Tim Drake

K well I haven't seen it yet. But I heard the clips from Nass' site plus screenshots from several websites and the 80 second clip from comics2film. Anyways thoughts.
I'm not entirely happy with the Flash. He's not bad but I really liked how Flash sounded in the STAS episode Speed Demons. That's how I hear the Flash still. Leron Lester or whatever his name who did the Dick Grayson Robin.
The new Supes really does sounds similar to Tim Daly. Not exactly but he's not bad in any sense.
I can already see how the dialouge however is not as strong as BTAS. Its not bad but not perfect.
I noticed in the 80 second preview and one of the reviews made a comment about Flash moving with a blur but at not a fast enough speed. It concerns me. I'm sure they did so in order for us to see him but Flash still needs to move like the Flash which is a red blur most of the time.
Anywho that's my thoughts on the matter.

This contains some spoilers! So turn away if you don't want to know!
The show starts out on Mars, where astronauts turn up something that will ultimately threaten the existense of humanity. It really starts out with the mystery well. I won't get into much details beyond that, but I did like the mystery set up at the beginning of the pilot. As a viewer, you're left in the dark and you discover things as our heroes discover them, so there is a good element of surprise.
The first hero we see is Batman. I was so glad they did that. I think that seeing Batman first really connects the series with the original Batman series and it's great to see the classic Batman in action again on TV. His long ears are a little unsettling at first, but like DG said, you do get used to them. In fact, I didn't even think about them for the rest of the pilot. I noticed them when he was standing with Superman but beyond that, they weren't even an issue anymore.
You see Superman next. Batman's investigations had taken him to a lab outside of Metropolis. It's great seeing these two characters together again. As for Superman's look and voice, they didn't bother me at all. I feel the new voice for Superman is every bit as good as Tim was.
Martian Manhunter is introduced in a very interesting way. He's the one who uses his telepathic abilites to draw all these different heroes together to fight the alien menace. He tells a back story which lets us in on the mystery that we saw at the beginning of the pilot, and again, I won't reveal much about the details. I just liked the way his character was introduced.
Flash, I said it before and I will say it again, I found annoying in this pilot episode. I know his character likes to keep things light, but it's almost like he was making a joke all the time at inappropriate times. I found him pretty hard to bear.
And I guess I didn't get where Wonder Woman was coming from. She lives on this idyllic island and this major threat comes against the planet, and they are like, "Oh, we don't need to help. We are protected by the Gods." Ummm...I thought they were put there to help protect humanity? I honestly don't know, cuz I never read Wonder Woman's comic books. I might be wrong. But the impression I got was Wonder Woman only went to help because she was summoned against her will by Martian Manhunter. (now, will Martian Manhunter's mind tricks work over Jedi mind tricks?)
I did like Green Lantern, too. Phil Lamar does a good job at voicing him, and I hope to see more development of his character too.
And Hawk Girl...I guess I didn't get much into her character either. But I hope to see more development of her character.
So my thought on the characters is you have four strong ones and three that need some improvement. And I would like to see more of a motivation for them to stick around than "let's join together and fight bad guys." Especially with Wonder Woman. She came from a race that could have cared less. She was summoned there, so as far as I know, unless she was summoned by Martian Manhunter, she would have opted to stay on the island too. Batman choses to not join because he's not a people person. Why does Wonder Woman stay around then?
The pilot also did a good job of showcasing all of the heroes' strenghts and weaknesses. They all have moments where they are defeated and they all have moments where their powers and their contribution to the team come thru.
I don't know if this series will break any new ground, or convert any new fans to animation (tho I think it will, but not on the scale Batman did) but I think it's going to be an awesome series. Of course there are flaws, but I am going to focus on the strengths of the series.
