Mime Control, Part 1

While Joey, Tea, Tristan, and Solomon talk about Joey's latest victory, Yugi is confronted by Marik's newest minion: Strings! And to make matters worse, Strings has the Egyptian God Card Slyfer the Sky Dragon with him! Yugi starts out well enough, but can he keep up the pace and stop Marik before he summons a God?

Comments: While I enjoyed this Duel a lot more than with Arkana, it's still only mildly enjoyable. Yugi's constant spouting doesn't help things. At least Bakura gets some screen time.

Mime Control, Part 2

With Yugi trapped and unable to attack, Marik summons the mighty Egyptian God Card Slyfer the Sky Dragon! (That name is so good for filler!) Yugi devises a way that might be able to take down the mammoth beast, but the God has a few tricks up its sleeve that will make Yugi sweat. Marik himself also has created what seems like the greatest combo ever!

Comments: Eesh. This episode goes on and on and on! It doesn't help that Marik's voice is annoying and Yugi is his usual self. Add to the fact that Kuriboh is around is a plot hole. Still, Slyfer's intro was pretty cool, albiet not nearly as cool as in the Battle City Finals.

Mime Control, Part 3

The Egyptian God Card known as Slyfer the Sky Dragon (See? It's wonderful filler!) seems to have cornered Yugi! But Kaiba's appearence gives Yugi new hope and an idea that just might be able to defeat Slyfer the Sky Dragon once and for all, but he needs to draw the right card!

Comments: If only the strategy Yugi comes up with could be used in real life. Of course, in the real game, it's much easier to take down an opponet's Life Points. Oh, and you gotta love Marik's bike.

Legendary Fisherman, Part 1

Yugi and Kaiba race to find Joey and the others before Marik can. Speaking of which, Joey finds himself at Sea World, where Mako is putting on a show. Joey challenges him to a Duel, to which the whale trainers somehow agree to be played on their pool. Joey thinks he can use one of Weevil's cards to win, as well as some Trap Card help, but Mako has plenty of tricks up his sleeve that gives him the edge!

Comments: This whole Duel is basically to show off the "Fisherman" Deck that became uber-popular after "A Legendary Ocean" was released. Also, look for a slight plot hole, as Mako draws two times in one turn without any card aid.

NOTES

This season covers the power of Battle City, which is STILL going on over at Kids' WB! (stupid Noa...)
After another somewhat decent Yugi Duel, we get another cool Joey Duel.
Wow. There's not much to say about this week...
Red Giant will be back with his usual Yu-Gi-Oh! Talkback next week.

No offense to Red Giant, but I kinda like your talkbacks more Duke, if only for the little notes you put down for each episode (like in your Pokemon talkbacks).

That's not the only real plot hole in the Joey vrs Mako duel.

When Joey first attacks Mako's monster, Mako's life points only go down 700 pointes, even though Joey's Alligator Sword had 1500 and Mako's Weakened Sea Beast (forget the name, but it's the one Joey uses Skull Dice on) had 650 Attack points, so Mako's like points should of went down 850 points. Not to mention I don't see where Mako got the two monsters to sacrifice for his Whale Fortress, or how Joey didn't need to sacrifice any monsters when his Panther Warrior attacked The Whale Fortress (espically when they showed he needed to sacrfice a Scapegoat to attack The Legendary Fisherman later). This whole duel is very buggy IMHO. Not to mention I have problems with Joey not being able to destroy an 800 point Flying Fish. I mean, come on!

Whale Fortress is a Ritual Monster, and Ritual Cards, like Fusion Cards, can use cards from the Hand to sacrafice with. Speaking of which, Mako never gives Joey the Ritual Card needed to summon Fortress Whale, making it really useless.

Also, Panther Warrior was able to attack because it was Mako's turn and it was counter-attacking due to Panther Warrior having the higher ATK power.

Is it somewhat scary that Marik is probably the only character I really like in the Battle City season?

Not really considering Marik kicks major ass.

I love how Joey starts to lose horribly in all three of his duels but then suddenly turns it all around in a great way. BUT THERE IS A TERRIBLE POWER HIDDEN WITHIN HIS OPPONENTS DECK (MUWHAHAHAHAHA) End part 1.

Why does the show make you hate Seto Kiva more than Marik, towards the end of Battle City he becomes such a jerk that Marik looks like a boy scout.

Well, last saturday on kids WB Kaiba did give Yugi the card the he said would beat Marik. So, he's not a complete jerk. But a decent week with a decent Joey Duel. I love Joey duels. Joey be my fave character.

ok since the weeks done i can finally ask this.

In Mime Control part (1 or 2 can't remember), Joey challenges kaiba in which is about to accept but leaves when notified Slifer is played. And the at the end of Part 3 he challenges Yugi for his EGC but Yugi leaves in search of his friends and Kaiba says something to the point of, leaving in the middle of a duel is against battle city rules. So its ok for him to do it, but not others?

Because he's the creator the tourney. The rules only apply to him when he wants it to.

CN? dunno how long. i'm hoping they go at least up as far as the final shadow realm episode where gozabura becomes a monster and the island he and noah are on, sink.

that whole shadow realm saga where they're in a virtual world... is the coolest. that i'd like to see air at least that far, the newest batch of yugioh episodes, even if it is mostly a stop on the road to the final battle city battles.

and btw.. i like the weather channel ,too. not only do you keep up to date on the weather, but the music between the reports is better than anything mtv airs nowadays.

no, really. it's much better.
