View Full Version : Pop-tarts rule!

I just had to make a thread praising the greatness of Pop-tarts. I just love them. I don't think I've ever eaten a pop-tart I don't like. The only flavors that I don't think I've tried are the chocolate chip ones, the chocolate chip cookie dough ones, and the hot fudge sundae ones. I think I've tried just about everyone. I definitely prefer the frosted ones. The naked ones are just wrong, exposing their little holes in public. But, I'd eat them even if they are exhibitionist pastries.
Of course, there's always been one frosted pop-tart that I've never been able to find. The frosted apple cinnamon. I saw them on the back of the box one time, but I've never seen them sold in a store. I guess since they're already covered in cinnamon the frosting on the apple cinnamon is swirled on and doesn't cover the whole pastry. I need to try frosted apple cinnamon. Anyway, I think my favorite pop-tart flavor would probably be Cherry.
Oh, by the way, those Quaker Oatmeal things suck. I like Oatmeal, but for a toaster pastry, pop-tarts crust just works better. And for the record I've never tried Pillsbury toaster Strussels. I don't like it that you have to freeze them. If I wanted to waste freezer space I'd buy some frozen french toast and sausage.

I could easily put away four or five Pop-Tarts in one sitting back in the day. Back before it was considered a bad idea.
Strawberry, cherry, and wildberry frosted were my personal favorites. The brown sugar ones were alright, but I ate then more or less out of sympathy since they probably weren't as popular as their more vividly decorated brethren. At some point, I gave up Pop-Tarts for the the Pillsbury toaster thingies, since they had better filling (I never much cared for the icing).

I only eat chocolate and cherry. And I can only eat the chocolate one untoasted. The cherry one I can eat either way, though I do have a slight preference to toasted.

I love all poptarts, though I prefer the non-frosted or "naked" ones, as that's what I was used to growing up. I remember when they first frosted them, it was a fun novelty at first, but then the novelty wore off and I was back to my plain ones. Blueberry to be exact. I am a sucker for the "Special edition" pop-tarts though, like the "Timone and Pumba" or "Spongebob" ones, probably because of the candy sprinkles. We have some pop-tarts in the pantry. You're making me wish I'd had those for breaskfast instead of french toast sticks...
I dreamed I was going to buy pop tarts.
But it was only a dream.

The chocolate fudge ones make me throw up, but the s'mores ones are great.
I greatly prefer Toaster Strudels. Trust me Master Moron, it is worth the excess freezer space. Pure heaven.
PopTarts always shout out 'Buy me buy me' when I'm idling around the breakfast shelves of the supermarkets, especially when on vacation in the States but I've learned through experience that whatever the pretty picture on the box, these things all taste like sugared cardboard to me so they're best left to someone else's toaster.
The US has far more interesting flavours than we get in the UK too *sulk*
Nice subject for a thread ^_^

S'mores, Blueberry, Hot Fudge, and Strawberry Pop-Tarts rock you like a hurricane.
Has anybody tried to eat some of the chocolate flavored ones frozen? I've never tried it before.

Hot Fudge Sundae tastes great frozen, and is one of my favorite flavors. Chocolate Fudge, Chocolate Chip, and Frosted Chocolate also top the list.
Anyone see a pattern?

I love poptarts. My favorite is the smores, I think. I used to like Toaster Strudels better for a while, but then I realized poptarts are better. The Toaster Strudels even get half cold half warm somtimes!! Ya, so poptarts rule.

Never should've came here. I NEED POP-TARTS!!!!!!!
I've never had those Toaster Strudels before and Hot Pockets have new uh food with icing and a lot of fruit filling inside. Like a mini pie.
As for Pop-Tarts, I always eat them untoasted because a lot of the time I eat Pop-Tarts, I'm lazy. I enjoy all the berry flavors. I'm not a big fan of chocolate. In general.

They have "Hot Pockets have new uh food with icing and a lot of fruit filling inside. Like a mini pie"? I never heard of it. Cool, anyway.

Me too, but I can't find the stupid things anymore! :( Every time I look for non-frosted blueberry or strawberry (my favorite), all I see are frosted ones. And not only are they frosted, but they offer a couple of different kinds of frosting, too. Bleh. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Since I can't find those, I like an occasional classic chocolate, chocolate chip & caramel or apple cinnamon.
My current favorites by far are the s'mores ones! Even my "how can you stand those cardboard things?" mother likes them. :) I think maybe it's because with s'mores Pop Tarts, the cardboard is replaced with graham cracker.

My grocery store just recently started stocking the unfrosted regular poptarts again. Before that, the only way I could get unfrosted was to get the "lowfat" pop-tarts. Really, I can't taste the diffrence between the low-fat and the regular anyway. You might have better luck finding those than the full fat unfrosted kind.

I used to put them in the toaster but I don't really bother anymore. Now I just take them out and eat them ;)

Clever. VERY clever. :)
I used to eat the wildberry ones alot in high school. Now if I do get them it's either strawberry or cinnamon. I find them infinitely better than Pillsbury Toaster Strudels. They don't have to be toasted and I like them better when they aren't. Toaster Strudels either burn my mouth severly or never toast properly and are all cold. You don't have to worry about icing pop tarts aren't as messy and don't get flakes all over.:)

HA! Take THAT, Toaster Strudels!
Hey guys, ever tried these bootleg pop tarts called Toast 'Ems? My mother used to buy those for me instead of Pop Tarts sometimes. You know why? Because the only ones left in the store were the ones with the frosting, and she says too much sugar isn't good. And Toast 'Ems plain SUCK! They taste like CRAP!
LONG LIVE POP TARTS! POP TARTS FOREVER!

I saw the frozen pop-tarts commercial so many times that I feel like kicking that big furry white ape thing.:p Anyway, I haven't ate it yet. But I'm eager to soon. Especially now since you said it's so good.

Pop Tarts are pretty good. The best ones are probley Smores, and the chocolate chip. I never really like the toaster studaul thingings but I perfer Hot Pocket over them in my opinion. Like most people I don't toast my pop tarts.

I think Pop Tarts taste better toasted.
There's this supermarket here in New York, as well as New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, called Path Mark that sells their own versions of Pop Tarts, except they're simply called toaster pastries. Those actually taste better not toasted.

i havent' had any in a long time..
way, way too long a time.
anyway, gelatin's my thing now.
Pop-Tarts are just simply ok, there's too much bread and not enough filling. I've spent many monthes eating the chocolate chip ones until I tried the fudge Toster Strudel. I MUCH rather eat one of those than any Pop-Tart.
Good Ol' Batmanuel!

fudge Toster Strudel
That sounds good. I've only seen the strawberry and apple ones so far. Are the fudge ones like those, only it's chocolate inside, or what?
That sounds good. I've only seen the strawberry and apple ones so far. Are the fudge ones like those, only it's chocolate inside, or what? There's only chocolate inside (it gets melted in the toster) and it comes with its very own packet of chocolate icing. It might only be a limited edition for Shrek 2 but its simply delicious.

What no chocolate crust? The chocolate fudge pop-tarts have chocolate crust.

My favorites are Wild Berry, Raspberry, Strawberry, Chocolate Fudge, Smores.
Here's a Pop Tart question for all of you:
Anyone have flavors they wish would be in pop tarts?
I've wondered why no Chocolate Mint or Orange? Maybe Grape flavor.

My tale of Pop Tarts woe:
I was eating a Pop Tart once and felt a small, hard object in my mouth. I spit it out, and found that I had broken one of my molars in half.
Yes, while eaing a Pop Tart!
It did not hurt at all, surprisingly, so being the idiot I was at times back then, promptly forgot about it.
A couple of months later, it DID start hurting, badly. A horrible toothache. I ended up having to get a root canal.
If there's a moral here, I suppose it's 'be careful when eaing chewy things'. Or maybe 'don't ignore it if you break a tooth in half'.
By the way, I stil eat the occasional Pop Tart. I like the smores flavor.

My oldest brother and I both like the unfrosted "naked" :p Brown Sugar flavor Pop-tarts, but only 2 stores around here carry the unfrosted version  , everyone else just carries the frosted version.

Frozen pop tarts are a thing of beauty. They are as chewy as the commercial lead you believe. Toasted is great too.

S'mores and the hot fudge sundae flavored ones are my favorite. I usually get them (along with other breakfastries) whenever I get tired of the toaster strudels.

Regular Pop Tarts (Not the ones that are...a-nude) are awesome. Especially toasted. I just don't like the ones with sprinkles. Their sprinkles taste awful. But filling and crust rules.

I absolutely love the brown sugar ones! Cherry is alright, but anything cherry-flavored makes me think of kiddy medicine and then I don't want it. And those chocolatey ones rock too.
I've never had a toasted Pop-Tart; I always microwaved them, if I wanted a hot one.

...Is that Kellogg's introduced a whole new slew of flavors for Pop-Tarts in the 2004-2005 time frame.
My favorites currently are:
Strawberry Milkshake
Frosted Hot Fudge Sundae
Frosted Caramel Chocolate
Frosted Chocolate Fudge
Chocolate Chip
All of these flavors only came out in the last few years.
