If anyone besides myself checks out the Star Wars Insider magazine you'll know of this months issue top story is the Top 10 Classic trilogy moments. If you haven't seen here is the list:

10.The Crawl/Tantive IV Chase (A New Hope)
9. "We Have Spotted Imperial Walkers" (The Empire Strikes Back)
8. Luke Returns Home... For the Last Time (A New Hope)
7. Darth Vader Unmasked (Return of the Jedi)
6. Luke Faces Vader On Dagobah (The Empire Strikes Back)
5. Yoda Makes the X-Wing Take Flight (The Empire Strikes Back)
4. Destruction of the 1st Death Star (A New Hope)
3. Darth Vader Overthrows The Emperor (Literally) (Return of the Jedi)
2. Han Solo's Deep Freeze (The Empire Strikes Back)

And the number 1 moment.

1. "No-I Am Your Father." (The Empire Strikes Back)

Me personally I agree with all these except I would've chosen:

Luke telling Obi-Wan he wanted to learn the ways of the force and become a Jedi like his father instead of his return home to see his aunt and uncle murdered.

Yoda revealing himself to Luke in his house rather than him making the X-Wing fly.

Han Solo's last minute rescue of Luke before the destruction of the Death Star.

What do you guys think?

Yeah, Holla at ya boy!!!

my favorite will always be Yoda screwing with him and hitting R2D2 WITH THE STICK! I was laughing so damn hard watching that little green muppet beat a droid.

10. Vader and Fett - "NO distintergrations" *Vader wags finger* A great moment. You have this feeling that Fett is a compulsive disintergrator - maybe disintergrated the odd waste bin, Vader's special paperweight... it was a point Darth needed to underline before it went any further..

9. Han's bellowing down the Death Star corridor. Chasing the troopers till they are cornered. The original version was so much better. Even 4 Troopers when cornered are worth running away from - the new version was just stupid, he enters a hanger full. It just diminishes the threat of Stormtroopers.

8. Luke/Vader lightsabre fight - the end when Luke throws a wobbly and starts a hacking attack until he manages to cut off Vader's hand. Great fun.

7. The asteroid chase - Stiring music and some great visuals. Simply a great chase scene which manages to move with such grace.

6. It's a cliche, but the "I am your father" has to be in there. Hamil's break down is great acting. Luke looks really ugly as he falls apart at the news (literally) - not many actors which would let them look so ugly on screen.

5. "We can't out run them but we can sure outmanoeuvre them" - a rib at the 2 dimensions used in space films. Funny watching Star Destroyers colliding in the night...

4. "I thought that woolly beast would be the end of me.." *beep* "What? Of course I've looked better!" One of the funniest moments in the film - aside from the often overlooked R2 mistaking a powersocket for a computer terminal.

3. Han's surprise attack at the end of New Hope. His cry of victory as the Falcon flys down masking the sun behind it. Really stirring moment. The fact Han pulls through for the final act just makes the scene. What a fanboy I am..

2. Han and co meeting Vader for Dinner. A great surprise at a good Vader building scene. With so many imperials being thwarted or killed so easily, it's nice to see Vader's power amplified. The second lead in the movie hasn't a chance against him. It really puts Han and Vader in their respective places. Good shocking scene to.

1. The carbon freezing scene. Dramatic, emotional and shocking. Han looks brave yet vunerable. Great character moment.

10. When Dack says that He feels like He could take on the Empire

9. "Use the Force, Luke" 'Nuff said.

8. The Speederbike chase

7. Vader and Fett (Sorry SJJ, you were right!)

6. Han and Chewie chase a stormtrooper down a hall and enter a room full, shoot one, and run away.

5. The battle of Hoth.

4. When Porkins blows up (Biggs says "You need help, Porkins?" He goes "No, I'm fine." BOOM!)

3. When Greedo met Han.

2. Obi-Wan vs. Darth Vader

1. When The Emperor dies.

10. Escape from the space slug - That was classic.

09. The opening shot of Episode IV- Seeing the Rebel Blockade runner fly over camera in a theater was just awesome.

08. Obi Wan/Vader Lightsaber duel - I can quote this verbatim.

07. Asteroid belt chase

06. The Sail barge battle sequence

05. Luke and Leia jump the chasm - Of course this scene now makes me a little quesy (for obvious reasons).

04. The shot of the X-Wings flying over Yavin from SE

03. Vader's unmasking sequence - Shame its meaning is gonna be lost on dvd.

02. Death Star Trench sequence - All of it.

01. "This is a day long remembered. It has seen the end of Kenobi, and it will soon see the end of the Rebellion." - BEST. STAR WARS. LINE. EVER!

I have to disagree with this. I'd have to say the new version is better than the old version. In the original, Han starts chasing them down the hall and then...they just stop and turn around and Han runs away. It's like "RUn men, run! Hey wait, there's four of us...let's turn around! Turn men, turn!" Whereas in the new version,m the Stormtroopers are clever and lead Han into a docking bay full of Stormtroopers, which makes the face he makes even funnier.

Anyway, it's impossible for me to make a list. It's just too hard. There's so much great stuff.

Routing an enemy doesn't always work. Eventually - because they are cornered or because they wise up, it can mess up. I liked it as it showed Han was falliable and that Stormtroopers were dangerous. That's what happens when you rout. People don't run forever. It was a good and vaguely realistic scene.

This new version, just shows how wacky it can all be. If Han met a hanger of Stormtroopers - who all knew the decks - I don't think he would get away.. it was just silly.

I thought the new version was totally obvious and lacked the humourous subtlety the film offered before.... as with most of the new scenes...

But each to their own perspective! Just surprised people liked that redress. :)

Let's see, well I can't think of 10, which means I have to start watching the OT again.. but I have some fave moments..

Obi-Wan vs. Vader (A New Hope) -
Vader: I've been waiting for you Obi-Wan. We meet again, at last. The circle is now complete, when I left you I was but the learner, now I am the Master.
Kenobi: Only a master of evil Darth.

Obi-Wan and Yoda on Dagobah (ESB) -
Yoda: Told you I did. Reckless is he. Now, matters are worse.
Kenobi: That boy was our last hope.
Yoda: No. There is another.

Han chasing the Storm Troopers (ANH)

Vader with Luke in Cloud City (ESB) -
Luke: I'll never join you!
Vader: If you only knew the power of the dark side. Obi-wan never told you what happened to your father.
Luke: He told me enough! He told me you killed him.
Vader: No. I am your father.

Leia and Han in the Carbon Feezing Chamber (ESB) -
Leia: I love you.
Han Solo: I know.

I love Star Wars.. :D

Sorry SSJ gotta go with Obi on this one.

I like the SE version of that scene because it expanded on what could happen if you run into a fight without thinking first, and in return he ran into a lot more than he was expecting.

This is the danger or altering material the intention wasn't meant to be he was running into a fight without thinking. He was routing the troopers. I may have to recheck my video, but I'm pretty sure they hit a dead end.

Quite frankly if you run into a wall of troopers like that, you are dead - period. Instead of adding to the "falliable hero" that Ford plays, it just sends the character and the whole situation up making stupid and not at all funny. From being quite an intelligent and unique it's turned into something unimaginative and done many times in films: Think you are fighting just 4? Round the corner there's a whole lot more!!! Meh. :)

Problem with the SE - they were constantly trying to thing BIG. Everything had to be BIGGER. You do that, you lose some of the smaller and more finer qualities.

Without this, there would'nt be others..the last fifteen minutes of "A New Hope" Where Luke and the crew take on the empire, and Luke flies into the trenches.and Han saves them with a couple of last minute shots. .the editing, won Luca's wife, an Oscar, and without such a great end, there would not have been any of the rest of if. It was so electrifying to watch, that when sequels were announced, they were eagerly awaited, as they still are..Stuart:)
