I think it would be cool to introduce him in the second season or have a JLA movie with him. Opinions?

I could stand to see Doomsday in the JL. He's kind of like DC's version of the Hulk...and a Hulk-like rampage would be cool to watch.

An animated Doomsday movie would have worked nicely when Superman had his own cartoon! Now a Crisis On Infinite Earths movie, however, would give lots of heroes lots of facetime...;)

Id like to see Doomsday appear and maybe actually kill Superman in a season finale (during the second seson). Which would then set up the 3rd season with the League without Superman until mid season while at the same time having a Superman subplot during each episode showing whats going on with the character. This would set up a full Superman return. Id like to see the League compensate for the lack of Superman for a few storylines and bring out his importance. Maybe by increasing thier roster maybe adding Aquaman or someone else to the team during the time.

A Doomsday plot could work well... the rest of the JL get their butts kicked trying to slow him down, leading up to a climactic battle with Supes.

Though personally, I'd rather the team not be overly reliant on Superman... I like the notion the creators have taken, in that the majority of the episodes will only focus on two or three characters. Not only does that give everyone a chance to shine, but it leaves room for big gobs of characterization...

If the writer's were to use Knight's idea, the team wouldn't be overly reliant on Supes. With Superman "dead" until midseason, as Knight suggested, the team would have to move on and stories would obviously reflect that. The other members would get more time in the spotlight until Superman returned.

It would forcefully change the lineup, which I REALLY want to see with this show. Members quitting and joining is one of the coolest parts of teams. It forces the new lineup to adjust to each other, and answers whether or not the team can go on without a certain character.

As for Doomsday? Yeah, I'd love to see him. But I have a hard time imagining the JL getting taken down and Superman stopping it. It worked for the original Doomsday story, 'cause the League was weaker in power than this incarnation. But I still think it'd be cool if Doosmday scored a lucky shot and brought down Superman. Then the Leaguers could kill Doomsday. Makes more sense than "The monster killed Superman at the same time Superman killed the monster!"

I find all this talk of killing rather bothersome. It's a kids cartoon for petes sake! I don't think any of us want out little relatives crying as they watch a giant monster kill their classic icon. Not that I don't think it may be interesting for us older folks to watch, but I relaly think Doomsday would complicate life extremely.

Remember Bane? He tore Gotham to bits in the comics, crippled Bruce and was beaten to near death by Azrael (I just can't call him Batman!). When they intergrated him into B: TAS, they altered his history, but not his character. All in all, that is what we should expect from JL. After all, imagine if the writers were completely faithful to the histories of every single character, villains and heroes alike! It would be a continuity nightmare, like the mainstream comics are on occasion.

If Doomsday does show up, and go after Superman (which would be kinda cool) I would like there to be a good reason, and I don't want Supes to have anybody's death on his hands!

Knight, you're on to something there. I like the sound of that story, that would be pretty powerful in showing the importance of a leader and how they all cope with that loss and compensate for it....

I can't see Doomsday showing up. Timm said he disliked the Doomsday character, which is why he never apeared on S:TAS. If he did, I think they could take him down in no time flat. I don't think it would bother kids to see Doomsday fight Superman becuase they realize it's not real, and they know that Superman will win in the end anyways. I don't remember kids crying when he was killed back in 1992.

I don't think I'd like to see him anyways. It'd just be an excuse for 40 minute sof fighting which can actually get boring after awhile.

Doomsday's not a walk in the park. He most recently took down The Martian Manhunter in a issue of Superman before the Man Of Steel decided to tear into him bigtime. A Doomsday clone fought Harlod Champion (who was Hercules in disguise) and Wonder Woman and gave them a hell of a fight before Diana used the gauntlet of atals to augment her strength and defeated him. Also
the Justice League with powerhouses Orion, Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman at the forefront were beaten by a Doomsday who was under the control of Braniac.

Doomsday's a wild beast ,killing is all he knows. He's Killed Superman and Mongul Jr.(Mongul Sr. was killed by Neron)and If it wasnt for Superman Darkseid would have died from his encounter with Doomsday also.

But this would be the animated version of Doomsday. Like Superman, I'm sure they'll depower him. Doomsday was just never one of my favorite villians. he just seemed like a marketing ploy created by DC. If they gave him braisn and smarts so he could outwit Superman at the same time, then I'd possibly consdier him a threat.

I wouldnt call Doomsday my favorite villian's either but he's a legitimate threat that id like to see pop up atleast once.

I agree, it'd be cool to see, I know very little about that character but do know what he's capable of....

If there is a good, somewhat logical reason for Doomsday to appear in JL, I think it could work. Having him (it?) appear just to create a huge fight episode is not something I'd like to see. Doomsday has proven to be a formidable foe to the JL in general, and bringing him into the animated realm could make for some great action. A super villian with a huge grudge against Superman or the JL could somehow resurrect, clone, copy, whatever...him and us him as a pawn. I doubt he would be created to be a guesome, killing machine with the intellilect of, say, Beast from X-Men. It really depends on what kind of direction JL will be taken.

I don't think I'd like to see a Crisis movie, we went through it in the comics...please don't do it in the cartoon.

First off, we wouldn't have to have Superman die at the end. Just like in the Batman episode Bane--something happens at the last minute to change it from the comic books.

I'd keep the monster about the same, but maybe depower him to about Hulk levels. Second, I wouldn't call him Doomsday directly in the episode--from what I recall that's what he was dubbed by the press in the comics. Third, he'd be vulnerable to kryptonite (he is Kryptonian in origin).

I see the potential episode going something like this:

Brainiac flees Earth on a spacecraft and flies to a distant world where the Kryptonians contained the beast; who was genetically engineered (like in the comics) but was imprisioned there when he proved unmanagable. Brainiac brings the creature to Earth in order to kill the Justice League (or to buy him enough time to gather Earth's knowledge and destroy the planet).

The League, of course, encounters difficulty. After an initial encounter the League learns about the nature of the beast from Superman's Krypton orb. During their second encounter they try using kryptonite on it. It works briefly but at a slower rate, so he gets away. Finally, Superman confronts it alone, and is about to die before we learn that it was a trick to keep the creature in one place long enough to use Superman's phantom zone projector to spirit it away forever. Then the League defeats Brainiac.

But if Superman wouldn't die, how would characters like Superboy, Eradicator, and Cyborg Superman come into play?

They wouldn't--therein lies the beauty of it.

They dont have to stick to comic book orgins they can adjust them.
