Did they ever explain the clone to MJ's family members. I remember the scene where MJ's clone dies and turns into a puddle of goo, but was there any scene or any mention about how her family members dealt with it? I just wonder how the MJ clone melting could be explained to her family.

I don't think they ever talked about it or got a chance to since right after the incident madame web took him to see the beyonder if I remember correctly.

I'd say they avoided it because it'd be difficult to handle. We know that MJ's aunt disliked Peter and got pretty nasty with him when the real MJ disappeared. How would she react if he said "Well, what I married was a water clone of your niece who recently evaporated. The real ones trapped in dimensional limbo"?

Like DonkeyKongSnes said, Spider-Man was whisked away by Madame Web to meet the Beyonder almost immediately after the clone died, then the Secret Wars saga started. After that, the Clone Wars ran its course, then the series concludes with Madame Web taking Spidey to another dimension to find Mary Jane.
Semper said sometime after the end of the series that if given another season, for the first couple episodes he would have Spidey continue dimension-hopping to search for Mary Jane, so I would assume he finds her before having to break the news to Anna Watson.

I would loved to have had a better ending to that series. I always think it's a shame when series which have arcs are shot down before they can resolve.
I suppose in a way, it did resolve most things. Spidey got to meet his "creator", he realised a great deal about himself - just who he is, the task he was set up for by Web was completed, and she was rewarding him by finding Mary Jane. We know she'll find her and we know he'll get her back.
There are a lot of positives. Funny, a Quantum Leap "type narrated" ending on cues which say something like "Parker was reunited with MJ and they did marry but he never forgot who he was.. he was Spider-Man" or something cheesy like that, and all the series would have rounded off nicely. Great pity.

I guess that makes logical sense. I assume Madame Web could also return them to the point after the clone turned to a puddle of goo.

They didn't need to because Peter found The real Mary Jane in Spider-Man Unlimeted who he was already married too.

Why are you even assuming Spider-Man Unlimited is in the same continunity?

Why are you even assuming Spider-Man Unlimited is in the same continunity?I remember reading that the Unlimited show takes place for a brief time before Spider/Secret Wars happened in the regular Spider-Man cartoon. So, it's very possible the MJ in Spider-Man Unlimited was actually the clone.

Woah...that's major confusing considering that Venom and Caranage are working together, rather than fighting as seen in "Venom Returns/Carnage"

Woah...that's major confusing considering that Venom and Caranage are working together, rather than fighting as seen in "Venom Returns/Carnage"I'm just as confused, but I know there's an interview somewhere that says this series takes place in a small gap of time during the Fox series, and that the series would eventually route back to TAS after Unlimited finished the second season.
