View Full Version : Is this idea too far fetched?

we've been talking about dream team ups and what we'd like to see in the new series on on direct to video movies and what not, but I got one I really would like to see that I don't believe has been metioned. The current JL characters meet the JL characters from Batman Beyond! Or is that too far fetched? I'd at least like to see them tackle it in the comic book series, but I most want to see it animated.

Well, the story itself isn't too far-fetched. Time travel's been done plenty of times, and I think that it could be done again. But I don't think that they will take on a story like that in the cartoon. To me at least, it just doesn't seem like something that they would be likely to do. But maybe they would have them guest-star in the comic.
I am still wondering how exactly they are going to do the pseudo-JSA team up. They probably will use time travel so that JL won't have to team up with a bunch of geezers. Wait and see, I guess...

You never know...The JL might not really "team-up" with the replacement JSA. Perhaps they will only appear in a flashback sequence, similar to the Jonah Hex guest appearance in BTAS. In such a situation there might be a threat that exists in BOTH time periods (Vandal Savage anyone?). I think I'm just hoping for this because I would love to see a story set in the 40's that uses all of those great retro designs of cars, gansters and tommy guns that were so cool in BTAS.
As far as time travel stories, even though it looks like he will not appear in any of this season's shows, one of the League's biggest foes from the comic books was The Lord of Time. A story with him in it could reach epic proportions. Imagine Superman trapped in the age of the dinosaurs, or Wonder Woman trapped in the era of the Greek gods or, I dunno, Flash trapped in King Arthur's Camelot. Junk like that. Such a story would really open the door to team-ups w/characters like Sgt. Rock or the Viking Prince or the Black Pirate. Or the Justice League Unlimited.

If this series is going to take on stories of epic and cosmic porportions, I think time travel could be a great possibility for such a story. I'd also like to see Sgt Rock in an animated adventure.

I read in Cinescape that Sgt. Rock is appearing in an episode where the JL travel back in time to WWII. They'll also be encountering the Blackhawks (this is probably the episode where they meet the pseudo-JSA).
As for the Lord of Time, I'm sure I saw his name listed in the press releases...

I posted the following a couple of weeks ago, but I thought I would post it again now that I have new rumors to add to the list...
* * * * *
Over the past few weeks and months I have heard the following rumors about who will and will NOT appear on the new JL show (many of these rumors I read right here on this board).
I have read that...
*All seven Leaguers will be in every episode.
*Only some Leaguers will appear in some episodes.
*Batman will be a full-time member.
*Batman will participate only when necessary.
*Plastic Man will appear.
*The Atom will appear.
*Metamorpho will appear.
*The Justice Society will appear in the 3-part season finale.
*The Justice Society will NOT appear at all.
*Lex Luthor will organize the Injustice Gang (members include Joker, Cheetah, Shade, Star Sapphire, Copperhead, Solomon Grundy, & Ultra-Humanite) and they will appear in the 3-Part season finale.
*Darkseid will NOT appear
*Darkseid WILL appear and organize the Secret Society (members include Lex Luthor, Poison Ivy, Cheetah, Gorilla Grodd, Sinestro, Star Sapphire, Chronos, Felix Faust, and Ultra-Humanite)
*And the following villians will also appear:
The White Martians
Amazo
Vandal Savage
Felix Faust
Dr. Destiny
The Manhunters and Kanjar Ro
Despero
Mongul and Draaga
The Key
Gorilla Grodd
and
Brainiac
* * * * *
As I said before, I know that the JSA is in fact being replaced, but now I can add Sgt. Rock and the Blackhawks to the list of guest appearances and The Lord of Time to the list of villians. This sure looks like a lot of stuff to show up in a series that already stars seven main characters and will tell only 12 (at the most) different stories in the first season.
It'll be fun to see how much of this they will actually cram into Season 1.

Ah, it looks some confirmation has come to light. Check out Maria (Hawkgirl) Canals' interview: http://www.toonzone.net/worldsfinest/worldsfinestpage/frames.htm
Looks like the JL WILL travel back into time (to the 50's though, not the 40's) and the episode is called "Legends."
I love the line about baking cookies.
