The ring doesnt give him superstrength really but he can use it to move objects of incredible weight through willpower and focus of the emerald energies. In a recent issue of the JLA comic Kyle Rayner (GL) Superman and Wonder Woman together where able to move the moon.

Well, he could put a field around him that increases his strength. He did that for Batman in "JLA: The Nail." Yeah, it's an Elseworlds, but it had no effect on GL's ring powers.

Nope, it just enables him to fly and make weapons with it. I can't wait to see what type of things he'll come up with in the series. Hopefully it'll be more than just bland force sheilds.

Well, John Stewart is apparently more of a military guy, not having the creativity of Kyle, Hal, or even Alan Scott in his later years. So I don't see him coming up with wacky ideas. I've always thought, ever since I saw "In Brightest Day," that there was a real shortage on cool creations with the ring. I mean, the most creative came from, of all people, Sinestro himself (buzz-saw, missles, axes, super-traps to hold Superman). All Kyle did was make some shields and beams.

Yeah Kyle didnt make anything that creative in the episode he made stuff that Hal Jordan would have made really lame stuff like hands and sheilds. In the comics Kyle as a artist and Lantern is a lot more creative.

I thought that some of his creations were pretty creative. He stuck Sinestro in a big wad of gum. At the end of the fight he made a bogus booby-trapped ring. And the giant lantern at the end wasn't all that original, but it was symbolic, and was true to the artistic nature of the character.

Actually, Alan Scott's ring made him "immune to metals" so that is kind'a like having superstrength.

Also, during In Brightest Day, Kyle was still a JL rookie who probably didn't have a whole lot of confidence in himself. While he's more creative in the comics, he's also a lot more experienced.

I don't yet have much confidence in JS's creativity... military or not, he could create a big tank or a giant grenade! ;)
