According to a recent theory by some Swedish scientist, the lost island of Atlantis could very well be Ireland!!!

But let's think about something interesting. Lost cities, continents, civilizations, nations, and treasures. They always seem to spark interest into us folk and make us wonder if they actually exist and all that. Yeah, most of them may have been found or debunked, but don't you find such prospects of lost pieces of the world interesting? And if you do, would you wish to explore the vast reaches of the Earth to find it just like in the movies?

I once heard that America is Atlantis. It had kingdoms and civilizations before it was "conquered" sooo....

Wow... that seems pretty logical, but they could be wrong... again.

I'd rather have Atlantis be....Atlantis. While, if this is true, Ireland being Atlantis is a nice discovery and all, I want it to still be in search. I bet the Loch ness is the gaurdian of Atlantis and both are in that part of the ocean we can't go to.

I have always been interested in Greek/Roman mythology and stuff like Atlantis, so a discovery is great but I too wish that the story could still be in mystery.

Ireland???

BAH, the Minoans would have no interest in rain and snow.

Wow. That's an interesting theory, and sounds pretty probable. It would be really crazy if that came out to be true, I am a little surprised that no one had thought of it before. Trying to solve the mystery of Atlantis is a real mind bender..

wouldnt' that have been real funny to think ireland was atlantis.. and people might have had an advanced civilization 25,000 years before.. maybe a worldwide one, too, before the one we've recorded.

wouldn't it have been funny that, from the time north america was crossed over to about 6,000 years ago, that north america might have had a civilization.. but it collapsed, and they became primitive again..

indeed, what if the egyptians did have space travel capacity, only just about 2,500 years ago, any evidence of such spaceships vanished in a couple of invasions...and all what was left was just writings of a civilization sucessing with far less technology available.

this.. i don't find all that funny.

Those old civilizations are definitely hiding something from us....

if Atlantis really is Ireland....someone needs to re-check the shepard's journal or re-dial the stargate or something, as for egypt I thought the space travel was only for goa'uld system lords
