View Full Version : Daredevil To Cameo In 'Elektra' Spin-Off
Hey there sports fans!
In a recent interview, Ben Affleck has revealed he will be cameoing in Elektra, the spin off to last year's Daredevil movie. Although he has no idea what the cameo will feature, the rumour of his apperance in the film has been strong since production on the film started.
It is unknown if Colin Farrel, who played Bullseye, and killled Elektra, will star in the spin off.
The last known plan was for Daredevil/Elektra to be reunited in Daredevil 2.
Elektra is planned for a Summer 2005 release.

Thats good. I liked Daredevil and plan on seeing Elektra. I hope they do end up doing DD 2.

I knew that when I heard that Garner and Affleck were meeting in Vancouver. Press made a relationship out of it, but I knew better. I hope his appearance is good.

Surprise surprise, this comes shortly after the rumor that Affleck and Garner are dating. I wouldn't be surprised if the cameo turned into a minor character within the coming months.

EDIT: GL2K2 beat me to it. =[

That's good to know. Hopefully it's not a flashback. Or not just. Wonder if he's going to be plain Murdock or in costume.
I thought Elektra was coming out in Febuary, did they push it back?

That sounds nice. I'll probably watch this movie since I enjoyed Daredevil.

I hope its true. Has anyone heard anything about a Daredevil sequel? I had heard Affleck didn't want to do a sequel. But, now I hear different.

I assumed Daredevil would make an appearance. How about a news story about Spider-Man playing on a T.V. in the backround or something? Or the increase in the mutant population? That would be a little more exciting. Heck, why not a newspaper article about the crumbling of Howard Saint's business empire? I think it's time these Marvel movies stopped ignoring each other.

I don't think they can connect a lot of characters due to licensing. Marvel has sold a lot of there characters to different studios. You cant mention Spiderman related characters (Sony) in a X-men movie (Fox). Thats why they couldnt have the reporter in Daredevil (Ben Ulrich) working for the Daily Bugle (spiderman) like he does in the comics.

I think all of you need to see a psychiatrist!!! That's all I have to say on this matter.

Yes, but Knight, can't they make some deals? Spider-Man's picture shows up on a newspaper in DD2, and so Sony gets a small percentage of the movie's profits, or something along those lines. I don't know...it just seems confusing to me and maybe some of the other people that know this all goes on within the same universe.
That's why I think it was smart to have The Punisher set outside NYC. After the mess Castle left at the end, fans know that Spider-Man or Daredevil would've checked into it, whether or not a movie was made about it. Like I said, they need to make some deals to criss-cross. It would add some flavor, and a very tasty one at that.

I agree it would be nice but if they will do such a thing is another matter.

Erm, is it confirmed Affleck will be cameoing as Daredevil? Sounds a silly question, but this would be the first movie "crossover cameo" which is a bit odd. I hope it is as Daredevil, but is there a chance it's just is Affleck as a bystander, salesman, etc..?

That is the ONLY good thing about Warner Brothers controlling all of the DC properties. Cross-over mentions are possible. Marvel should have worked it into the license to each studio that characters and places can be mentioned. As long as it doesn't become a major plot point or change something shown in a different movie.

It seems a little odd to me that there will be an independent Elektra movie and then a follow up to the first Daredevil movie. It's almost like Elektra is an unoffcial sequel do DD.

So... did Sony have to get WB's permission for the one Superman joke used in the first "Spider-Man"? If not, how is that case different from any of the others described above?

Linking two film franchises together by implying the characters co-exist gets a little more complicated.

Yeah! What he said. ;)
Glad to hear that Affleck will make a cameo in Elektra. Hopefully it will be as daredevil, and something somewhat worthwhile. This definitely raises my interest in the movie, especially after having mixed reactions from that picture of Jen Garner for the movie.

Well I consider this to be good news. I feel like I just heard that Affleck wasn't going to do it at all so whether it's as Matt or DD I just hope it goes down.
