email from Columbia House, and it says that the series is a "GO" and Volumes 13 - 15 will ship as scheduled. (Their 800 # service still tells me the opposite, but I'm putting my eggs in the email basket for now.)

Hopefully you read in an earlier thread about watchdogs lurking around in this group. In it we discussed how someone mentioned they were getting the Bugs Bunny CH tape just for this cartoon because it was "held from airing on TV".

At the time there was a three-week delay for the release of this tape- I had telephoned, and was told that the tape had to be "back-ordered".... (FROM WHO??!!?! YOU GUYS (Columbia House) PRODUCE YOUR OWN VIDEOS!!!). When the tape finally arrived, guess what- No "Hiawatha".

I'm quite sure there's no coincidence here, considering the lack of un-PC stuff on the rest of the tapes..... and keeping in mind that these are now supposedly one of their best-selling series (as quoted by CH themselves), any plans to slip one or two real goodies in there are out the window, now that so many people are purchasing these tapes. So, I wouldn't doubt it if #15 is indeed the final one in the series  .... God forbid a cartoon should make it onto the series that might offend one person....

But I'm holding out for that volume #15, mostly for the restored print of "Tweet And Sour", "Daffy's Southern Exposure", and hopefully "Tweetie Pie" with restored titles, I hope, I hope, I hope :)
