Does anyone have more news on Poison Ivy being on the show? Like the last thing I read about it was just a rumor. I was not sure if anyone was able to confirm this or not.

Once again, let me direct your attention to Toon Zone's very own news board! We posted all the JL baddies there... and that info was straight from Cartoon Network, so I'd say it's pretty true... :)

I was actually suprised to see her listed becuase she's not exactly one of Batman's big-time foes, no where near the level of Joker. But the surpise was welcome...

Personally, I don't consider Ivy to be one of the huge threats, like Joker or Two-Face. But I do consider her a big villian. Remember this is just my opinion and it obviously differs from yours. I totally respect your opinion, just as I hope you do mine. I like the character, but I think there are other villians who are more of a threat than her. (Again, no offense)

Poison Ivy is a cool villain but I always found Two Face, Joker, and Bane to be Batman's most terrifying villains.

Well like if they gave Ivy more stories she would be a bigger threat than Two Face. I think most of the writers just do not give her a chance. She is much more powerful and interesting than Harley Quinn and they gave her, her own book. I think it is just because no one wants to be bold and give her the shot she deserves. Do not even get me started on how terrible Catwoman is. :)

I also think Joker has been used into the ground and after Last Laugh, it is really time for them to use someone else, like Ivy. :)

I agree that Joker has been used alot. Whats wrong with Catwoman? The only Batman villain I don't like is Penguin.

Her seductive powers could make her a huge threat, of course, not as big a threat as The Joker, but more so than Two-Face. The worst thing he ever tried to do was kill everybody in Gotham.

Penguin is soooo boring but I like him more than Catwoman. I just like have never been a fan of Catwoman. I have always hated her outfit till the new adventures, the purple cat suit was sooo terrible and lets not talk about her new one. ;)

Ya know I think Two-Face is more of a threat to Batman than Poison Ivy is. Harvey Dent and Bruce Wayne are friends so that always makes things difficult. While Two-Face has no access to anything that rivals plant power, he poses more of a threat because Bruce has sympathy for him.

This all has to do with personnel prefence. You obviously really like the Poison Ivy character. I'm not a huge fan of her. No fact or story is going to make me like her more. That's just how I am. I also believe that she could no way support an ongoing series. A mini-series, possibly, but not an ongoing series. To me (again - my opinion) she just seems like a villian with a plant fetish. While she is attractive, that doesn't make her more of a threat. Again, this is my opinion and should have no bearing on anyone else's opinion.
And I can't wait for the new Catwoman series....

Poison Carley, I kind of agree with you here.
While Two-Face and Catwoman are my two favorite Bat-villains, I have often wondered why Poison Ivy is treated only as an appendige to the Batman universe. Her powers exceed those of most of the other villains, but personality-wise she just falls flat.
To compare, Harvey Dent struggles with mulitple personalities and as DG pointed out, has very close ties to Bruce Wayne, the Joker is unpredictable, humourous (though I hate to admit it!) and a monster, and Harley is funny, pathetic and someone everyone can sympathize with. Though I don't think Ivy's love for plants is a "fetish", it certainly doesn't make her someone we can relate to. The fact that she's gorgeous really isn't unique since Catwoman is renound for being the hottist Gotham Gal, though her friendship with Harley does help us to like her more.
All in all, I would have loved to see an episode of TNBA or B:TAS in which Ivy just loses it and tries to turn Gotham into a garden of Eden (perhaps with Ra's Al Ghul's help), unleashing giant tentacle vines from the earth to rip up the buildings and send the city into chaos. We all know she could do it, but the writers never gave her the chance. Instead, she tried to turn people into trees, turn plants into people or fight male chauvenism. And while I have very much enjoyed her episodes, I, like you, long for something more. Perhaps Justice League will finally give her the chance to do some damage, though it does disappoint me that she will only be a member of a villain-team.
As for a comic series, though, she really doesn't have the charisma needed to support a monthly book. I love her friendship with Harley, her powers, her looks, her voice in on B:TAS and the fact that there is still so much that can be done story-wise with her deep-rooted insanity. Even if she never gets the full attention she merits, I think it's enough that she has ture fans like you:)

I've given it some thought this weekend, and I can see why they chose Poison Ivy...
First off, I'm pretty sure that she was a member of the Silver Age Secret Society of Super-Villains. This is a nod to that.
Second, she is one of the only Batman villains who is more apt to work in a team of villains. The Joker is way too unpredictable (Harley Quinn is too). Two-Face, Catwoman, the Penguin, Killer Croc, and the Ventriloquist/Scarface aren't terrorists--their collective motivation is money. Other gallery members--such as the Riddler, Mad Hatter, and Calendar Girl--are too specialized and would require plans to change in order to accommodate their odd quirks. Mr. Freeze could have worked, but he isn't as willing to destroy the world to achieve his ends (see Deep Freeze). Clayface could have worked too, but what he really wants is a cure for his condition and to be able to go back to his acting career. Ra's Al Ghul is a world conqueror in his own right...one who is unwilling to compromise his personal vision.
That pretty much leaves Bane, Scarecrow, and Poison Ivy as potential Secret Society members. Unlike the other two, however, Poison Ivy has actual super-powers (plants obey her). She's also a bit more stable and can work with others (she never betrayed Harley Quinn or Livewire). She's also very cute (I love her "Goth Ivy" redesign!).
Just offer her a section of the planet to grow her tropical paradise and she's on board.
By the way, I would really like to see the Scarecrow make an appearance in the Secret Society. He loves fear, Darkseid feeds on fear, and I think that he was a Silver Age member as well...

I like Two Face too. I would say he has not even been used to his full potential in awhile, other than in No Man's Land. He has always been around and will always get story after story dedicated to him. He will always be used more than Ivy when we have all the Two Face stories and its kind of like, ummm how long are we going to see the same thing. He battles with his good side. He battles with his bad side. He does everything in 2's. Alright we have been there and done that. Like I said, I like Two Face though.
:p
I have never liked Catwoman. I found her character boring. She does not have the ability to generate an interesting story me. Ivy has so much more. So much more we have not looked into. Her powers are far beyond other rogues and I think that is why they do not want to use her. They do not want to upset the Joker and Catwoman dominance in Bat stories. How many times can we have her play the fence? How many more times do we have to see her do the same things over and over with Bruce. I would totally like avoid Catwoman stories.
It is kind of funny your point about Ra's Al Ghul. I have often thought about a storyline with Ra's. I think a team up of the two would be perfect till she turns on him. :) I was also going to do a story with Ra's in my RPG, but hehe I can never keep a Ra's. The two we have had were both jerks. :(
However, if Catwoman was in Gotham Adventures I would be happy. The book is really lacking in stories right now. How many times are we going to get Joe Nobody stories?

Like any everybody has their favorite characters. It is no big deal. We are all attracted to different things and thats just because we are people. I find Poison Ivy to be really interesting. Maybe I have been roleplaying as her for too long and I start moving her character into things I want to see. Things the writers should do. I will always think Poison Ivy has a better story than Catwoman. She seems very 1 dimensional to me.
