I am surprised they have not used the Superman song from "Five for Fighting". If you listen to the words it would be perfect for the show. The song talks about how even with all those powers Supes still has feelings.

So far, the show seems to be catering to younger audiences by playing a current alternative rock song at the beginning of each episodes which I think stinks. I'm also not crazy that Remy Zero song, "Save Me" is the theme song. An orginal score would've been much better.

It fit so much better on Angel though. "Finally, someone let me out of my cage..." I dont even remember what the context was playing it on Smallville.

I don't know why, but i actually enjoy the use of modern music in Smallville.

And i was really hoping they'd have the Five For Fighting song as the theme. I love that song, and it would have made the perfect opening.

I personally enjoy the theme song. It's pretty cool.

I really feel that the current theme just tries too hard. It doesn't fit. It sounds more like some teen-targeted rebellion song, and that just isn't what Smallville is about. Sure, Clark has powers and is trying to figure out who he is, but come on, this guy has "arguments" with his family that consist of him saying something, his parents saying something supportive and then him walking out of the room. Clark is a geuninely good guy (except when he beats up the villains at the end of every episode) and this theme gives off this idea that Clark needs to get out of Smallville and be "saved". In fact, hearing it makes me want to switch channels...not that I can do that while I tape each episode:D
