I own a pair but don't wear them, I should though.

I do wear sunglasses a lot, even in doors and at night.

I've worn glasses since the fifth grade, and I like 'em! I never bothered with contacts. Glasses are sexy, especially on women. :cool:Somebody has been watching his anime. But yes with the dawn of thin frames wearing glasses has become different. The amount of girls who seem tothink they look as you put it sexy makes life better for us glasses wearers. Also it is fun to stand in front of a mirror taking them off fast pretending your Superman.

I tried contacts in high school, but my eyes got irritated by them easily, plus I found them difficult to put in. So I wear glasses, though lately I've been training my eyes to see better without them.

P.S.: They're transition lenses- they become sunglasses outside. That's a nice feature. :D

I wear glasses, though I'd like to get contacts. It's not that big a deal though, since a lot of guys (such as Brian :D ) think women who wear glasses are attractive. Besides, they make me feel smart!

I wear both. In the past year or so I mostly worn my contacts, but that's mostly because the prescription was stronger. I can't see the T.V. with my glasses unless I'm only a few feet away. However, I just got new glasses (stronger prescription then contacts) so I'll probably wear my glasses more.

I wear both. Glasses at home, and when I'm too lazy to put my contacts on, and I wear contacts when I go out to school and other places.

I wear glasses, unfortunately. I got my first pair in early 1999 after having tried someone's on who had a prescription that must've been fairly close to what I needed. It was like a slap in the face, but in a good way. :p I realized then how bad my sight had truly become, and now I realize that I should've had my eyes checked years before that.

My eyesight is so bad that I got glasses when I was in third grade, one of the first kids to get glasses in my class. I've always hated them. I've always hated the way I look in them and not having any sort of peripheral vision.

So during my sophomore year in college, I asked my parents if I could get contacts. They agreed. And I love it! I have peripheral vision, I have 20/15 vision with my current contacts and nothing looks rounded (When I looked through glasses after wearing contacts for a while, it looked like I was looking through a fish-eye lens.). Plus I look much better without glasses.

If you want my opinion, contacts are overall better for the reasons I mentioned above. But I know some people don't like the idea of touching your eyes- it took me about a week to get used to putting something in my eyes. And it is more expensive- roughly $70 for 24 lenses when I order them. And you're supposed to wear each pair for 2 weeks (I wear 'em a month to save money). But I think the good outweighs the bad.

I got glasses in the second grade, and wore them solid til the seventh. Then I got contacts. I still wear them for the most part, but every now and then I feel like my eyes need a breather and I'll wear my glasses for a week or two. really just depends on my mood. Somedays I prefer the glasses to the contacts and vice versa.

I wear both but right now I can't wear contacts because I am taking this medication for my skin that makes everything dry even when I put contacts in my eyes that are quite wet still. You should see how thick my glasses are on one side too, I am so blind it's scary.

Normally I wear contacts. While I do like how I look in glasses I just have trouble with them always getting in the way. I often put my hands on my face and such and well I end up going through alot of pairs of glasses. Not so much now though more so when I had first gotten them.

I used to have to wear glasses when I was like 5, because I had surgery twice on them. Now, I don't wear anything even though I have terrible eyesight. Well, it's not that bad. I just can't see things from faraway.

I will be getting contacts though soon because I'm going to start High School and part of the reason I made a few mistakes was because of my eyesight.

no glasses here, in fact last time I was at the eye doctor (7th grade... so like... 1991/1992 ish...) the eye doctor said the only person with better vision than me was Superman :)

I do, however, wear sunglasses just about all the time... well, all the time I'm outside and it's light outside...

Glasses over here-- got a new pair with transition lenses (the sort that go dark in the sunlight) not too long ago, which are pretty spiffy.

...and everyone who thinks that the fad of people who don't need glasses wearing squarish ones with thick black frames and either no lenses or nonprescription clear glass lenses is incredibly stupid, raise your hands. These people are idiots who don't know what it's like to HAVE to wear glasses every day of your life and are spitting on our disability. I find the whole concept behind contact lenses unsettling, so I wear glasses, but not as often as I should.

My eyes are somewhat odd. My left eye is 20/20, but my right is severely nearsighted, my vision with it is 20/30 even with a ridiculously thick lense, which also makes my glasses unbalanced since my left lense amounts to mere window glass. Since my left eye see normally, I developed, prior to getting glasses, a habit of just using my left eye for distance viewing and my right eye for close viewing or reading, thus I never feel strongly compelled to wear my glasses. I also can't stand smudges or dirt on my lenses, so I'm neurotic about keeping my glasses clean and whenever they have even the smallest smudge on them, I can't bear to wear them.

Not wearing my glasses isn't really a good idea, however, since using them seperately didn't help my lazy eye (surgically corrected two years ago) and my eyes don't coordinate their images, so I have no real depth perception and struggle with some optical illusions (those damned 'magic eye' things never work for me).

So, short answer: I have and prefer glasses, but I don't wear them too often since I'm a neurotic mess.

I THINK THAT'S STUPID TOO!! My friend Maria does it, and she looks so much better without the glasses. It just seems lame - she doesn't have to deal with the bad parts of glasses (Like rain, snow, trying to eat hot food without getting your glasses fogged up), because she isn't near-sighted.

I wear both interchangeably. And I've got some pretty nifty blue colored contacts. ;)

Want. Transition. Glasses!

Yeah, I think that's pretty stupid. Those preps (most of the people doing that must be preps, thinking it's SOOO trendy) don't know how it is to be near sighted, far sighted, etc. It's pretty hard, man.

I guess people who do that in the animated world doesn't count. Ayane from Gatekeepers 21 wears glasses with nonperscription glass. Maybe she wears those so no one would think that she looks like her father, whom she hates.

I dunno if it's true or not-- I wouldn't mind it too much if it were true, though. I think it's different for actors, because they're playing a part, and if they think their character comes across better with glasses, that's their decision. I mean, even when an actor isn't literally assuming a role, they're always putting on a public persona when you see them on TV, and part of their livelihood is their image, so it's sort of a different thing.
Although I'll still give more respect to, say, a Weird Al, who had LASIK surgery and was straight up about it.

Want. Transition. Glasses!
They're neat. They can occasionally be annoying because they take more time to get light than to get dark, so going into buildings after being out in the sun can be a pain because it takes a minute or two to adjust. And I understand that after a number of years, they gradually lose their ability to change and sort of settle on an in-between level of darkness. But by that time I'm sure I'll need a new prescription anyway, knowing my eyes. And they are pretty pricy, but the difference between transition lenses and regular lenses (if you shop around and get a good deal) is comparable to the price of a good pair of sunglasses for the non-vision-fudged-up and way cheaper than buying a second pair of prescription sunglasses but without the annoyance of keeping track of two pairs of glasses and switching between them, so it's really not that bad a deal. I recommend them.

I wear eyeglasses, and I'll keep wearing 'em for the rest of my life. The thought of using contact lenses... the thought of STICKING THINGS IN MY EYES... I'll pass on that, thanks.

My vision isn't so bad that I can't live without my glasses; it's rated at 50/19. But I wore glasses when I took my driving test years ago, and it's now a restriction on my license. Also, I kinda like wearing glasses, partially because I've worn 'em since middle school and I'm just used to it.

I wear contacts most of the time. People ask me if I wear colored contacts cause my eyes are so blue, so I have to move them around to prove I'm not wearing them for fashion (like the trendy glasses). I wear my glasses when I'm hanging out at home because even after about 5 years of wearing contacts, I can still feel them in my eyes and they bother me most of the time.

I wear both, but mostly contacts. They're not bad at all if you take care of them. Since I've been wearing them for years (not the same pair, of course, I change 'em every three months), I don't even freak out anymore about sticking them in my eyes. Doesn't even hurt since they're light and I'm really finicky about keeping them clean anyway.

Haven't bothered to change the perscription in my glasses since the 8th grade, but it doesn't matter since I only wear them around the house. Mine don't make me look sexy. They make me look mousy.

Drew Carey has worn glasses ever since he was like 8. But maybe a year or even two ago he had laser eye surgery if memory serves correctly. So yes during the show towards the end he didn't have to wear them anymore but did for his character. But in public out and about doesn't wear glasses anymore.

Perfect eye sight. But my eyes (being green) are very sensitive to the sun, so I wear sunglasses most of the time when I'm outside.

I have a pair of Nikon sunglasses (I'm a Nikon fan) which, I payed almost $400 for in 1995. I have finally gotten sick of the frames, and have been looking for a new frame, hoping the optamologist (sp?) will be able to cut and set the lenses into. I've found a new frame. At the Dollar Tree. So, with any luck, I'll be putting $400 lenses into a $1 frame. I find that very funny.

I've been told I'll need glasses for driving in a few years but currently I don't need them.

I do occassionally wear the coloured contact lenses, I have grey eyes so the bright blue, green or dark brown are most fun.

When I worked at an opticians we had several perfect vision youngsters coming in for 'fashion accessory' glasses, drove me nuts, there are plenty of other ways to adorn yourself, using glasses for fashion when you don't need them (other than sunglasses of course) just seemed crass to me.

There again I am old :D

I have to wear glasses for reading. The vision in my left eye is very good, but the vision in my right is blurry, so the one lense is thicker than the other. I find that I absolutely have to wear my glasses when I am on the computer for an extended period of time; especially when I am working.

I've never worn contacts, and to be honest, I'm not really interested. I would love to get transition lenses; maybe I will one of these days (read: when I have a good health care plan that covers my glasses).

The only "problem" that I have with my glasses is that my conures will sit on my shoulder and will play with the arms in an attempt to get the glasses off my face - or when they fly to me, they'll land on front of my facing, using the glasses as a perch!

I got glasses in the 4th grade, and wore them non-stop until the 8th grade.

Then from 8th until 10th I was in full contact mode...I was embarassed to even wear my glasses (stupid, I know).

Contacts seem too much of a hassle and what if they fall out? (You won't be able to find them... )I don't think they're a hassle at all. It takes like 5 minutes a day and you probably won't even think about them until you're taking them out. It's higly unlikely they would just fall out You have to blink really hard.

Also I'm surprised so many people are worried about putting them on their eyes. I've had issues with all kinds of things getting stuck in my eyes and have had to wear eyepatches on numerous occasions but putting contacts in has never bothered me.

I wear glasses. I usually don't wear them because my vision isn't that bad, but I have to use them to read the board from the back of class or when driving. I had contacts for awhile, but they irritated my eyes so much that I never went back to them. I had blue contacts too, and I thought I looked cool with them, but the irritation just wasn't worth it.

My glasses look very academic. They have small lenses and thin metal frames.

I am nearsighted, and have eyeglasses. I rarely where them outside of school and locations with detailed views of nearby hills. The eyeglasses are uncomfortable, can sometimes cause the dark frame to appear in front of my eyes, and look bad. I have always had trouble when people tried to put anything in my eyes, so I do not consider voluntarily putting something in my eyes, such as contact lenses, to be a reasonable alternative.

I voted for glasses, but I got contacts this past weekend. I had a few problems getting them in the first day, and couldn't get them in at all the 2nd day. I ended up going back to the doctor's office on Monday for help getting the dumb things in. That night, it took me an hour to get them out of my eyes.

Amazingly, I got them in my eyes in 15 minutes today, but I'm dreading taking them out. To anyone else who has contacts, is it supposed to sting when you take them out? Half my problem getting them out yesterday was I hated the stinging in the corners of my eyes. If it weren't for the fact that I was told many times not to sleep with them in, I'd have left them.
I like the way I look in glasses and contacts, but I think I prefer contacts for my appearance. I still have to decide on that point.

Well, I have glasses. Does it count if I never wear them?

I did the same thing with my first pair for a few years. I had a really hard time getting used to them and they bothered my ears. They were basically "special occasion" glasses. I'd wear them to basketball games, or just big places in general with a lot of people. Otherwise, I'd just squint a lot. :p

My eyesight's really not that bad though. I just don't wear them because I don't want to get dependent on them just yet. I'm nearsighted, so unless its something far away that I need to see like a chalkboard, then I don't have too much use for them.

That's the exact way I felt, Pyro. I just hope you don't realize as fast as I did how truly blind we are. :p

My first pair were very uncomfortable, and I barely wore them. I'd squint or pull on the corner of my eyelid a bit. I musta looked dumb. Haha. Then they broke and my next ones slipped all the time, so I didn't like them either. My current ones are snug and comfortable enough, and I wear them all the time.

I'd kinda, sorta like to try contacts, but the thought of putting my fingers in there like that bugs me too much. I know people get over it, but I can't even stand getting water in my eyes (feels like all my eyelashes are poking the eyes repeatedly), let alone poking them every day.

To those who successfully wear contacts, I salute you!

I must be blind because, as you can see from my avatar, I have no eyes.:p

If it's stinging so bad, you may just have sensitive eyes. It also depends on which type you're using (Never ever use hard lenses!). I've used Acuvue and you don't even feel like you're wearing them, and it's even OK to sleep with them in- though it's not something you should do very often.

Contacts do take a little getting used to though, but once you do, you'll wonder why you ever wore glasses.
