First, slightly O/T here, let me join the raging chorus of "We Want Popeye! We Want Popeye! etc.", as we all get ready to gather 'round our sets and/or crank up the VCRs for Cartoon Network at last this Sunday night!!!!!!! Here's hoping.
Second, as Cartoon Arcade apparently sinks slowly in the west, I bid a fond farewell to taping and posting on that first half-hour of the WHSE/FUT toon powerhouse. (Yes, it was pre-empted again today for an infomercial, leaving me with three out-of-sequence, O/T half-hours for the careful taping over! And three strikes ... )
Now to the happier part!
Cartoon Junction
"Hell-Bent for Election" (Industrial Films [the formative UPA])
(Everybody sing: "Here's the way to win the war/You've got to get out and vote!") (1944-style, that is!)
The New 3 Stooges (Cambria Studio): "There's No Mule Like an Old Mule"
... and thanks to the double length of "Hell-Bent ...," that's it for today!
